Mr Price
September 2020
Cottage with great view to Long Mynd from the large window in the main room.. Good sized accommodation for four with all facilities including hot tub in the garden. Only a hundred yards or so from the High Street including the excellent Castle hotel, Three Tuns pub/brewery and the take away. It was my third holiday in or by Bishop's Castle - an historic small town in the wonderful Shropshire Hills. A deeply rural and scenic area. Easy also for mid-Wales. Friendly owner of the property. A great corner of this fascinating town.

The cottage was fantastic.. Very clean with everything you needed for a week's holiday. Within easy reach of the local town for pubs and local shop. Adrian the owner was excellent, friendly and helpful with information. Hot tub was brilliant.

Booked to stay just after lockdown for a 3 night stay. Apartment fully equipped with everything you need. Hot tub available for use and very relaxing. Bishop's Castle is a lovely little village with a few pubs all within walking distance of the apartment. We were unlucky with the weather but looking forward to returning soon. Thank you Adrian

Apartment was lovely and very comfortable everything you needed but the garden was a bit of a disappointment the garden furniture had seen better days the summer house seemed to be a dumping ground for old garden furniture so was not for purpose also balcony furniture was unusable could not comment on hot tub as we did not use it ..

It was like a home from home.. Adrian, the owner was lovely and made us feel so welcome. It had everything you needed- salt, pepper, slow cooker, toastie maker, washing up liquid, games and jigsaws. I've been to other lodges and never had the amount of equipment or little extras that this place had. We had the sun loungers out in the garden, played tennis on the tennis courts and enjoyed the hot tub. The area around was a bit hilly but was fine to us. There's also a big childrens park at the bottom of the hill if it's a dry day. We loved our stay here! Well done Adrian!

Fantastic cottage in great location with excellent facilities and very well equipped.. The lovely garden with hot tub and tennis courts were a real bonus. Only a few minutes walk from Bishop Castle High street and lots of lovely walks from the door. Would definitely recommend.

Good welcome from owner, lots of local knowledge.. Very convenient to walk into town but open views to countryside. Plenty to do in town especially with the festival events
September 2019
This is a light and airy apartment/ cottage in a lovely location. It is exceptionally well equipped for self catering. It has beautiful views over Long Mind from its floor to ceiling lounge window.there is a wood burner with logs for cooler days. The bedrooms are large and both have a bathroom which is a bonus. The double bed bedroom has its own balcony with table and chairs. The apartment was clean and very welcoming. There is the added bonus of a garden , summerhouse, garden furniture, barbecue and a super hot tub. Ideal for relaxing after a day out strolling around lovely Bishops Castle or enjoying one of the super walks directly from the property. The tennis court, with equipment is also very enjoyable for a game. The apartment is a short walk from the main area of Bishops Castle where cafes, shops and excellent pubs/restaurants can be found. The owner is welcoming, friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. All in all a marvellous place to stay and we hope to return.

The environment is gorgeous, with such ease of access to so many wonderful places of interest, cycle rides and walks.. Our accommodation was superb, we had absolutely everything we needed, with the bonus of a hot tub to ease ourselves at the end of a busy day. Our host was so attentive and helpful, and Bishops Castle is an undiscovered gem.

Lovely cozy cottage in an excellent location.. Lovely, spacious and very clean. Some lovely walks from the doorstep, pubs and shops in walking distance. Lots of useful information in the cottage. The hot tub is a wonderful treat and well maintained. The owner is very friendly and helpful. My only recommendation would be a few basic condiments would be helpful and some lights near hot tub. This was my second stay here and I’ll definitely be returning.

Fabulous location.. Accommodation was perfect for our long weekend away with our 8 month old baby. High chair and travel cot available at the cottage. Adrian recommended a walk up Bury Ditches which was a lovely walk we even managed to take the pram up there, stunning views once we reached the top. Would definitely stay here again.

August 2018
The cottage is very well maintained and clean.. The bedrooms are of a good size, both en suite with showers. The garden is small but enclosed and includes a hot tub which is quite big. The surrounding area is very picturesque and we had a lovely week visiting the local sites of interest. Bishops Castle is an old quaint village with a good supply of shops. But beware it is very hilly and quite a climb from the cottage to the top of the village. However persevere and it will be worth it. The Three Tuns is worth a visit for food and the brewery next door which provides the ale!
Mr Paterson
April 2018
For anyone with mobility issues the town is hilly and the cottage is at the bottom of a steep hill, this was not a problem for us but maybe for other visitors..
January 2018
Stayed many times, last 2 visits November 2017 and January 2018, never disappoints. Hot tub great after 13 mile walk in the snow on long mynd. It's a bit weird running across garden in the snow wearing just a swimming costume. Great location, only few minutes walk from any of the pubs, and there are a Few in Bishops Castle - never usually get further than Three Tons and Castle Hotel but this time also got to 6 Bells and Boars Head, and both very nice. Would recommend and are going again March 2018.
January 2018
Very clean and spacious property and the hot tub was just great.. Only reason we would not book it again is because we like going to different places

August 2017
The location of the cottage is ideal for walking or cycling, with no need to use the car if you prefer not too. The town of Bishop Castle has everything you need with plenty of pubs to visit. We ate at the Boars head pub, the food was excellent as were the owners, very welcoming. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you need, the log burner and hot tub were great at the end of the day after a long bike ride. Would definitely recommend this cottage.
June 2017
Don't bother going here place is filthy couldn't even go in hot tub the canopy was covered in green algae and if I could have found a mower I would of cut the lawn.Never book with Sykes again complained to them and haven't even had the courtesy to reply.i

Stayed many times and always great. Location of apartment perfect for Bishops Castle, especially Three Tuns PH and Castle Hotel. Apartment always clean and furnished beautifully, log burning fire fab after walk on long mynd and once you have been in hot tub.

This is our second stay at this property - our first being three years ago. We enjoyed it just as much as we did previously. We would stay there again. The owner is very welcoming. The hot tub is a great way to relax after a day of walking in the area. The property is in the perfect location for exploring.

A comfortable, pleasant apartment. The heating was good, and we particularly appreciated the wood burning stove on a cold, wet night! The showers were powerful and efficient. Communication with the owner was excellent; his friendly, informative approach made an essential contribution to the success of the holiday.

A beautiful apartment with a lovely wood burner fire. The property was very well equipped, everything provided for you. Hot tub was amazing, lovely warm, great to get in after being out on a cold January day. The owner was very welcoming and helpful. We loved Bishops Castle, it is a very old historic town with great pubs, food friendly people.

December 2015
This was an excellent flat with street level access for the disabled and easy bathroom facilities. The lounge was great; large and light with plenty of comfortable seating. The place was very warm with copious hot water for a winter holiday. All the amenities were top notch. The owner went out of his way to make our stay comfortable. The location was great; on the edge of the town with views out across to the Long Mynd but close to all local amenities.
Mrs Mckenna

Liked the hot tub and the peace and quiet, the owner was very helpful. Also liked the general location and the lovely apartment. We will be back.

August 2015
Because of our large party, we rented the Brewhouse as an addition to the Old Schoolhouse - giving us maximum flexibility of accommodation and a haven for the most senior members of the family. All the facilities were excellent - and our stay was much enhanced by the support that we had from a most welcoming owner.
Mrs Goringe
May 2015
We loved our trip. Enjoyed the hot tub, tennis and local pubs and shops! A great apartment with a good lounge/seating area to play games and chat with friends.
Mrs Gardiner
March 2015
The cottage is a little gem in the lovely market town of Bishop's Castle. The hot tub was a real delight; the place to be for an early morning coffee or a glass of bubbly at night.
March 2015
A lovely cottage on the edge of the market town of Bishops Castle. It has everything you need and a little extra. The hot tub is a real delight and fantastic for that early morning coffee or relaxing after a day exploring the area (I can recommend Lake Vyrnwy, beautiful). The cottage was roomier than expected with a large lounge and two good sized bedrooms. The wood burner was lovely and there was plenty of fuel provided. Bishops Castle is a nice little town and I would definitely stay here again.

July 2014
The location was excellent to either stop at the accommodation or venture out, we did both. The countryside and roads were great to travel on, mainly enhanced by the scenery. To have access to a hot tub was excellent in lovely surroundings. The list goes on..
June 2014
Convenient location for our activities and a very comfortable base. Loved the hot tub!

May 2014
The location of the property was ideal. The cottage owner was extremely helpful and friendly. The property was very comfortable and well equipped - one of the best self catering properties I have stayed in. Hot tub was a wonderful bonus.
March 2014
We would strongly recomend this place to stay. Very clean and cosy. The town is a bit quiet, was difficult to find a place to eat on Sunday, so you better plan in advance :)
Mrs Pollard
December 2013
The property was situated close enough to the lovely town centre that was full of friendly locals, but just far enough away to have you think that the setting was more rural offering privacy, peace and quiet. The property was excellent and had everything that was needed! We did meet the owner who was very welcoming, as too were everyone that we encountered over the short break. In conclusion we would definitely come back again

June 2013
We have stay here twice within four weeks, the accommodation is of the highest standard, there is everything you think of to make your stay perfect. The standard of furnishings in the apartment are high quality, which gives you a sense of luxury which makes your breakaway even more special as you feel like you are renting a luxury apartment. The kitchen is again high quality with everything you could need to create a filling meal after a day exploring the beautiful surroundings, the added bonus of a slow cooker is fantastic and the dishwasher also makes it more of a rest not having to do the the dishes after a meal. The log burner with the endless supply of logs made for cosy evening, as well as the hot tub which was a fantastic way to start and end the day with complete relaxation. The owner of the apartment was so helpful and welcoming, and really cared that you were comfortable and enjoyed your stay. All in all we had two fantastic holidays and would recommend it to anyone visiting Shropshire as nowhere could match the standard of holiday accommodation on offer.

The owner gave us a very warm welcome and the cottage was great with lots of space and luxurious furnishings. The hot tub was to die for - we really didn't want to leave!
September 2012
A very well appointed let with a super hot tub in the garden which allowed views of the Shropshire countryside. The bedrooms were luxuriously set up with TVs and i-pod docks. The kitchen was satisfactory (a few more utensils would have been useful). The location in relation to the town was ideal with a five minute walk into the centre. A wide range of hostelries and cafes was present. The garden was a relaxing place to while away the evening although the road noise was a little intrusive.
Mrs Fisher
August 2012

The garden and hot tub was a great success, shame our tennis skills did not do justice to the court. Very close to amenities and some excellent pubs/restaurants.

July 2012
We appreciated the personal approach adopted by the owner who lives close by. The location proved ideal as a base for a walking holiday and was also peaceful at night. Facilities of particular value: separate utility room (ideal place to dry out our walking clothes), comfortable bed (I wanted to take it home!), the outdoor hot tub, and iPod docks in every room.
Mrs Boydens
July 2012
Everyone was friendly and helpful. Close proximity to very good pubs and restaurants etc., everything you might need was within walking distance. The property was just right for us, very comfortable - the hot tub outside, parking, the location - we just liked everything about The Schoolhouse Brewhouse. The Owner made sure a friend came to welcome us as he was unable to initially, and later was friendly and helpful but not intrusive. Would love to go back and stay there again.
