The property is in an excellent location but it’s decorations are , to put it kindly, in an eclectic style! - junk shop chic One major issue was the the fire alarm did not work correctly - it was triggered several times BUT , not heard in most of the rooms The kitchen was completely inappropriate for the number of guests- one rather small domestic dish washer , one standard domestic sink & one hand washing sink which which was not plumber in ! The kitchen range might have been retained form the building’s original users!! If the owner’s do not rectify these issues I strongly recommend that you look elsewhere, if these issues are addressed the property is definitely worth booking. The property overlooks Ilkley which is a vibrant town with all modern facilities Would definitely be five stars if the above issues were addressed

We booked this former Catholic retreat last minute when our portugal holiday fell through and we didn't regret it. The property is very unique and has plenty of space both inside and out. It has been refurbished to a very high standard and felt very homely. The property was spotlessly clean and felt covid safe. The two large living areas look out over the garden with stunning views of Ilkley and Ilkley Moor. You can also enjoy these from the two hot tubs. We enjoyed the extra facilities you wouldn't normally get in a regular rental property - the poll table and snooker table, bar, art room, fire pit, putting green and the gym that was mostly used as a disco by the kids. This is a great property to visit with children as they have so much space to enjoy The location of the property is fantastic. We enjoyed many walks starting from the property straight onto the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. Ilkley Moor is a short drive away with more stunning views and great walks. You can walk down into Ilkley town from the property either on pavement or by footpaths through woods. The pretty town has plenty of restaurants, takeaways and shops and a lovely Riverside park with plenty of walks. The communication from the hosts was great with clear guides for everything provided in the property. They left us a welcome hamper with useful extras such as tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits and bread. They left milk and butter in the fridge. We were provided with plenty of dishwasher tablets, washing powder, loo rolls and tea towels. We would thoroughly recommend Myddelton Grange.
