Sandwiched between the South Downs National Park and the Chichester Harbour AONB, it doesn’t get more away-from-it-all country glam than this little Sussex nook. It’s on the edge of a wildlife meadow, so sessions on the private terrace come with the soundtrack of birdsong and a gentle summer breeze. Spot wildlife from the warmth of the private hot tub on the deck, or perhaps from the swing seat, strung up on the porch. The interior is a reflection of the wilderness location, with wooden artworks featuring fawns and birdlife on display in the cosy bedrooms. The window seat in the master makes for the perfect reading nook, overlooking the meadow, and there’s a desk in here should you need to work remotely. The vaulted, wood-beam ceiling is twisted with stringed lights for a fairytale effect and there’s plenty of room at the rustic wooden table for the group to dine inside (if you’re not enjoying an alfresco meal on the terrace, that is). Come evening time, the plush sofas in the living room are set around a wood-burning stove.

About Chichester

Sitting pretty between the rolling South Downs and the English Channel lies Chichester, the jewel of the south coast’s crown. Start your trip by wandering the city centre’s well-preserved Georgian streets, which join together in a cross by the elegant cathedral, best-known for its stunning 12th-century carvel panels. There are plenty of independent shops, restaurants and cafes to explore here (we particularly love the boutiques on the Pallant’s tangle of...
