The property

Enjoying a wonderfully secluded location, The Nookery at Snape Hall near Saxmundham in Suffolk offers a relaxing rural retreat for couples.

Approached along a private driveway, the property feels like a real oasis of calm and the holiday begins as soon as you park up and soak up the calming ambience.

The open-plan living space provides a delightful area in which to chill out, eat, drink and enjoy spending quality time together.

The seating area invites you to curl up, maybe take a book from the bookcase, pop on some music, grab a glass of your favourite tipple and indulge in some ‘me’ time.

If you’re feeling peckish then step into the light and airy kitchen where you can prepare delicious food for that special someone before serving up at the elegant circular dining table cleverly positioned by the patio doors overlooking the lush gardens.

When the sun is shining take a seat on the glorious patio area surrounded by flowers and plants and with captivating views over the gardens.

You can imagine spending many a happy hour sat out here whist enjoying a meal or drinks alfresco.

When bedtime beckons the sumptuously appointed super-king-size bed awaits and with large feature windows there is nowhere nicer to wake up in the morning and after a refreshing shower or relaxing soak in the bath, it’s time to head out and explore the delights of the local area.

The cottage is a short walk from Snape and the famous Maltings, a multi-media arts complex which is home to the renowned Aldeburgh Festival and well worth checking out.

There are plenty of shops and pubs close by too so a great opportunity for a browse and to stop off for some refreshment.

Aldeburgh is a bustling seaside town with a beach and plenty of shops, galleries, pubs, and restaurants to discover, or if you fancy something more active then choose from cycling, sailing, walking and golf, all available within a short distance.

There are a number of attractions worth jumping in the car to visit such as Africa Alive Zoological Reserve, Framlingham Castle and Sutton Hoo and great towns to take a trip to whilst you’re in the area include Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds and Lowestoft.

The attractive village of Snape is located on the River Alde in the heart of the Suffolk Heritage Coast. Snape is home to a village store and three pubs, all of which offer excellent locally-sourced food. Just outside the village is Snape Maltings a popular destination on the Suffolk Coast and home to a selection of gift shops and independent stores offering a diverse selection of foods, art and crafts. It also boasts a cafe, tea room and pub and is home to The Snape Maltings Concert Hall, the base for Aldeburgh Music whose festival was founded by Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears in 1948. Just 10 miles from Snape is the market town of Woodbridge which has a wide selection of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. The area is a haven for wildlife and there are a number of popular footpaths from Snape including the Sailors’ Path which follows the line of the river to the popular coastal town of Aldeburgh through ancient woodland and heathland. A beautiful and peaceful area that will appeal to holidaymakers all year round.
