October 2020
Great location ideal for exploring the beautiful and historic village of Haworth .. The apartment was comfortable and warm. Facilities were more than adequate for a self catering holiday. Fridge requires some attention particularly lack of freezer compartment door and defective bottle storage in fridge door. However this in no way detracted from a great week and would have no hesitation in returning.

Immediately felt like "home'.. Spotlessly clean and a complimentary bottle of wine added that extra welcome touch. Location was amazing and detailed instructions from the owner meant we had no occasion to trouble them with any enquiry. We hope to stay again!

I love the accommodation and the area.. this will be our fifth year staying at this accommodation.

The cottage was equipped with everything one needs to have an enjoyable stay.. The books and media supplied are very considerately chosen and the whole styling of the cottage is very tasteful. I was very happy to find a painting of my late friend Tom Durkin in the sitting room. Everything in the cottage is arranged with a noticeable attention to details. Very appreciable! Just the icebox in the refridgerator should be equipped with a lid, that's all I would suggest. Anything else is really fine.

Accommodation exceeded our expectations.. Although described as an 'apartment,' the word didn't do it justice. It was so cosy that we were sad to leave. Home comforts, character, location, history...it had everything we wanted from a short break.

We had a lovely weekend break in Church View in Haworth and couldn’t have been happier.. It was beautifully decorated and fitted out, scrupulously clean, clearly well cared for and very comfortable. The welcome basket of wine and chocolates was a lovely thought too. The location is excellent, right in the centre of the shopping and eating area, yet quiet enough to relax between trips out. The only downside is not having off-street parking but it’s only 100 yards or so to a local authority car park that only charges £4 for 24 hours so that wouldn’t put us off coming again. Brian and Margaret really do look after their guests.

I’ve stayed at Clock View and Church View numerous times as it’s so comfortable and clean and has everything you need for a lovely stay.. the complimentary hampers are a lovely thought too. I stayed at another property in the past but left after one night and booked church view the next morning. I have recommended these two apartments to lots of friends and family who had never been to Haworth before and they are now regular visitors like myself and my husband.

We chose this accommodation for its great location. It didn't disappoint. It's at the 'top' of the village, close to the car park and the Bronte Personage. It's a lovely flat. Nice and clean. Bed was comfy. Great place to stay in Haworth. NB you must be able-bodied as the flat is up steep stairs and access is not the easiest. Haworth itself is one huge steep hill though so the stairs were not the hardest part of the stay!

It was a great base to explore Hawton and beyond.. Great restaurants nearby and lovely shops to look around, we loved walking the moors and visiting the Bronte places of interest.

Nice place, friendly people, good food and beer.. If you want to visit the Bronte Museum you couldn't get a closer accommodation. The apartment was nice and l would agree with what most people have said about it. Clean comfortable and well resourced. As the accommodation is self catering it would have been nice to have had a free cupboard to put food in as all the cupboards were full of various bits of kitchen equipment. The integrated fridge unfortunately had a broken freezer drawer when we were there so couldn't really use it, it wasn't a major problem for us and I'm sure they were going to have it fixed soon. It rained alot when we were there so the steps to get in to the apartment at the back got very slippery. Not a big problem just needed be a bit careful. People have said about the noise. We found when people rented the accommodation above we could hear them moving around and as we had the bedroom window open we could hear the people out side the pub next door when they were going home but this was only one night and only for a few minutes. The church bells ring every quarter for an hour which was nice but they're quite close so if you're a light sleeper this might be something to consider. However they only rang on Saturday Sunday and Monday when we were there I think they broke down. Personally we would have liked to have seen pictures of the bathroom before booking because the toilet area is really quite small, the shower and basin are fine but the loo is in a very tight spot! That said we would rent the accommodation again as I think the accommodation is well worth the money.

My mum and I stayed here over the 1960's Weekend in this apartment.. It was so beautiful, the pictures do not do the place justice, the apartment was stunning and it was a perfect size for two people. I would highly recommend that you stay here. It has great views of the main strip from the front and the church from the back. It made my mum and I want to live there. So far we have stayed in Haworth five times and this for sure was the most we felt at home. Excellent place.

Amazing stay all round! Apartment is on the doorstep to everything. Fab brewery bistro just across the road. Food and drinks fab and very reasonably priced. Super king-size bed was lush, especially in hot weather and so comfy. All pubs, cafes bars are either outside or down the bank so all within walking distance. Just be wary of steep bank as apartment is located at the top but nothing too bad (plenty of pub pitstops on a at back up ;) ) Overall excellent stay and we were lucky enough to see the tour de Yorkshire. Already planning another weekend trip bk here.

This is our second stay in this cottage and we loved it just as much as the first time. It's in the heart of the old village, seconds from the parsonage and Main Street, yet quiet and peaceful. We appreciated the welcome basket and the amazingly comfortable super king sized bed. The owners couldn't have been kinder and were a pleasure to deal with.

Very lovely little hoilday home, had everything we need.. Very clean, lovely welcome hamper, very good welcome pack. Also about 20 steps to the pub which was great. The village of Haworth is a great little place for a mini break.

Church View was a very comfortable place to stay.. Having two sofas was excellent and the bed was very big and very comfortable. It was very clean and well appointed with lots of nice touches within the decoration. The location was excellent if you want to be in the heart of Haworth. It's worth noting that if you park in the Parsonage car park, you can buy a week's ticket from the tourist information shop for £20 saving £8. We would definitely consider another booking!

From the start of my booking with Ben, who was excellent on all aspects of service and also sending me additional information after my booking, I would have no hesitation in booking with Sykes Cottages again.. The property was excellent spotless and in a wonderful position in the main village and the owners were on hand if needed. I would most definitely book again with Sykes Cottages.

Church view is a lovely, cosy flat with a very comfortable bed and homely feel. Lovely and warm on arrival with a welcome basket including wine and biscuits. The location is great, right on the high street next to the church and parsonage. Lots of lovely little local shops on the street and the locals are very friendly and happy to give tips on where to go and see in the area. We loved the parsonage and went back a couple of times. Local walks are great and you can walk from the village to Top Withins and other local attractions. We met who we believed to be the owners on leaving and they were very friendly. Thank you for a lovely stay if you are reading! Jonathan and Sarah DB

April 2016
I stayed at Church View for a week and it was a lovely, clean and comfortable apartment. Brian and Margaret provided me with a wealth of info about the property and the surrounding area prior to my stay, so it was all very easy to get to and stay in the property. The welcome basket provided was a lovely touch! Church View is literally a stone's throw from the Bronte Parsonage and the start of the walk to Bronte Falls and Top Withens, so it's ideally located for any Bronte fans. The main street is just around the corner, so you're close by to all the local shops, cafes and restaurants. Local transport links are also close by, so it's very easy to get around (I visited Hebden Bridge, which is only a 30 minute bus ride away through beautiful Moorland). It's also near the train station, so you can hop on the steam train to surrounding villages and the main town of Keighley. The property itself was faultlessly clean and the bed was so comfortable, I slept like a dream! For a solo traveller I also felt very safe in the property, which I feel is very important. I was very sad to leave Haworth and Yorkshire, but next time I'll come back to Chruch View!

We had a great holiday here and the bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept in. Given the property is at the top of the village, it is very quiet, but very close to everything. We would recommend the property without question.

We loved the homely feel of Church View......felt very safe and had a really relaxed time there.

January 2016
A beautiful apartment above the sweet shop with lovely décor and some lovely details. Lots of information was left about the area and the details given to enter the apartment were perfect. There was plenty of information so we could make the most out of the time we spent there. Everything was spotless and the king sized bed was a special treat. At first I thought the proximity to the pubs might be an issue but I can't say that we had anything but perfect sleep. It was right in the middle of historic Haworth with ease of parking, the location couldn't be better.

It was in a perfect location with everything you could possibly need right on the doorstep. The property was very homely too.

November 2015
The location of the apartment was superb, everything we wanted was in easy walking distance. The apartment itself was beautiful and cosy. We couldn't have asked for anything better. The big bed was so comfortable with its fresh crisp sheets, and the towels where soft and fluffy. I loved the fact we were so close to the Bronte Parsonage and we could walk to Haworth railway station where we took a ride on the steam train to Keighley. I absolutely loved everything about it and will definitely be back.

October 2015
Spent a wonderful week here. It was extremely clean and well cared for to a very high standard and covered all our needs for the week. A special touch was the welcome basket which contained most of our necessities before needing to shop. The apartment is very central to the village yet also very quiet; everything is within walking distance except for the local food shop but that is easily accessible by car. Parking was no problem that too was within easy walking distance of the apartment. Have no problem recommending this to any one wishing to visit the beautiful part of England.

October 2015
The apartment was in keeping with the culture and history of the village, it was tastefully decorated and the owners were very helpful. There were many things to do in and around the village. There were so many we need to visit again as we didn't get chance to do all we wanted!

September 2015
The flat itself is lovely. Roomy and bright and the potted history of the building provided by the owner added to the interest. Absolutely everything you require is provided and the location provided a wonderful view of the main street with its many comings and goings. The location of this super flat in the centre of Haworth was ideal for seeing both the wonderful countryside surrounding the village and for the many restaurants/pubs in the pretty village itself. The Parsonage where the Brontes grew up is a must. Also many lovely walks to take without having to jump in the car. Particularly enjoyed the 'Railway Children Walk' and discovering the locations used in the 1970 film and the walk to Top Withens - allegedly Wuthering Heights. Many wonderful places to visit in the locality by both car and public transport. Information provided about the village was most helpful and the welcome basket which contained tea, coffee, chocolates and a wonderful bottle of wine was a lovely surprise and a wonderful touch! Would very highly recommend.

This property is a credit to the owners hard work and thoughtful preparation. It was a pleasure to stay in this wonderful well situated property. If I do return to Howarth, I would certainly try to book this property first. Also the owners were very friendly and accommodating in every way.

This lovely apartment was clean, cosy and had everything we needed for our stay. It is situated in a central location in the lovely village of Haworth which has plenty of amenities and there were also lots of lovely walks on the doorstep. The owner was only a phone call away if we needed anything and overall we found the holiday really enjoyable.

April 2015
The apartment was ideally situated on the top of Main Street within a short walk of the Church and Parsonage. It was surrounded by public houses, cafes, places of interest and on top of a sweet shop - what was there not to like. The shopkeepers and locals were extremely friendly and the owners were easily available if any queries arose. The bed was a delight and the overall combination of apartment and situation was ideal for whatever you required, perfect for that romantic short break.

We spent 3 nights in September at Church View in Haworth. It was a last minute booking (booked on the morning of the first night) and the owner quickly accommodated the booking, even providing welcome wine, milk, chocolate and jams which were greatly appreciated. The property had no reviews at the time of our booking as we were the first to stay there, it having recently been renovated to a very high standard. The accommodation was the perfect size for a couple. The open plan layout to the kitchen and lounge works well, with a view on to the main street and the bed is huge and very comfortable. The location is excellent - at the top of the main street, above a lovely sweet shop and very close to the Bronte parsonage. We used the parsonage car park (£4 per day) so the lack of parking at the property was not an issue. It was a lovely short break. I would definitely recommend both Church View and Haworth to friends and family.
