A really well appointed cottage with fine views over the surrounding hills. All rooms were spotlessly clean and beds very comfy! From Hade edge it is about a 30 min walk into Holmfirth either along the main road or the footpath which begins directly behind the cottage. There are plenty of scenic walks and the owner has provided laminated local footpath maps which were very handy.Unfortunately the only pub in Hade Edge was closed due to refurb at the time of our visit, due to open later in the season. There are however plenty of great pubs and eateries in Holmfirth. Also,a few minutes walk down the main road in Hade Edge is an excellent country store/butcher and coffee shop. All in all a great little place.

The cottage is part of a working farm and at some time would have been for a farm workers.. Inside it was really cosy and warm with all the facilities which was just what we needed as the weather over the first two days was atrocious snow rain hail and strong winds. The cottage is ideally placed to visit Holmfirth and the surrounding area The Fox House Pub just along the B6106 is well worth a visit great food but book if you want Sunday lunch. There is also a nice deli and farm shop a short walk away.
