The Peak District National Park with its moors, dales, forests, lakes and reservoirs is also accessible. The Upper Derwent Valley is only a short drive away. Slightly further is Chatsworth, the stately home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, and isclose to the market town of Bakewell, the home of Bakewell Puddings. The Yorkshire Sculpture Park, The National Coal Mining Museum, Wentworth Castle, and the Hepworth Gallery are also within short drives away and well worth a visit.

Beautiful little cottage in a lovely location with spectacular views.. Spotlessly clean very comfortable and just as it looked on photos. The owners live next door and we’re friendly but unobtrusive. Parking is on the owners drive which could be an issue for larger vehicles but there are alternatives within walking distance . Very steep hills but worth it for the views . Holmfirth is a very friendly town with good selection of shops/pubs and eateries Dog friendly and excellent walking area

What a lovely week enjoyed at Bramble Cottage.. It was just as good as the glowing reviews suggest; cosy, charming and spotlessly clean. There is everything provided that you could need, yet everything so neat and well-ordered. The location is great, with wonderful views over the valley, and an easy walk to and from town. Just a few minutes up the hill and there are stunning views to enjoy, and several nearby villages with walks (and pubs!) to enjoy. Communication with the owners was easy, professional and very friendly. Highly recommended!

Beautiful cottage.. Perfect cosy romantic get away. The roads up to the cottage are very steep and bumpy so took a bit of getting use to but would happily holiday at Bramble Cottage again.

Bramble Cottage should have a five star listing.. . It is perfect for a couple on holiday with their dog. so many cottages of this standard do not invite our four legged friends. Bramble Cottage was very clean and comfortable and restored by the owners to a very high standard but retained some lovely original features, we were made to feel very welcome. Parking was scary but you do really get used t it.! Thanks to Mark and Katie for a very enjoyable week.

The cottage was brilliant and spotless.. The owner made us very welcome. Bramble Cottage is in a great location with fantastic views over the valley. Just a short walk into holmfirth to enjoy the bar's, restaurants and cafes. If we return to holmfirth we would definitely choose Bramble Cottage. Our dog Alfie also gave it a paws up.

We have just spent 1 week staying at Bramble Cottage, Holmfirth.. The cottage has been refurbished to an exceptionally high standard, and a great deal of thought has been put into the cottage by the owners, there is everything you need and more, and it would be hard to find a better cottage to stay in, in the U.K. The views from the cottage are stunning across the valley and rolling hills. This is the perfect place to stay as a base, and day trips to The Derbyshire Peaks, Haworth, Scarborough, York, Lancashire and the many reservoir walks close by are all very "do able" for a day out. Taking a four legged friend with you? no problem, they are welcomed. Sykes are a great company too, you can book online or by phone as we did, very welcoming, helpful and within a few minutes all was booked, 1st class customer service to them. Having recently retired we look forward to many more "Cottage experiences" with Sykes. We are sure that you will enjoy Bramble Cottage and Sykes as much as we have. Many thanks to you all. Jeremy and Carole.
