Butts Cottage was the perfect holiday home, a quaint 200 year old property with furnishings and bed linens of a very high quality plus a well equipped kitchen.. We arrived to find a much appreciated welcome pack, which included milk, bread, butter, biscuits, a basket of fruit and a bottle of wine - all much appreciated! The garden birds and squirrels were a constant source of entertainment and we met the owner who kindly left us a good supply of peanuts etc. to keep them coming. The cottage itself is in a quiet village - nice to return to after busy days out - and there's lots to see and do in the surrounding area. We especially enjoyed visits to Holmfirth (Last of the Summer Wine), the National Mine Museum near Wakefield (ideal for a rainy day) and the very quirky Oil Can Café, all highly recommended. Initially I was concerned about the staircase being a bit steep for my 89 year old mother - but there are handrails on both sides of the stairs and a hand grip at the top, which meant she managed the stairs with ease. This is a delightful property and I would highly recommend it.
