Area
In the Domesday Book, Addingham is referred to as "Ediham", or "Home of Edi" - the Earl Edwin of Bolton Abbey. This historic village is located between Ilkley and Skipton and sits snugly in the valley of the River Wharfe, only three miles from the Dales National Park at Bolton Abbey. A corn mill near where High Mills is today was also mentioned in the Domesday Book in 1315, and over from the river is a weir, one of the most ancient medieval constructions in the village. Scenic Bolton Abbey is close by, and visitors shouldn't leave Addingham without taking a picturesque stroll along the river to the "Strid". Today Addingham is vibrant and thriving local community surrounded by stunning countryside and boasts little shops, fine pubs serving wonderful ales and a rather pleasing golf course.

Region
From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

We had the best of times at Cringles House.. Location was excellent as was the space. Because of the changing Covid situation as we headed up to our week at Cringles, on several occasions we emailed the owner and he even rang us. Excellent comms. He even arranged the most beautiful week for us! Our daughter was married from Cringles and, in the end, everything worked perfectly. The hot tub is a 5* bonus. Lots of special little touches were included. We would highly recommend Cringles House and will certainly return for a family reunion when restrictions allow.

Some comments collected from our group: Very nice place with good space in a decent location.. Hot tub was unreal. Would recommend to anyone and would definitely visit again Amazing, spacious, warm happy home. Nice touches were Prosecco, cakes, bread, milk and butter left but disappointed to see the bbq was left to empty from previous user and wasn’t enough toilet roll. Hot tub was brill. Overall, we've even talked about booking again some time next year as we enjoyed it so much.

This is the 3rd time I have visited Cringles House and as before, it was fantabulous! !! I could have put met expectations in the review but that's only because I know what high standards the owners have and that is evident in the presentation of Cringles House and what it offers. The surroundings are gorgeous and as everyone puts, the hot tub is amazing!! It is the only 10 person hot tub I have ever found and it is just lovely. The layout of the house means you are not on top of one another, considering there's 10 people, and if you want a bit of alone time, it's not an issue. The communication with the owners, with Sykes and with the folks in charge of housekeeping and the hot tub is excellent, nothing being too much trouble. Unfortunately, on our weekend, we had an unwanted visitor...Storm Dennis!!!! But, that being said, we still managed to get in the hot tub, it was hilarious because a few of us had our walking hats on, you can imagine what a memory that made. lol The only reason I wouldn't want to put a good review on is because, I want to keep it for myself, but you know what they say "sharing is caring" and how could I deprive others from experiencing such a fantastic time. Can't wait for my next visit (already in the planning), try it, I will guarantee it will not disappoint.

When we arrived we was welcomed to a kitchen full of treats,sweets,cupcakes,champagne,wine.. ....endless. The house was immaculate, and so beautifully displayed! Everything you could possibly need! The hot tub man was fantastic and really gave us the information we needed to use the equipment appropriately. 100%recommend and we definitely will be coming back!

This is my second stay here and it is a superb cottage for a big group of friends.. Our main priority was accommodation with a hot tub big enough for 10 people but Cringles House also has enough Indoor space with a massive kitchen, dining area and ample bedrooms and bathrooms.

This is the 2nd time I have used Sykes and been to this cottage.. I went with a different group of friends and they definitely had their expectations exceeded, they could not stop complimenting the cottage, the facilities and the best ever 10 seater hot tub ever. We had such a fantastic time they all want to go back. Whenever I want to look at a cottage, I use Sykes and have used them a few times this year, very easy to use and love the £20 holiday hold rather than have to pay the full deposit straight away.

Was used as a base for our daughters wedding.. The property was perfect for that - the wedding party left from there and we had a large gathering on the Sunday to finish off the celebration. The house was outstanding.

We used the beautiful Cringles House for a base closer to our wedding venue near Bolton Abbey.. The house was absolutely perfect and all our friends and family that stayed there fell in love with it. The grounds are beautiful with the sitting room over looking the gorgeous rolling hills of the Yorkshire Dales and a fab hot tub in the back garden. All the beds were externally comfortable and the dining table comfortably sat 10 adults and a toddler in the high chair. Finally, the service from the Cringles House team was exceptional. One of the showers wasn’t draining and they came and sorted this while we were at our wedding so it was fixed for when we got home. The hot tub was clearly explained and also checked while we were there. The house team also left us a bunch of flowers, bottle of Prosecco, cars and cupcakes to wish us well for our married life and that was absolutely going above and beyond our expectations. Thank you, thank you, thank you for making our special day even better than we could have hoped for - we are keen to book again in the future! Lizzie & Sam

A group of 10 mature ladies (aged 47+) enjoying a catch up weekend and a birthday celebration all in one.. The accommodation exceeded ALL of our expectations. Loads of room in the house so we could spend the time inside doing our own thing (cinema time, chat time, cooking time, music time) at the same time. The hot tub was amazing, the first time I have ever seen a 10 seater and comfy when we were all in. The weekend was so wonderful we have already discussed booking again for the future. The only reason I would not want to recommend this is if I was concerned they wanted to book it the same time as me!!! lol Joking apart, if you want high standard accommodation with the fantastic bonus of a hot tub and you are a large group this would be perfect for you. The scenery is fabulous and you can partake in lovely walks to take in the countryside or to have a look at the nearby villages. Can't rate this highly enough.

A group of 11 ladies have just returned from cringles cottage feeling totally destressed.. The facilities were amazing and the hot tub great after our 10 mile walk. The lovely welcome pack was very thoughtful and the little touches like hand wash, washing up liquid, tea coffee ,milk, beer and wine well received. It isn't a criticism, but a few more bar stools would have been welcomed as we tended to congregate in the kitchen. Mark the hot tub man was polite and attentive and the hot tub fitted 11 of us in with a little room to spare too. Paul and Claire were quick to reply to any email enquiries and a real pleasure to communicate with. Thank you for making our friends 50th a memorable and thoroughly enjoyable one.

I can't praise Cringles House enough - it's such a lovely, well thought out and we'll equipped house. We stayed for the wkend in October for my hen do - 10 hen's!! Ages ranged from 20 to 60. Everyone loved Cringles!! The house is spacious and spotlessly clean, everything's set up for your arrival with complimentary toiletries in the bedrooms. The hot tub was amazing, I wish I could have stayed in it for longer. I've read bad reviews about the road noise spoiling people's use of the hot tub - I would say this is rubbish! Yes the house is near an A road but once you get the jets on in the hot tub you don't hear the road noise - which was minimal anyway!!! We had such a fabulous weekend at Cringles and we're considering it being a annual visit!! 5* review from the hens :)

Cringles house is a beautiful property.. It has absolutely everything you could want. Kitchen was well equipped and little touches were provided (tea, coffee, milk, bread and butter etc) which was fab! Good location and taxis were very reasonable to and from Harrogate. Would definitely stay here again! Brilliant stay had by all. Thanks cringles house!

Property was very nice and in a great location for visiting the sights in Dales .. The problem is that house was so close to a busy A road with articulated lorries and buses thundering past at high speed that it ruined the experience. The garden was not private as the garden wall was low on the adjoining road ( obviously not to spoil the great view) but every vehicle that drove past could look straight in on you. The A road was approximately 20 feet from the hot tub and back garden had a high hedge and beyond this was a footpath and then the main road so if you are thinking of relaxing reading a book in the peaceful Yorkshire Dales then this is not the place to stay. Had I realised this I would not have booked the property.

We celebrated my birthday here over a long weekend and were very impressed with the house. It was so well equipped and the owners had thought of everything to make the stay a happy and comfortable one. The big hot tub proved very popular indeed! Our little granddaughter came for a short visit on the Sunday and loved the extensive gardens. We ate out in nearby Ilkley on the Saturday at a lovely Spanish restaurant called La Casita but wanted to make the most of the facilities on the Sunday night so ate in after a leisurely walk in the local countryside! The dining table seats up to twelve people so there was plenty of room for everyone and there was a great atmosphere. Paul, the owner, was exceptionally accommodating from when we first booked and was more than happy to answer any questions. I had a memorable 60th celebration with friends and family so thank you 'Cringles House'. I would whole-heartedly recommend this wonderful 'getaway' and would definitely return!

We stayed at cringles for a family wedding. As a family of 10 with children we couldn’t have stayed in a better property. We had masses of space for everyone to do their own thing & come together for meals. The hot tub was perfect, after staying in a few of this type of property we haven’t a had a tub so big! Visiting in December & getting to enjoy the property in the snow with Christmas decorations was an added bonus. The hosts were great & so well organised, the admin side was a breeze. We hope to come back for another family holiday!

What a house! I had, with the kids, the greatest time ever in the region. Whatever we needed we found in the house. The design and comfort, with cleanliness is unbelievable. The kids did not want to leave and I really want to go back again and again. I urge the owners to maintain the wonderful standards I have seen the house in and wish them a lovely time for allowing us spend a great time in, what is to me, a perfect property for a vacation.

Cringles House was superb for our needs - 4 adults and 3 boys aged 9, 8 and 3. It was very well equipped, we lacked nothing. The garden was great for outdoor games. The views from all round the house are amazing and the situation was ideal for all the places we wanted to visit.

We had the pleasure of being the first guests to stay at Cringles House over a Christmas break and it was perfect for us. The weather was pretty wild wet and windy, but what do you expect from the Yorkshire Moors in December, however the house was warm, welcoming, clean and very well equipped. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wanted to visit the fabulous countryside on its doorstep.

Gorgeous house with excellent facilities for all guests! We were a large party of 11 and there was plenty of room for privacy but also great spaces to be together. Couldn't fault anything and would recommend Cringles House as a good base to explore the surrounding countryside! Excellent!
