Area With a view of the Worth Valley, Oakworth is a little Pennine village that was made famous by the filming of the classic 1970 adaptation of E.E. Nesbitt's book The Railway Children. It is only a short drive from Haworth. Along with being close to Haworth and the moors, Oakworth also features a lovely ornamental park and is conveniently located near Keighley. The famed Bronte sisters, who lived close by in Haworth, were greatly influenced by the nearby moorland. Haworth offers a wide variety of curiosity and antique shops, lanes, and cobblestone streets that provide a lovely historical feel, all set against the beautifully described countryside from the book Wuthering Heights. The nearby Worth Valley Railway, an actual steam railway made famous by the movie The Railway Children, is a charming day trip destination with frequent service to the historic village of Oxenhope. The Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the Museum of Rail are just a few of the well-known tourist attractions in the region. A short drive will take you to the market town of Skipton, the entryway to the Yorkshire Dales, as well as to chic Harrogate, energetic Leeds, and bustling Manchester.
Region From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?
