Booked for my friends hen weekend. We were greated by Marianne on arrival and from there on it was a brilliant weekend. Only wish we could have had the Monday off work and stayed the 3rd night. Would recommend the barns.

Beautiful cottage, well equipped, can highly recommend
September 2020
Although a little isolated from shops, The Milking Parlour is in a great location to explore the countryside and is situated next to an alpaca farm! The accommodation was spacious and clean and perfect for our weekend group stay. The hot tub was a great addition and was much enjoyed. I would be very happy to visit again.
September 2020

We travelled from the Falkland Islands to spend Christmas in UK with family. This property was perfect for this, plenty of space and lovely scenery. We enjoyed our stay very much and the hot tub.

A superb property - ten of us spent a weekend at the Milking Parlour for my wife’s 50th.. Lots of thoughtful touches on arrival (such as milk, wine and a very nice victoria sponge), great layout and fantastic facilities. Dealt with Marianne and Chloe at the site before arrival, their support and advice was spot on regarding taxi and pub recommendations. Overall, very impressed - thanks for a great weekend!

I have absolutely no complaints about The Milking Parlour but because I had the property for a week I was having a changeover of guests from family to friends.. I needed to get a change of bedding for those rooms but I was told categorically ‘No’ by the girl at Sykes who said it would be like having two bookings ( I don’t think so). I later found out - after having the washing machine on several times - that this is a service that the Milking Parlour offer!

Had a lovely weekend away with a group of friends we had a lovely time.. The cottage was lovely actually better than I was expecting from the pictures. We had plenty of bathrooms and the homemade cake was a lovely touch! The only few suggestions I have are some of the beds were a bit uncomfortable I could feel the springs in my mattress so wasn’t the most comfy sleep. Also would be useful to provide additional towels to use in the hot tub or alternatively suggest guest bring their own. We would certainly return the cottage was clean and homely and we really enjoyed our stay.

The Milking Parlour provided a great place for our annual family summer holiday.. We loved the layout of the property and all the bath/shower facilities. The bedrooms provided a suitable mix of sleeping arrangements for our three generation group. The beds were large but a little too soft for some of us! The kitchen area, though quite compact, was very well equipped. Throughout the property there were plenty of comfortable places to sit; around the dining table, in the lovely open lounge area and outside on the enclosed, private patio. The grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and the shared games room. We very much appreciated being allowed to walk the dogs in the field opposite our holiday home. There were so many interesting places to visit in the local area that we were never short of something to do and we wished we’d had a few more days to explore this beautiful, peaceful area. The owners were very welcoming and helpful.

We were all really pleased with our holiday cottage and the efficiency of Sykes's organisation.. We would certainly use you again and recommend you to others but have unsubscribed for now as we found your emails far too frequent.

Fabulous lodge, great for large groups.. Marianna looks after us very well, from checking in on us the first evening, to the extra touches in the lodge. Our second visit for a pre family Christmas. We also booked the lodge next door, as there were 13 of us. Marianna made contact with us the week before our arrival and made arrangements for plenty of table space, crockery and glasses! Would highly recommend.

If you are looking for a venue for a large family celebration, then look no further! This cottage along with the other 4 are all finished beautifully and packed with character. The provisions in the kitchen were excellent and the home made cake and wine were a lovely special touch! The games barn or the 'party room' as we called it - is where all 38 of us joined together in the evenings to celebrate my 40th birthday, which was ideal and then the hot tubs were the cherry on the cake. Set in an idyllic location surrounded by countryside and has lots of lovely walks to blow the cobwebs away! The owner, marianne was so helpful throughout the lead up to the weekend- answering all the little questions I had. I can't recommend this place enough - don't think twice about booking your break here.. you won't be disappointed.

April 2016
We recently holidayed in the milking parlour - 10 adults and one child. The barn is very very comfortable with loads of space, a bathroom for every room which is fantastic !!!! The hot tub was so relaxing after spending all day walking all the fantastic trails all on your doorstep. Flounders folly is a must, the views are fantastic!!!! We were even welcomed with a freshly made cake ! All in all this is a fantastic barn with loads of space and very warm and cosy !! Definitely worth a revisit in the future !

We recently spent a long weekend at the Milking Parlour with all our family to celebrate a 60th birthday. The accommodation was fantastic, everything we hoped it would be and more. Couldn't wish for anything better. We thoroughly enjoyed out stay. The hot tub was brilliant. We definitely would return and are already looking forward to it.

We stayed here over New Year with friends. We had two families in the Milking Parlour and another family in the Cowshed. The cottages were beautiful and spotless. I hate the cold and had packed lots of warm clothing but these cottages were very warm and cosy. The owner is very accommodating and set up our dining area so that all three families and children could eat together. Our dogs were also made welcome. The location is lovely and rural and with no mobile signal you really do get a chance to relax away from the outside world. The weather was not kind to us but there was plenty of room to relax in the cottage and the kids made use of the barn play room. We really did have a lovely time and the cottage is so perfect I would love to have a home just like it! Thank you to Marianne for making us feel so welcome and the homemade mince pies were amazing :-)
Mrs Booton
January 2016
It was an absolutely gorgeous place to stay. We would definitely stay again. There was 10 in our party and there was plenty of space for everyone without us being on top of one another, such a spacious property throughout. It was hard to leave on departure day as we had all become so comfortable there. We will definitely be returning!

We had a fantastic holiday at The Milking Parlour. There were 11 of us plus 2 dogs, and the property was comfortable and beautifully done. We shall be back!
Mrs Dudley
June 2015
The holiday cottage was thoroughly enjoyed by all 10 visitors and the 2 dogs. It was perfect for dogs as there was an enclosed garden, so it was easy to let them out, and there were two large fields at the back of the cottage for dogs to play. The owners were very kind and helpful if we had any enquiries. Would recommend to all will be returning next year. There was adequate parking space for all cars. Overall, very much enjoyed it, thank you for a lovely break.
Mrs Mcneil
May 2015
We loved everything, there was so much space even when full. A bathroom to each bedroom and the hot tub was an added bonus. The surrounding area was beautiful, so many walks to do. The owners were very helpful in pointing you in the right direction for anything you need.
Mrs Johnston

March 2015
Perfect for a family group to all get together. It was well laid out for a large group of guests. Had a large TV and the hot tub was a fabulous addition. All bedrooms were lovely with comfortable beds and pillows. The wood burner was great and made evenings cosy and snug, we all had a great time and would definitely use this house again.

December 2014
It was an amazing property, located in middle of fields, so had stunning views and was quiet. Decorated to a high standard, each bedroom had it's own bathroom (either en suite or next door) and the lounge/kitchen area was spacious and encouraged socialisation. Had a well equipped kitchen and the hot tub was lovely. All 10 of us loved our Christmas getaway.
December 2014
10 of us stayed in the milking parlour for our annual Christmas getaway. It is isolated surrounded by fields, stunning views and blissfully quiet (until we arrived!!) exactly what we wanted. The accommodation is finished to an extremely high standard. Every room has it's own bathroom, either em suite or next door to bedroom. Well equipped kitchen. All of us loved the house, it was so beautiful and exceptionally designed. The service was amazing, welcome gifts and the owners were accommodating and friendly. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Mrs White
October 2014
The property was lovely with plenty of space for 9 of us to wander about and not be in each others pockets. The games room and gym was excellent for all ages and weathers. Everyone loved the hot tub. The owners were very receptive/welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.
September 2014
This is an excellent property if you want a break away from it all, surrounded by beautiful countryside, a place where you can fully rest and relax. The standard of the property was high with everything you need. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The weekend was made perfect by the brilliant sunshine and the outside Hot Tub.
Mrs Winzar

April 2014
My wife and I along with Izzy our black Labrador stayed at the Milking Parlour in February. The cottage is well placed for visiting the east coast towns of Bridlington ,Scarborough and Filey. As well as all the other little places in this beautiful area. The cottage is one of a small number of cottages all of the same high quality run by very nice and friendly owners. I would and have recommended these cottages to anyone wanting a home from home short break or longer holiday in this area. We will certainly booking again.
Mrs Craig
March 2014
Beautiful property, friendly owners and very well equipped. The standard of furnishings, kitchen and bathrooms was fantastic.
Mr Fox
March 2014
Very good standard of building and equipment. Excellent central heating, showers and bath facilities. Games room and hot tub very popular with all the family. We were given use of an adjacent field for the grandchildren and dogs to play - great. Plenty of parking for three cars.
Mrs Riches
February 2014
This ' parlour' was perfect, great facilities, very comfortable, tastefully decorated and finished to a high standard. Three families shared the house for the weekend and never once felt cramped. The kids and adults alike loved the hot tub, brilliant weekend. My only regret is that we could not have stayed longer, maybe next time? Church Stretton is a must to visit, awesome hill walking and some lovely looking shops, pity we went on a Sunday when most were closed!
February 2014
This place is beautifully finished, handsomely decorated and the perfect place for our great weekend away with friends including children from 4 up to 15! Facilities amazing, nothing left unthought of, clean and spacious, the hot tub a particular favourite! The beds are the only bed I've slept in which matches the comfort of my own. Could not fault it and the wine, flowers, chocolate and homemade cake a gorgeous touch! Church stretton close by provided the perfect place to hill walk, beautiful scenery and a waterfall included, so much fresh air and great to come back to the log burner and fire. Would love to return!
January 2014
Went to the milking parlour for my 30th 8 of us. Beautiful barn conversion finished to a high standard. Each bedroom having it's own bathroom. Very clean and tidy and plenty of crockery. The hot tub was amazing as the gym and game room too. The barn was so warm too will definitely be back a great place to stay.

October 2013
Cottage in very good condition. Clean and tidy and good value for money. Owners are very friendly and hot tub is a great addition.
September 2013
The Milking Parlour is a little difficult to find along a narrow lane but when we got there it was well worth it. The place is fabulous! The welcome is warm and friendly with a bottle of wine and a huge, homemade cake. We were on a family holiday 6 adults, 2 children(14 and 10) and 1 baby. The facilities were exellent and cannot be faulted. Enough bathrooms for everyone and more crockery than you could ever need. Some holiday home say they sleep 10 people but only have crockery for 8! The location was just what we were looking for Ironbridge and Ludlow are lovely places even for children. There is plenty to do snd see but the house is large and comfortable enough to spend the day there and the games room and play field kept the children occupied. We couldn't get a mobile signal which suited us but there is a land line and broard band in the house. As for the sleeping fabulous bedrooms. Large rooms all with proper hanging space and hangers!! This was one of the best holidays we have ever been on. One week and we were all totally relaxed.
Rev Whitehead
August 2013
High quality accommodation.

July 2013
The property was overall excellent. The welcome from the owners was superb and they could not have been more helpful. My grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed the games room and the hot tub was a bonus. One excellent feature was the provision of a great supply of crockery, cutlery and kitchen equipment. The whole property was way above our expectations and was excellent value for money!
Mrs Highfield
June 2013
Beautiful accommodation finished to a very high standard. We liked the fact that each bedroom had its own bathing facilities either a en-suite or separate bathroom and there was always a supply of hot water. The hot tub was an added bonus! There were 10 adults and a baby in our party and the cottage was lovely and spacious with plenty of room for all. We would definitely recommend the Milking Parlour to anyone wishing to visit this area. The cake, wine and chocolate on arrival was a lovely gesture. Many thanks!!
Mrs Bradbury
May 2013

April 2013
We were lucky enough to have found this place for my mums 60th, we consisted of 2 families with children and a grandmother. Every detail had been thought of the accomodation was luxury, so comfortable. The place was beautifuly quiet, surrounded by great countryside. we could walk our dog from the door and there was a lovely enclosed outside area with the hot tub. sadly the weather did not allow outdoor entertaining although we made good use of the hot tub!. the owners and family were so welcoming and helpful if needed. It was so nice to go to a luxury cottage with our dog who are so often excluded. However dont be put off if you are not a dog owner the cleanliness and standards of the place are incredible and dont suffer from the use by the furry friends. (unlike some places i have been to before). Dont be put of by its quiet area, thats its charm and i cant recommend this place enough
April 2013
This holiday cottage was a fabulous place for the family to get together, some from Wiltshire and others from Lancashire, everyone had plenty of their own space in this well converted milking parlour which is well maintained and includes everything you could want for on a home from home holiday. We got a very warm welcome with a lovely homemade Easter cake waiting for us on arrival. Information pack gives plenty of ideas for those that want to explore the area and for those lazy days, the hot tub was great, even the cold weather didn't put us off using it everyday. The newly converted games room is also a great idea, providing that extra available activity if you don't want to go on the fabulous walks in the area. The owners live on site at the farm and are 'there if you need them' lovely, friendly hosts - Thankyou. Founders Folly is definitely worth a visit the views from the top are Not to be missed. We have definitely got the Milking Parlour on our list for a revisit (looking at the availability for the year ahead it's a very popular place and will need to be planned well in advance) :-)
Mrs Wylie
March 2013
Top class accommodation with lovely hosts.
Mrs Martingell
March 2013
Cottage was open plan it was very warm and cosy, this turned out to be essential as it was so cold outside with snow. This was particularly important as we had a six month old baby and 80 year old parents with us who feel the cold. It was good to have a bathroom per couple as well.
Mrs Gledhill
March 2013

February 2013
A warm and welcoming host who met us with a smile. The log burning fire, hot tub and huge television all added to the luxury. I did not want to leave!!! It was perfect!!
February 2013
This place is great, as long as you know how to entertain yourselves. Very well appointed with plenty of space, although it has 5 bedrooms I would suggest only 3 are suitable for adults, 2 are very small with twin beds.
Mr Aulton
January 2013
Best self catering property I have ever been to. The owners were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. 10/10.
Mrs Frith
December 2012
Lovely warm welcome. The chocolate cake was delicious. Great space - with variety of bedrooms, and plenty of bathrooms, so flexibility for friends and families. Good base for touring the local area.
December 2012
Superb quality build for the barn conversion. Also, plenty of room, and nicely laid out. Very pleasant hosts. Location good - lots of footpaths to choose from, or even the roads as it's an isolated valley. Plenty of places to go within 10-50 miles.
