  • "The Annex was very clean and extremely well equipped."

    It provided a very good base for visiting friends and the local area. The owners were friendly and very helpful but not intrusive. We would certainly stay there again when we want to return to the area.

This all first floor apartment is set above a garage in the owner's grounds adjacent to their home in rural Shropshire in the area of Queen's Head, four miles from Oswestry.

The accommodation is ideal for a couple who are looking for a rural retreat from which to explore Shropshire and its pretty towns and villages.

Accessed up an external staircase you step into the open plan living area which has a kitchen with a useful breakfast bar, a more formal dining area and a comfy sitting area where you can curl up with your loved one and watch a film at the end of the day.

The double bedroom is a cosy retreat and has plenty of storage space and an en-suite shower room.

Outside is a private patio area with furniture where you can sit and enjoy your peaceful surroundings.

A short walk from the property will take you to the nearby Queen's Head pub/restaurant where delicious meals can be enjoyed and the Montgomery Canal is close by which offers lovely waterside walks.

Oswestry Golf Course is nearby while Oswestry itself is an eleven minute drive away and has a large selection of shops, pubs and restaurants to choose from as well as plenty of historic attractions to fill your days.

For a different day out, Rednal Karting, Paintball and Laser is just a five minute drive away and provides entertainment for all ages.The Wynnstead Annexe is a pleasant base to return to at the end of your busy days.

Llangollen 13 miles; Welshpool 15 miles; Shrewsbury 17 miles.

The ancient border market town of Oswestry has restaurants and all usual amenities along with its extensive and well preserved hill top Iron Age fort which is great for walking and views. Historic houses and castles with beautiful grounds locally include Chirk and Powis Castle, Erddig and Attingham Park, or visit the nearby market town of Ellesmere, once described by Alan Bennet as Shropshires Lake District. Further afield lies the Welsh mountains and coast and picturesque Lakes Vyrnwy and Bala, while the World Heritage Site of Ironbridge, Medieval Shrewsbury and Roman Chester are also within driving distance.
