Seascope far exceeded our expectations, with its best feature being the location. A stroll across the (shared) front garden are the steps leading down to the vast grassy dunes and the pebbly, dog-friendly beach beyond. Considering we were visiting in peak summer time, it was like having the beach to yourself, with other beach users just a speck in the distance. We even saw a seal pop his head out of the water as if to check us out. The property itself was tidy, light, clean and ideal for our requirements, and the view of the morning sunrise from the main bedroom was truly amazing.

We love this cottage and return time and time again in fact we book the next visit while we are there! Its a lovely cosy cottage beautiful new comfy beds well furnished the owners a joy to do buisness with. I cannot praise Sykes enough pleasant, courteous and quick, efficient, makes our holidays perfect. And the spectacular view, even in Febuary the sunrise never fails to lift the heart.

Was a lovey setting, and was exactly as the description, any questions we had were answered very efficiently and then followed up to ensure there were no further problems.. Beds were comfy and the view on Christmas morning was stunning looking out on clear blue skies and the sea as a mill pond. I would definitely recommend the property to anyone visiting the area, especially if you are a dog owner, there are some beautiful walks and the beach is dog friendly. Thankyou for a great Christmas week, made even better as the property had been festivly decorated which was a fantastic touch.

We loved the beautiful view of the sea from the bedroom each morning.. The accommodation was very comfortable although lacked attention to detail. The shower upstairs dribbled out small drops of water and was unusable. The shower downstairs kept sliding down and was difficult to use because of this. The kitchen utensils for cooking were very poor quality. We had to buy a large frying pan and the one there was small and very worn. The curtains in the lounge were hanging off in parts. The interior front door didn’t lock. The pillows were very flat and uncomfortable. However, the location was wonderful. You must keep your dog on a lead on the front green area but once you get to the beach, down some very steep steps, they can run free. The Sailor’s Home pub is to the right, about a ten minute walk along the beach, and serves home cooked food at a reasonable price. It’s dog friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed our week but probably won’t return due to the above mentioned points. These things make a wealth of difference to me and would be easily put right.

Very comfortable cottage.. Fantastic position overlooking the sea. Well equipped and clean. Only downside were the showers. Very low pressure especially upstairs.

Back bedroom needs a mirror for ladies getting ready to go out .. My friend struggled with a small hand held mirror. Need an internal bin as you don't take rubbish out immediately so end up with recyle stuff hanging about looking a mess.Used the bag for messy black bin stuff but again it's hanging about on show.maybe a nice bin in the corner of the front porch. Everything else was delightful loved sitting on the upstairs bedroom balcony taking in the view. Thank you was a lovely holiday.

Curtains at front window in need of repair.. Kitchen utensil 's bit cheap especially the potatoes masher Shower upstairs bit slow & downstairs the cold water tap was not usable. Otherwise a lovely cottage in a beautiful location we shall return again .

Everything about this holiday was perfect the holiday cottage was well furnished warm and inviting.. 2 bathrooms in a 2 bedroomed house is a luxury. Wonderful sea view upstairs balcony and a small sofa in the seafacing bedroom was the icing on the cake.we watched the waves ships and dog walkers on the beach on the sofa! A lazy wonderful week.already booked for next year.

We would have liked an enclosed area to allow the dog out without having to put a lead on and take it for a walk.. Generally we would pick a cottage that has a garden.

September 2018
The location absolutely brilliant, views across a well kept grassed area straight to the sea.. Very quiet and relaxing, car almost essential, within easy reach of Lowestoft, Southwold and Aldeburgh and for a bit longer day out, travel to Felixtowe (this town amazed us, really nice and well kept) with it's nature reserve and container ship watching as they come and go from the port. All in all a great stay in Suffolk.

On Arriving cottage had not been cleaned.. Went back at 3.30 st cottage not been cleaned was told it would be 2 more hours before we could get in. Finally got in at 5.45 to no loo roll dirty curtains on patio doors, bedroom lamps dirty and the shade falling apart. Very little water pressure on both upstairs and downstairs shower. Sofas totally different to what was in the pictures at time of booking. In able to lock inner patio doors no key plus hand clip broken. Boiler in master bedroom came on 3 times throughout the night every night. Boiler not boxed in so it’s the first thing you see when you open the wardrobe. Second time we have stayed at the complex different cottage last year. This year loved the holiday let down by accommodation.

This is the second time we have stayed with Sykes and are returning in December and have had superb time however on both visits it's just tiny things that let it down for example The kettles in both houses are always in very poor condition The upstairs shower had no power The inside patio door did not lock There is no kitchen bin The blinds in the bedroom were falling to pieces They may sound petty but they are things you use every day and just let it down a little bit it's just attention to detail that spoils an otherwise superb accommodation it's not so bad that we would never return,we are there again for Christmas! Just updating the well used items would be the icing on the cake and doesn't cost a fortune Otherwise a cracking holiday with superb views first class beaches and Mediterranean weather!!!!!! We will return time and time again Many thanks for a great holiday Susan & Mark Shaw

We had a great quiet week at this property.. it was warm and comfortable even when the weather wasn't so kind. The best bit was waking to the bright sunrise through the front windows, where the view of the sea and beach area was amazing. operation of the door locks and window handles were quite stiff and in need of a service but were functional.
Mr Springall
March 2018
The cottage was extremely well equipped.. Location was perfect for beach walks with our dog. The area between the 2 sets of French doors was perfect for drying off us and the dog. Internet was good enough to stream catch up tv. Pub is also a short walk and dog friendly
Mr Martin
March 2018
The key safe is a bit of a problem it needs a little wd 40 or possibly replacement The lock to the steps was impossible to open possibly due to the weather but it's not as descriped by jml as a key code lock it's just operated by a large key .. All in all its a lovely cottage and to be able to lay in bed and watch the waves is a sheer delight

October 2017
We thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay, the chalet was clean, well stocked and the access to the beach (although a bit steep) was excellent along with the view. And the doggy was in his element on the beach. Our only disappointment was the attitude of the site manager who knocked on the door and accused us of putting dog poo bags an the wrong bin and didn't seem at all convinced when we denied it, he also spoke to someone further along and asked to inspect their doggy bags. Maybe a lesson in tact and diplomacy would help.

My partner and I stay here for a week as a birthday holiday break away, got to say it was a fantastic week, the view from all of the windows were amazing, on the first morning we laid in bed with the blinds open and watched the sunrise this was a breathtaking and so picturesque, we really couldn't wise for a better place as this cottage is dog friendly our pooch loved being a few steps next to the beach, the cottage was clean and everything we need was there, the complex is lovely and quiet and well maintained, we both would definitely love to return here.

I have never been into a rented cottage that was so clean and inviting, especially the main bedroom with the butterfly duvet cover.. Very Lovely .The one thing I will say is that a harder and higher armchair would be fitting for older couples as we are,and I am disabled so I found the sofas too low and soft for me. Also a dishwasher would be nice too.

October 2016
An excellent property in great condition.. Although sleeping four there were only two cereal bowls. The corkscrew was broken and there was no can opener. Very minor defficiencies although quite significant when you are trying to open a non ring pull can ! Lovely location for great beach walks. Would highly recommend and would definitely be interested in rebooking.

The location of the property was excellent in relation to the beach which was found at the bottom of some steps at the back of a grassed area. Amenities like shops and pubs were within walking distance through the village or via a short walk along the beautiful beach. There were absolutely fantastic sea views from the property particularly from the balcony on the first floor double bedroom - the sunrise in the mornings was a great way to start the day. An ideal property for those who have a dog as there are beach and coastal path walks on the doorstep. There were plenty of laundered towels available in the property which was a real bonus, and the property was well kitted out with other household items. We had a wonderful holiday and have recommended to family and friends. We would definitely return if the opportunity arose.

we loved our week here, we didn't find the beach too far, we also worked out a short walk along the cliff path to the north and go down the next set of steps you find gives quite a bit of sand. The place was clean and bright. We loved the children's outdoor toys and DVD's. We spotted a previous comment before we left regarding the shower upstairs but we found plug in the pump in the cupboard and it was the best shower ever, although the cable took a little wiggling to reach the plug socket. We would have liked a little info about the village, it would be nice if something could be written about where to find the shops/ play parks etc. There as a lot around which we found by exploring, which is fun but even just directions to the sand would enhance the stay. We would recommend this to others and if we visited the area again would certainly start with this place on our short list.

Bright holiday accommodation with amazing views. Don't be put off on arrival as you may be concerned about what you have booked. Park up and walk around to the front of the building where you have an amazing sea view which is undisturbed. The gardens are well kept and there is a private gate down to the 'living' beach. A great place when looking for somewhere to take the dog. We did come home two days early as the bed mattress was far too hard for me and the pillows are extremely flat even when folded in half - would suggest you take your own. The double bedroom has a fantastic view of the beach and the seating allows you to enjoy it either from the bedroom or balcony. Hangers in the wardrobe need to be changed as they bend almost in half when you hang a pair of trousers on them but there is plenty of storage for a holiday. You are left with a good variety of towels but would suggest you use the downstairs shower for power rather than the upstairs shower. You can walk to the Waterfront Restaurant or Sailors Inn along the coast as well as village shops. It is not a seaside village but a good location for visiting Suffolk. Would suggest you get the car to The Five Bells Inn near Southwold. Watch out for the estate caretaker who walks around ensuring all rules are obey - even though you won't have heard of them. I agree with the review in June that the place does need a clean - it was cleaner when I left it than when we arrived.

This is not a second home but a holiday home and so has little differences. For example there is no freezer and the microwave is also the grill and oven. Having said that there was everything that we needed. Seascope is on a small holiday estate that is very well maintained and peaceful. Shops (including a chippy) are half a mile away. The Waterfront Restaurant (very good and reasonably priced) and the Sailors Home Pub (busy but good food in large portions and reasonably priced) are three quarters of a mile away. The cleaning was the only slight downside - it was adequate but not as thorough as it might have been. We needed to move the settee to recover something and that hadn't been done for a while. Underneath the double bed hadn't seen a vacuum cleaner for a some time either. These were very minor points and overall the cleaning was fine. The rental price was very competitive and we'd go again.

We found the property lovely and clean, there is no conventional oven or freezer the area is very quiet an excellent place to take your dog really dog friendly. Firstly, our impression was, everything is just as the ads said, and more! There were lovely surprises in many cupboards, the special care and attention made all the difference to our stay from the outset. The location was easy to find and all the people we met were friendly. The accommodation lent itself to whatever the weather, it was up to it. The view from the main bedroom was nothing short of stunning! However, our stay was blessed with fab weather. All in all we look forward to booking again. Although we also want to try other sites, with Sykes of course. Very happy memories!

Unique coastline. Good view. Not a typical beach front for bathing etc but relaxing and slightly wild. There are many historically interesting and attractive places nearby. I feel close to older cultures when I move around the churches, pubs and broads. I am a big fan of Ronald Blythe, the local author whose books have lived with me ever since I started reading him thirty years ago. I found brasses in churches that I had rubbed thirty years ago so it was pretty special.

We enjoyed it from the moment we arrived, it was better than expected. We felt whatever the weather it could not hinder any of the location's enjoyment. There were great views of the sea.
