  • "The Retreat is such a wonderful property!"

It has everything you can possibly wish for in a holiday cottage and then some (in particular having sufficient coat hangers to use)! Facilities were excellent, and surrounding area is so peaceful! Would not hesitate to return to this cottage!

Dear Miss Chelsie many thanks for your lovely feedback, its heartwarming to get such great feedback from our guests who stay at The Retreat. We always try to make it as homely as possible, especially in the winter months when you want to return after a day out visiting our area. Hot bath, slippers on, curl up with a good book. We hope you will visit us again, and see more of what the area has to offer. Kind regards Philip & Paula Property Owner

  • "What a beautiful place this was."

So relaxing. So clean. Also in a beautiful, central location just far enough out of town to where you can see some nice views, and not far away from some really epic walks. The owners are accommodating and very sweet. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Our Road is a bit steep especially if you live in the flatter areas of the country but makes up for it with the outstanding views that we have around this area. We hope that you will visit us again. The owners provided and thought of extra thoughtful and helpful stuff for the stay at the retreat home. That made it very heart touching! All the advice and recommendations was super helpful too! Because it was so cosy, we wanted to stay indoors all day rather than exploring outdoors. Only items missing is an iron and air freshner which I am sure the owners can provided if requested. They are super friendly too!

  • "Very friendly hosts and a lovely comfortable, excellently equipped cottage."

It was easy to find from the travel instructions that Paula gave us. We discovered that there are buses easily accessible from the house to Keighley bus station from where we could access all areas without having to drive- including the Worth Valley Railway, Bronte Parsonage and Skipton to name a few. Thanks to Paula and Philip for the milk and treats in the Welcome Pack on arrival. Very thoughtful. We've had a lovely time. There was too much to do in one week so we'll have to be coming back.

Dear Barbara many thanks for your lovely feedback, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay, it was lovely to meet you both and that you thought the flat was lovely and comfortable, Please do come again and visit all the wonderful places that we have in the Keighley area you will have a warm welcome. kind regards Philip & Paula Property Owner

  • "Unfortunately the wrong postcode and directions were sent to us by Sykes."

We were 15 miles away, almost in Lancashire. Fortunately the correct postcode was provided by the cottage owners when they phoned to see where we were! They very kindly stayed on the phone as we drove over the top Moor, pitch black, and on very narrow twisty roads. Very traumatic to say the least. 'The Retreat' is a lovely welcoming home-from-home. Very well presented. Lovely owners. Outstanding views. Then then it snowed for 3 days and we were unable to move the car as we were parked on a 1 in 3 hill! Apart from that - we did enjoy our stay at The Retreat.

Hi Shelagh and Barrie, thank you so much for your lovely feedback, we were delighted that you both enjoyed your stay at The Retreat even though you were snowed in for three days. It was a pleasure meeting you both, and we hope you will stay with us again in the future. kind regards Philip & Paula Property Owner

KEIGHLEY

Haworth 4 miles; Skipton 12 miles.

The large market town of Keighley is situated in Aire valley in West Yorkshire, within easy reach of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The town, mentioned in the Domesday Book, grew during the 18th and 19th centuries due to wool and cotton industries. Today Keighley offers a shopping centre, pubs, takeaways and restaurants, whilst on the outskirts of the town are two retail parks, and the Keighley and Worth Valley Light Railway, made famous by the film The Railway Children in the 1970’s, runs for five miles through the town to the village of Oxenhope. Just one mile out of town is the wonderful 17th century National Trust East Riddlesden Hall, and just four miles away is the village of Haworth, made famous as the home to the Bronte sisters. The village offers cobbled streets, lovely shops and the Bronte Parsonage Museum. Close by is the market town of Skipton and the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park, plus within driving distance are the city of York and delightful Harrogate.
