Martin ? Who’s Martin ? Lovely converted barn but badly lacking in several areas. No welcome. No instructions for anything. The basin water in the shower room takes forever to run away. The twin room is like a prison. One very small skylight. Both bedrooms need a dressing table and/or at least a chair (somewhere to put bits and pieces). Cleanliness could be improved.

The property was not very clean, washing up sponge on the floor below the table .. dirt under the beds. ensuite shower tray filled with water due to slow drainage. no information where facilitys were. outside bins overflowing. No ramp to front door.

We were very lucky to get be able to book this cottage at such short notice due to a late cancellation and so were happy just to have a place that appeared to meet our basic requirements.. We were absolutely delighted to see the place in real life and realise that it exceeded our expectations. The decoration throughout is super, the beds are really comfy and the kitchen is well equipped. As a family who tend to visit a holiday cottage or two a year, we were delighted with the size of the fridge and freezer (much bigger than often found) - big enough for us to store all our food for the week easily (the plug in cool box wasn't needed!) The stock of cleaning supplies was really reassuring in these current times too. Although COVID-19 has led to reduced contact with others in person, we did see Martin a couple of times and he responded really promptly to texts. He was really helpful with out questions and recommendations for places to visit. He was also willing to attend to any minor issues immediately if we had needed this. The surroundings were lovely and all in all we had a fantastic holiday stay. We'd definitely recommend this place.

The owners were very friendly and helpful.. The cottage was better than we expected (and bigger) The position near the motorway (but no noise) is great for access to Bath and Bristol. Although on a farm, it is very quite and relaxing.

We booked a week in this wonderful place and we flipping loved it. The house is beautifully designed and decorated, with everything you could need. Comfortable beds, big, spacious rooms, and very light and airy. Situated on a working farm, our son and dogs loved the freedom of being able to step out of the front door and roam about the farm. My son fell in love with a cow (who was in quarantine with a dodgy udder) and her calf, and visited them constantly until I’m pretty sure they’d invented their own language. The owner, Martin, was just lovely. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Situated just a few minutes from the M4, the whole farm is incredibly quiet and peaceful, you’d never know you were anywhere near a road. There’s lots of places to explore close by, and I can’t think of a more perfect base to set off from. We are going back and I can’t wait.

Oxen cottage is beautifully furnished and spacious, you couldn't ask for môre for a perfect few days.. Martin is there if needed but not intrusive, and supplied some wonderful eggs from the farm! We would defiantly return if we wanted time in the Cotswolds as a great base for sightseeing

An extremely comfortable and well appointed holiday home.. Set in a beautiful, quiet area. Nothing was too much trouble for Martin the owner of Oxen cottage. We had a lovely welcome package including a basket of a dozen fresh organic eggs and a box of delicious Florentines. We would highly recommend a holiday in this cottage and will most definitely return

The cottage was lovely - décor was very well co-ordinated - it's those little extra touches that make all the difference.. All the equipment we needed was provided. The bathrooms are excellent with everything placed appropriately to make it simple to use with all at hand. Fresh eggs, milk and biscuits were there to greet us as was Martin who showed us round and explained anything we needed to know. The property is right in the Wiltshire countryside, which is beautiful with lots of picturesque villages in the area. National Trust and English Heritage properties are in close proximity as is Westonbirt Arboretum, Lacock and Castle Combe. Longleat is about 20 miles away and well worth a visit. There are so many things to see in the area, we may have to return. In addition, the weather couldn't have been better. A most enjoyable stay. Thank you.

The eggs that were left and Wee starter of coffee and tea ect were a lovely touch.. Thank you. It was an extremely clean and comfortable cottage. Very much home from home. The only thing that could be improved would be to put a Wee fence around the front to keep the dogs in and so we could leave the patio doors open on a hot day. The dogs loved the freedom of the field. The owner was very helpful and pleasant. The other thing missing was a washing machine and worst of all for teenagers no wifi. We were there to visit family so not such big problem for us Also a www manual for the house explaining all the basics ( how to use the cooker, dishwasher where the dog friendly field was and maybe where the nearest super market is ect). Overall a very lovely cottage.

Very comfortable and stylish cottage situated within easy access of the M4 (but no traffic noise).. Warm welcome from Martin and much appreciated welcome pack of a dozen fresh eggs, milk, biscuits, etc. Cottage is light and airy and the beds are really comfortable. Lovely part of Wiltshire with plenty of charming villages to visit. The New Inn is a short drive and provides delicious food.
