We spent 2021 NYE here and it is such lovely accommodation in a beautiful and picturesque place. The lodge is perfect for a getaway break with views for miles and every comfort you have at home. Also the hot tub is awesome in such a good spot. Can't wait to revisit!

This is an absolutely fantastic location and holiday rental. The barn itself is top notch in terms of design, furnishings, cleanliness and everything you could need. The views from the hot tub and decking are amazing. Tim is a perfect host being next door - available for any queries if needed. The gifts on arrival were very welcome thank you! Anyone considering coming here should understand that it is down a single track, which was a bit scary on the initial drive, but you quickly get used to it and you wouldn't get the peace and the views without it. Plenty of restaurants and things to do in the area. Great holiday thank you!

We're a family of four & enjoyed our stay here in Bishop's Castle! A great barn conversion with a hot tub all with great views of the Shropshire countryside. Friendly, welcoming hosts & the barn was extremely well equipped & we felt very safe in this current climate!

Quality accommodation in a very rural setting along a gated track.. A comfortable grown up space offering peace and quiet with lovely country views ideal for couples. Bishop’s Castle is a great base for walking and cycling with lots of country pubs in the area. Planning required. We had a lovely stay enjoying the glorious weather and jumping into the hot tub after a day out walking and cycling. Hosts live next door and provided helpful accurate information in advance of our stay which is really comforting in these Covid times. Highly recommended if you like to get away from it all.

Our second visit and it was as good if not better than the first.. The landlord was very helpful getting our shopping order sorted for us so it was all there ready when we arrived. The cottage was spotless and had everything we wanted. Warm, comfortable and very peaceful. A great place to get away from it all.

A perfect cosy, retreat with a modern twist and a complete get away from everything if that is what you want and after 10 miles on Offa's Dyke, the hot tub was a real treat.. The surrounding views from the barn are superb and the visits from the local sheep every morning was a pleasure to see. Sadly, we were a bit too early for the imminent arrival of their lambs. Bishops Castle is a great little town, boasting 6 pubs individual shops. Great to see there had been no invasion of any high street shops. I would definitely recommend that wonderful property.

Our holiday was fantastic.. The views, the accommodation, the beds and the hot tub all great and made our stay an absolute pleasure. I had fantastic company. Definitely one of my top holidays I've ever been on. I have been to many different places around the world and this one was the most relaxing. Also the jam and cake on arrival made us happy. Thank you Tim and Andrea.

April 2019
We had a fantastic weekend in the barn.. We made full use of the BBQ and the hot tub, as well as the amazing surrounding countryside. We did a lovely 9 mile walk on the Saturday and then walked to a great pub called Bishop's Castle hotel, which the owner recommended us. Great beer garden! The barn was such a fantastic space, just right for the 4 os uf, with all the amenities you need. We loved how separate hot tub towels were provided, and the amazing shower and bluetooth speakers in the mirrors! Tim himself was lovely and very accomodating, answering all our queries promptly. We would highly recommend!!

The property has parking for one car but we were not aware that sheep had access to the parking area and they fast became a nuisance after licking the grit off the road they proceeded to lick and rub themselves all over the car which was covered in slobber and sheep muck.. We had no idea what damage if any they were doing. Cars are an expensive piece of equipment and not something we would have parked with livestock. Tim and Andrea have no control on the sheep in the field but the parking area needs to be made secure from farm animals. We received no damage to the paint work on the car but the experience spoilt what would have been a 5* holiday in all departments.

It had fantastic views which we loved so much.. It had everything you needed and more. The only thing which I can say about was the sofa in the lounge was not very comfortable , especially when you’ve been on a long walk , you just want to get cosy.

Bishop Castle barn is in a stunning setting and equipped to a very high standard, we found it very comfortable and warm during the cold weather during our stay.. To access the property care needs to be taken as it is single track with poor road surface but once you get there it is worth it.

September 2018
Lovely setting so peaceful and secluded but with all mod cons.. Great cottage and very welcoming owners. There is a dirt track down to the cottage but this was no problem. The views are to die for and we were very warm and comfortable. The hot tub is a great treat when you have been walking or driving all day.

We have just enjoyed a very relaxing week at Bishops Castle Barn.. The Barn is accessed along a single track road then down a private, steep track but its location allows you to enjoy some stunning views in splendid isolation and all less than a mile Bishops Castle. The facilities are excellent from the high spec gadgets in the Barn to the sole use of the excellent large hot tub. The owners of the Barn make you feel very welcome and are on hand if you need them otherwise, your privacy is respected at all times. The setting really is beautiful with far reaching uninterrupted views on your doorstep and from a cleverly framed kitchen window. It almost makes washing the dishes a pleasure! (Although there is a dishwasher too). If you don't fancy driving, there are public footpaths nearby including one into Bishop's Castle itself where The Castle Hotel (and on a sunny day, its garden) and Three Tuns Pub are especially worth a visit. A little more outdoor space that wasn't shared with the sheep would have been nice but there is a lovely decking area by the hot tub and we very quickly felt relaxed and at home which is not something you can always say after a few days away! Many thanks to Tim and Andrea.

We had a fantastic holiday at Bishops Castle Barn.. The facilities and views of the surrounding area were brilliant. We only travelled 26 miles from Home to have this holiday, but it shows that you don't need to go far to enjoy yourselves! Shropshire really is a hidden gem. The Hot Tub was a luxurious bonus. Many Thanks to Tim and Andrea, who were there if we needed them.

Had a fantastic week at Bishop’s Barn which is a real home from home. The way the barn has been converted makes the living area extra special with beautiful views across into Wales. The hot tub is an added bonus and we had many a lazy hour enjoying the bubbles. There is so much to do on the doorstep that there is no need to travel far if you don’t want to, lovely walks and great restaurants all within 10 minute drives. We had a truly relaxing week and would thouroughly reccommend this property. We will be going back as this is now our favourite area of the country and best accommodation we have found.

We have just enjoyed a fabulous 2 week holiday at Bishops Castle Barn. The Barn is in an ideal location to enjoy some of the best views in Shropshire; and the vista as you drive down the steep track to the property is worth the cost of the holiday alone! The facilities offered are excellent and the sole use of the large Hot Tub is a perfect addition to your break. The owners of the Barn are on hand if you need them; otherwise your privacy is respected at all times. The Barn is also ideally situated to visit the many attractions within a 40 minute drive. I hope anyone who books a holiday at Bishops Castle Barn has as good a time there as we did. We only travelled 26 miles from Home to have this holiday, and it shows that you don't need to go far to have an amazing time! Shropshire really is a hidden gem! Many Thanks to Tim and Andrea.

This was our third stay in the barn and this time we found the house very tastefully decorated ready for Christmas. Everything we could imagine we might need was provided and some things we didn't know we needed (Bluetooth speakers in the bathroom mirror!) but do now! The Barn is a great base for walking or just exploring the Shropshire Hills. The town of Bishops Castle has good pubs, including the Castle Hotel and The Three Tuns and we can recommend The Ganges Indian Restaurant (need to take your own alcoholic drinks.) Still more to explore than we had time for... We will most definitely be back!

We had a wonderful, relaxing mini-moon at Bishop's Castle Barn- the perfect antidote to a couple of hectic weeks.. The barn had everything that you could possibly need with plenty of thoughtful extra touches that made you feel like the owners really go the extra mile to ensure guests enjoy their stay. The location was perfect- very peaceful with stunning views across the countryside. No noise apart from the owls. Sitting in the hot tub and looking up at the sky was an incredible experience and we're so thankful to the lovely owners for allowing us to stay. They even gave us a card and some bubbly for our one-week wedding anniversary, which we loved. We'd definitely come back again :)

The venue is perfection.. Location is peaceful and relaxing. Layout is perfect, bedrooms downstairs, living area upstairs results in spectacular views enjoyed throughout. Decoration is modern yet still relaxing and comfortable. The bathrooms are state of the art, love the rain showers. The bedroom on ground floor has a lovely knigsized bed, so comfortable. We have slept so well here. Not used the bedroom on lower floor. Star gazing is wonderful, no light pollution. The hot tub has been a real treat. The venue is in the middle of beautiful countryside located via a rural road. Yet only a few minutes from Bishops Castle village. Walks are from the doorstep. We are using the venue to sight see in general and visit more National Trust houses. The surrounding countryside is outstanding whatever direction you travel. There are DVDs, books, games and a drawer full of local information. We are really enjoying our relaxing, recharging time here.

Nothing beats a holiday to Bishops Castle Barn! Myself and my other half have spent 30ish nights at The Barn over 4 trips and we've got out fifth booked in. We love to go there to recharge our batteries and make the most of the English countryside. The hot tub is the perfect end to any day and if you get a clear night the stars are simply breathtaking. Tim, the host, is great! He's there if you need him, but never bothers you. I can't recommend this place enough!

I've just returned from my second stay at the Barn, & I'm certain it won't be my last. I last visited the Barn just before Christmas 2015, so was lovely to see the surroundings in the explosion of Autumn colour. The location itself is perfectly secluded. The owners live next door, but you'd never really know it due to the orientation of the Barn perched on the hillside. Coming from a busy city, the silence is quite notable with the only noise at all coming from the wildlife. The visually stunning panoramic views for miles around across the valley cannot be done justice by any photographs (I tried!). The seemingly endless rolling landscape is dotted with the odd sheep or cow, and you could easily sit enjoying the view & peace for hours. To that end, the wonderful addition of a raised deck with hot-tub means you can relax enjoying nature's ambience in the nice warm bubbles, from watching the sun rise to the sun set. The Barn itself is fantastically restored, & Tim's (the owner) dedication to breathing new life into it is evident in the passionate way he speaks about the restoration project. Beautifully decorated with fantastic, smart technological touches, a relatively small space feels huge with clever structural design and clean lines. Touches like the large beautifully framed view from the kitchen window make this location truly special. The Barn is an enviable place to be, & will have you wondering how to build one of your own and searching 'RightMove' for barn conversions. A short 30 minute walk along the country lanes puts you in Bishops Castle itself which is archetypal country village with pubs, independent shops, & a few spots for tea & cake. Be aware that many shops are shut on Wednesday, & Sunday roasts stop being served at 3pm! I can't really think of a bad thing to say! In all, a fantastic independently owned retreat which has peace & seclusion at its core; real fodder for the soul. Get booking.

What a fabulous find this barn conversion is. This 5 star barn sits in secluded splendour less than a mile away from the pretty Bishops Castle town. The barn is top spec throughout and we (Gina my wife and Bailey our 8 year old daughter) were impressed from the minute we saw it. Tim (the owner) is a great host and made us all very welcome. The barn is full of gadgets (I'll let you find out for yourself) and is extremely clean and well looked after. The barn will easily accommodate 4 and is very spacious. The setting is beautiful with far reaching uninterrupted views on your doorstep and great walks into town via a public footpath. The top of the range hot tub was a real winner with all of us and really does give the barn, and indeed the whole stay, the WOW factor. The WiFi connection was fast but mobile phone reception was a bit hit and miss (who cares!!). If you decide to stroll into town the castle hotel does great sandwiches between 12 and 2:30pm and apparently the dinner menu is good too. The Co-op is fine for essential supplies and relatively cheap compared to other small local chains in neighbouring villages. We would highly recommend a stay at the barn- it's ideal for anyone who likes a bit of luxury in beautiful surroundings to recharge the batteries without breaking the bank. We really felt at home and it's not often you can say that after a few days away.......We'll definitely be back!!! Byron, Gina and Bailey

We have just returned from our stay at the barn and we are sad to be home! What an amazing place, finished to the highest standard and not a single detail has been missed. The owner, Tim, was very welcoming upon our arrival and showed us around, explaining all the gadgets in the barn and how they worked. All very impressive! The views outside are truly stunning and enjoying them from the hot tub was just perfect! The surrounding area is full of beautiful scenery too, in which we enjoyed some great walks. Surrounding villages and towns also very nice and we had a lovely meal at The Castle Hotel in Bishops Castle itself. If you are thinking about booking a stay at the barn, do it! Welcomed on arrival by the owner Tim who guided us around the barn and all its features. The barn has been renovated to a very high standard and set in a beautiful location wth amazing panaramic views. The hot tub was a great feature and used in the evening to enjoy the views and stars with a little drop of vino. Bishops Castle is well equiped for food and drink with 2 local breweries in the town. Lots of local towns and villages to visit both for the history and facilities.

We received a very warm welcome from the owner who showed us around. There were lovely touches in the design of the barn. The owners have worked very hard to make any guests' stay stress free and totally relaxed, for example the amazing hot tub. Bishop's Castle Barn was within a beautiful setting with no light pollution. The only sounds we heard were from birds, trees blowing in the wind or the sound of sheep. I will treasure the experience forever.

A fantastic cottage in a beautiful location. In a lovely little village with some nice pubs for food and drinks, especially if you like your real ales. It was designed to a very high standard. It was lovely to wake in a morning to the sheep and their lambs outside, very cute! The hot tub was brilliant of an evening whilst enjoying a glass of wine under the stars. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be returning and have already booked our next visit.

Stayed at the bishops castle barn for 3 days. We wanted somewhere to get away from it all and that's exactly what we got. Stunning views and relaxation. Upon on arrival we were greeted by the owner Tim who was very welcoming, who showed us around the cottage and told all that we needed to know about where to eat and drink of an evening. Overall the cottage has been reconstructed to the highest of standards with your very own hot tub! I would without a doubt recommend this cottage!

We received a very warm welcome from the owner who showed us around..

Fantastic barn conversion in a fantastic location. The barn itself is clean, modern and furnished to a high standard - including a fully equipped kitchen, and the owner has even provided nice little touches like a selection of board games and DVDs. Outside, the hot tub has a great view over the valley with nothing more than a few sheep and the occasional bat for company - the perfect place to get away from everything and relax.

Lovely barn conversion with everything completed to a wonderfully high standard. Attention to detail throughout is stunning in every respect with everything you could possibly need including demisting mirrors in the bathrooms! Views around the property are stunning and the pictures dont do justice to what the eyes actually see... Severals ways to get down to the village where there are a couple of places to get food and drink however we did prefer to stay at the cottage, sit on the deck while enjoying the views with the bbq. Definately recomend the property!

We had the absolute privilege of being the first guests to stay at Bishop's Castle Barn and I can honestly say it was perfect in every possible way. The location is stunning, the barn is beautiful, every possible need of guests has been thought of and the hosts were so hospitable, kind, friendly and professional that you would think they had been in the business for years. Within the barn itself you have extra little touches that make it incredibly special - a digital frame showcasing photographs of the barn's refurbishment, FreeSat, DVD player, and a docking station for your music. Add to that the bathroom mirrors which are also Bluetooth capable so you can listen to your music in the shower and we were blown away. Outside, the hot tub sits on a raised deck with views over the countryside surrounding you (including the visiting neighbourly sheep!) and of a nighttime, you can relax in the hot tub looking up at the night sky as there is no light pollution at all. I have been back from the barn for a few days now and I honestly miss it so much. I can't wait to go back and will definitely be returning later this year. I can't recommend this place enough - BOOK BOOK BOOK!!
