The host and house were very welcoming.. It was ideal for our family and we had a enjoyable stay. The stay was a little spoiled as the dishwasher could not be operated for the whole weekend. There were two wheels missing off one side of the lower tray, which when loaded dropped onto the revolving sprayer. Sandra did call around that same day but her keys did not open any of the doors and she left us a note. The WiFi connection was poor and would be improved if the router was relocated more centrally; say in in the dining room. There is a file full of the instruction booklets for every piece of kit in the house but the file lacks a typed A4 sheet giving a few guidelines. The shower in the shared bathroom needs the switches in the cupboard to be on. When you go for a shower there the initial impression is that there is no hot water. Wearing only a towel is not the time to go exploring. Perhaps a plasticated note in the bathrooms could solve this. In other places we have stayed there is usually a notice asking for the beds to be stripped at the end of the stay. The fans in the bathrooms do not work when the light is switched on.. If there are switches for them they are not visible. It is not possible to lock the shared bathroom door which is not very convenient.
Notwithstanding this we had a great weekend. There were a lot of condiments which we did not expect and the Prosecco, fudge and cakes were both delicious and well received. Oh the guidelines could also add that the College Arms accepts dogs. Thank Sandra for us. I am sure she did her best. The guideline sheet and a few plasticated notes are easy to arrange. We hope she found that we had left the place clean and tidy.
