What a fantastic Christmas break. Ellie the hist made the superb cottage so special. The cottage has everything it was a home from home. An exceptionally clean and beautiful decor. Fantastic welcome goodies. Could not have wished for more. Very quite and secluded and great for a relax. Fantastic holiday for the dog owner. Only just got home and looking to book again. A must cottage to go and relax or walk and see the beautiful english scenery 10 out of 10

Our fourth visit to Ellie’s cottages and as always a warm welcome, spotlessly clean property and wonderful holiday. Our visit spanned two seasons, end of summer in shorts and T-shirt’s and beginning of Autumn with underfloor heating and log burner doing their thing. We adore this property for the peace and quiet and ideal location for the most beautiful part of Shropshire. Highly recommended.

Goosepond is a place everyone should stay at, at least once, but preferably more! What a wonderful place to stay, bigger than expected, so tastefully furnished with many personal touches. The Welcome Pack of items was the best, add to that the amazingly comfortable bed just makes your stay so special. Our stay was only for three nights, but wish it had been far more.

We have stayed in many cottages over the years and can honestly say Goosepond was the best one by far! We both said we could live easily live in it. It was very comfy and well equipped for our stay. Underfloor heating, a brilliant shower and the biggest most comfortable bed ever! It's situated in a very quiet village with plenty of interesting walks on the doorstep, but close enough to local shops (1.5 miles) and so many beautiful and historic places of interest within 15 to 30 miles. Shropshire is the most beautiful place and the cottage just made our holiday! Thank you Ellie!

Had a lovely stay.. Beautiful place. Very well equipped and extremely comfortable. We loved how spacious Goosepond was, yet was still very homely. The enclosed courtyard was gorgeous to sit in and enjoy but is also brilliant for dogs. We loved that we could open the door and know they were safe. Beautiful relaxing quiet location and perfect for touring Shropshire. We would love to return and have recommend Goosepond to friends and family.

Goosepond is a hidden gem in a little village called Woolston.. Very well equipped, cosy, spotlessly clean, with extra touches like Netflix for a cosy night in along with a log basket full of logs for the log burner, lots of reading material for local walks and a little further afield . Huge comfy bed with plenty of fluffy towels to use in the powerful shower. Underfloor heating will never allow you to have cold toes or your pets to have cold paws

My stay at this charming cottage, in the depth of winter, was a joy.. Ellie had left a generous welcome pack, and later popped in for a personal welcome. Goose pond was warm, well equipped with a fine bed and plenty of hot water and felt tranquil and airy. The surrounding countryside is stunning with good walks both on the doorstep and beyond.

Goosepond was wonderful and lived up to our expectations in every way! The cottage is stylish and the location is wonderfully peaceful. Set in a hamlet in the middle of the Shropshire countryside, you're surrounded by beautiful rolling hills and it's great for long walks with the dog. We would wholeheartedly recommend Goosepond to someone looking for a relaxing getaway in the countryside. We'll certainly be back too!

The cottage was everything we could have hoped for & the welcome pack provided by Ellie (the owner) was very much appreciated .. The super king size bed was a joy to sleep in & the shower was fabulous. Most mornings we were woken by the sound of the House Martins which were nesting outside the bedroom window. There are plenty of walks from the doorstep (details in the cottage info) further afield Shrewsbury is well worth a visit, as well as The Long Mynd & Carding Mill Valley, there are also plenty of National Trust properties in the area. We had a wonderful weeks stay & the weather was fantastic.

This is a little gem of a cottage found down a small country lane, which meant we were not troubled by any traffic noise.. Only the sounds of the country, which was mainly bird songs. The cottage is clean, modern and surprisingly spacious with everything you could need. The owner is very helpfully and gave us a beautiful welcome pack of scones, butter and jam , which was delicious. The king size bed is very comfortable and the cottage is ideally located for walking or visiting the many interesting places/sites that can be found within the local area. Would we love to go back soon.

Everything we could want was in this cottage.. The owner was very friendly and helpful. She contacted us in advance of our stay to give us some very useful information and took the trouble to call in early on in our stay to make sure that everything was alright, telling us just to call in on her if we should have any issues. The siting of the cottage was great, with many walks straight from the front door or just a short drive away. There are also many very interesting towns and villages nearby to explore. Would be very happy to go back to this area and this cottage.

We had a lovely 3 nights in Goose Pond.. It's cosy and comfy, with luxury beds, towels and home from home comforts. The layout all on one floor was perfect for our 13month old who could happily crawl around the whole place all day long. Thanks for a relaxed stay.

From the pictures it looked pretty basic but we were drawn to the location.. In reality the cottage was really gorgeous - very comfy huge bed, soft fluffy towels and bedding, huge fridge and everything you could want. The only thing that slightly let it down were the uncomfortable dining chairs but that was such a small detail it was overtaken by the rest of this great cottage. Good value for money and a little gem of a place ideally suited for exploring the Shropshire countryside and villages. We would definitely recommend it highly and we may well return!

From the helpful and informative phone call with the owner, to the warm welcome at this beautiful country retreat - this whole experience was just wonderful. For a change, decided to spend the New Year weekend at Goosepond, was amazed at the personal touches and the warm welcome including a sumptuous festive hamper and bottle of wine, and a welcome message on the blackboard, such incredible and warm personal touches that really mean a lot. Then to the accommodation itself which is perfectly located in the most idyllic spot, surrounded with lush countryside, hills, peace and tranquillity. Gorgeously furnished to a high spec finish, incredibly clean, comfortable, warm, stylish and welcoming - didn't want to leave! Would highly recommend it, and can't wait to return ourselves.

The booking process was quick and straightforward and benefited from regular email updates from Sykes cottages.. Goosepond where we stayed was just exceptional - idyllic rural location, stunning property that was clean, dry, warm, stylishly decorated to high spec and very welcoming- didn’t want to leave! The owners were also delightful and helpful, again warm and welcoming- even leaving a gorgeous festive welcome hamper and message. Our stay was truly amazing, the place was gorgeous and we’d love to return.

Our second visit , and even more enjoyable than the first! This time, there is much better WiFi, and we have come for a week instead of a weekend. Our lovely hostess, Ellie has been giving us advice on her favourite walks in the area, as well as supplying us with a generous amount of logs for the log burner. The Cottage is spotlessly clean, spacious and very well equipped. Highlights for us : The generous welcome hamper, the fabulously effective log burning stove, excellent shower, huge comfy bed, fluffy towels, coffee machine , great sized fridge freezer for self catering and especially welcome under floor heating. Despite some really cold, icy conditions we have been gorgeously warm and cosy. Perfect location to visit some beautiful places in the Shropshire hills whilst enjoying the tranquility of this rural gem. We have loved getting to know Church Stretton, The Long Mynd, The Stiperstones and Bishop’s Castle. Highly recommended for couples who like peace, walking and exploring this beautiful part of the world.

Goosepond Cottage is one of those places which really does live up to expectations. From the first friendly email from the owner, to the minute we sadly waved goodbye, this has been a lovely experience. Following the directions given, we found the cottage (in the dark) without a problem. When we arrived, the underfloor heating had been switched on and the whole cottage was lovely and warm. What a lovely touch - the welcome hamper containing local free range eggs, butter and delicious bread, home made scones and jam and milk in the fridge. The cottage is dog friendly and is located in a tiny hamlet where numerous other dogs live in a carefree environment. Perfectly located, there are lots of walks to go on without getting in the car. The scenery in the area is beautiful, whatever the weather. The cottage is very tranquil and relaxing, in an ideal spot to explore the surrounding area of the Long Mynd, Craven Arms, Ludlow, Church Stretton and so on. Perfect for walkers and nature lovers. The cottage is very well appointed, with a cook-friendly kichen area, log burner, big fridge-freezer and a Super Kingsize bed. Piles of towels were provided, the bed was superbly comfortable, fitted with hotel quality bed linen. Free WiFi and a well-equipped TV, with Amazon FireStick for NetFlix, music, etc. This review would not be complete without mentioning the water, which is supplied from a local spring. Beautiful, soft, pure water that just tastes fantastic. Would we go back? Yes, definitely! We can't wait. Would we recommend? Absolutely. Grab yourself a little piece of rural Shropshire life.

We and our dog had a lovely 3-night break at Goosepond and will definitely be back. The cottage is beautifully decorated, comfortable and very well equipped. It's in a hamlet and well away from busy roads, so all we heard was birdsong and sheep, yet it's easy to get to Church Stretton and the Long Mynd, Ludlow, Bishops Castle etc. Plenty of good walking (including short walks from the doorstep for evening dog walks with a view!) and attractive little towns to keep us occupied. Highly recommended.

We had a brilliant 3 days at Goosepond.. The cottage is very comfortable, very well equipped and beautifully decorated. Ellie, the owner, is very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Goosepond is conveniently situated for exploring Shropshire, about 5 miles from Church Stretton and the Long Mynd. There are several lovely short walks from the door, ideal for a stroll with the dog early in the morning or after a day out. We had good, reasonably warm weather so didn't need to use the log burner, but hope to return at another time of year and snuggle up beside it!

Situated in a sleepy rural hamlet , ideally located for touring this beautiful part of Shropshire, Goosepond is a superbly appointed property. Featuring spacious accommodation, all on one level, tastefully decorated with some luxury touches to make your stay special. The superbly efficient log burner brings a welcome warmth on cooler evenings, whilst the underfloor heating makes this an ideal year round holiday property. There are simply three rooms, a kitchen/diner/lounge, a bathroom and a bedroom. All rooms are attractively spacious, and are decorated with a modern fresh touch. The kitchen is well equipped for cooks, with hob, oven, generously sized fridge freezer and full sized dishwasher. The bathroom has a great shower over the bath, heated towel rail and underfloor heating. The lounge area is focussed on the lovely log burner which was delightfully easy to use. So many properties for couples are cramped and compromise on appliances and equipment, but not Goosepond. There is even a proper pull out bed underneath the super King zip and link should you require it. We found the property private and peaceful, even with other properties being close by. The warmest of welcomes from the lovely owners made us feel at home right away. Home made cakes and jam, fresh flowers, and luxury toiletries complemented our stay perfectly. Highly recommended for visiting the many attractions of this wonderful area.
