Nestled within a working family farm fringing the historic village of Avebury (a World Heritage site, don't you know), this is the countryside hideaway you've been chasing. While the former stable dwelling may have old bones (check out those lofty oak beams), there's nothing twee about its interiors inside. Every inch of the home is beautifully reimagined for pure modern luxury with statement lighting, vibrant textiles, and curated artwork bringing a touch of refreshing and playful modernity. After banking a peaceful night's sleep in the stylish bedrooms, get together around the dining table overlooking the shared courtyard for lazy breakfasts – the welcome hamper's sourdough loaf is the best thing since sliced bread. Or, if you'd after a big cook-up, your host can deliver fresh farm produce right to your barn door. When bellies are full and it's time to set off exploring, you won't have far to go. Just head into the local village of Avebury (a three-minute drive or half-an-stroll stroll) – it's an afternoon well spent with its traditional inn, charming shops, and of course, the Neolithic stone circle. Just be sure to make it home in time for some stargazing around the fire pit on the beautifully landscaped terrace that you'll share with the barn's other cottages. On a balmy evening, there's no finer place to be.

About Wiltshire

Wiltshire’s landscape has always had a touch of the ethereal to it. It’s a land of ancient druidic ritual and home to the UK’s most famous mysterious stone circle – Stone Henge. The neolithic standing stones of Avebury and Westbury White Horse are a sign that this land has been occupied for thousands of years.
