Area
Located on England's northeastern coast is the seaside town of Whitley Bay. There were mining and fishing activities in this area throughout the nineteenth century, but it is now a well-known tourist destination, with visitors flocking to its two-mile stretch of golden sand on the North Sea Coast. In addition to the town's charming independent shops and arcades, Spanish City, a remarkable dining and entertainment complex that was originally constructed in 1910 as a concert hall and painted to look like a Spanish village, is a popular tourist destination. Visit Di Meos, Whitley Bay's best ice cream parlour, after having your fill of fish and chips and strolling along the promenade. A short drive away is Newcastle-upon-Tyne, home to numerous pubs, bars, and restaurants, as well as a fantastic shopping centre and the Quayside on the River Tyne's banks which is a perfect location for walking. Gateshead's Millennium Bridge and The Sage's curving steel roof are just two of the city's architectural wonders that can be seen from the banks of the Tyne. Or visit The Discovery Museum, a maritime museum filled with local history. Because the Tyne and Wear Metro passes through many of the surrounding boroughs, taking in the sights of this fascinating region is a easy.

Region
Northumberland is a heady combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian’s Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife.

We had a lovely stay at Marden Mews. Judy is an excellent host, very helpful and approachable. The flat was immaculate, with plenty of kitchen equipment too. The bed was comfortable, with beautiful bedding. We used this flat as a base whilst catching up with our family, and it was spacious enough that we could sit comfortably (during an extremely rainy day visit) in the lounge , together again after a few months. Thanks to Judy and her cleaner for such a well presented home from home.

Just finished a week stay in this lovely flat and we’re sorry to leave. The flat is beautifully furnished and finished to a high standard. We only used the king sized bed which was really comfortable and clearly of high quality, but the second bedroom with a bunk bed and a single bed looked equally fabulous. The location is ideal for the town centre (about a 1 minute walk) and a pleasant stroll to the glorious Whitley bay beaches. The flat comes with its own private parking space which is worth its weight in gold. We were greeted with a lovely little basics starter pack of bread, milk tea, coffee cereals etc, even a wonderful bottle of sparkling wine in the fridge, this just showed the care Judy the owner had for the comfort of her guests. Judy communicated with us through the booking regarding location, access etc and made it very clear that if we had any issues she would be available to help (we had absolutely no issues whatsoever) the lounge, bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom are all of a good size, the kitchen had all you need for meal preparation etc (should you wish to do so on holiday!) but there are lots of good pubs and cafés nearby to satisfy every need. We do not hesitate in recommending Marden Mews and are actively looking toward our next booking.
