• "Had a lovely stay over christmas with my partner and 2 year old daughter and our cavapoo."

  Was able to cook a full christmas dinner and they had put up a lovely christmas tree and decorations for us, we had brought our own but didn't need them. Would stay again. Cottage is next to a busy road and can be noisy throughout the day and night with tractors but didn't ruin our stay or sleep. Would stay again.

• "The little cottage was lovely."

  Nicely updated but still showing features such as beams and a beautiful fireplace and stove. Everything was included for our stay lots of nice touches making it feel very homely. The only downside was the road outside the front of the property which seemed to have lots of traffic spasmodicly, a lot being heavy I.e. lorries and tractors day and night. I realise people need to work but it was the speed of the traffic that made it difficult when trying to sleep. The parking place was made impossible to use because of this so we chose to park down a side road next to the shop. Having said, we could not fault the property, just it's position.

The cottage is on the main road through the village and does have stock waggons and tractors using it. The parking is difficult but it is best to reverse in also you can drive out. Property Owner

• "Cottage was very very well equipped."

  Had everything we needed. Very cosy and comfortable. Modern and up to date kitchen and bathroom. Though it still had that olde world feeling. Wished it had a little bit more outside space to sit out. Although there was parking we decided to leave the car at Brookside Close which was not an issue and just a few minutes walk. Car is a big 4X4 and we were worried about pulling out onto main road as some traffic was pretty fast. That was the only issue. We enjoyed our stay very much. Would definitely stay again.

• "Beautiful cottage, well equipped and maintained."

  But the details should have stated that the main bedroom was not enclosed and that access to the very small second bedroom was through this main bedroom. Unfortunately we didn’t read all the previous comments as significant road traffic at first light was quite disturbing.

  Sykes did call me on someone's behalf to ask about the configuration of the bedrooms. Did say how it worked. We can put this on the description. The little bedroom does have its own door, and there is a kind of corridor space to get to the stairs but yes technically the main bedroom opens onto the same corridor. But a person going downstairs from the little bedroom would be nowhere near those sleeping in the main room. We have had friends stay with us in that room and it has not been an issue. • "Firstly I would say that Clematis Cottage is tastefully furnished and decorated and very well equipped, with good quality items and everything in the kitchen you could need ( a credit to the owners) and was very clean."

  We did have to live out of our suitcase for the week, as whilst there is cupboard in the bedroom to hang clothes I wasn't tall enough to reach (had the same issue in the kitchen cupboards) and there were no drawers in the bedroom to put undies, tshirts, jumpers in etc. Aside from the internal door from the kitchen into the bathroom and a door into a box bedroom, there are no other internal doors, so therefore if one you is downstairs watching the TV and the other is in bed the sound does carry upstairs. The property does front directly onto the road which is quite busy throughout the day and evening, including quite a few HGV's, so traffic noise could be an issue for some, along with the fact the cottage is between 2 double blinds corners, so getting onto and out of the driveway onto the road can be a bit of a challenge and hairy as you have no idea what may come round the corner. Also would suggest only a small to medium size car would fit on drive. Whilst the bed and pillows were super comfy, unfortunately the week we visited the local farmers must have been in a hurry to get their harvest in, as there were large tractors and trailers going up and down the road constantly until 3.30am, so had 3 nights on the settee reading (appreciate this is something outside the controls of the owners)

  The house is in a rural area and there are a couple of farms in the village. During the Summer months there are more tractors about and towards late Summer they are getting in the harvest. For me that adds to the rural feel of the property, but obviously it does make for some heavy traffic. three thirty a.m. is exceptional. That has not ever happened to us. It is usually very quiet during the night, but starts again quite early as farmers keep early hours. When parking it is best to reverse onto the drive so you can more easily get back off the drive. We park an estate car at the side of the house. There is a fold away step in the tall kitchen cupboard to enable you to access the top kitchen cupboards. You may not have seen it as it folds flat. • "Beautiful cottage, spotlessly clean, equipped with everything you could need and more, very comfortable quality beds, sofas etc."

  The owner has really gone the extra mile to ensure a great stay. The outdoor area is limited, however that wasn’t a problem for us, also suggest you reverse into drive or park parallel in front of the cottage as can be tricky to pull out.

  Yes agree about the reversing. Also wind car window down when coming off the drive so you can hear any traffic coming from the Montgomery end of the village. • "We loved our stay at the cottage."

  It is finished to a really high spec and had everything we could need. Parking in the drive can be a bit tricky but we got used to it quickly. The road is quite close but it didn’t keep us awake. We would recommend getting a blackout blind for the main bedroom as car lights can shine in (we improvised and covered with a blanket which worked fine). The village was lovely with a really well stocked shop just over the road. We really enjoyed our stay and felt at home straightaway. The owners have done an excellent job at making the place cosy and welcoming. It’s definitely one of the best Sykes cottages we have stayed at.

• "While the house itself was nicely presented, clean and tidy."

  Two main things should be mentioned for future visitors. 1. Wrong to say the outside space is a courtyard. It is a narrow path to the bins. So for practical purposes there is no relaxing outside space. 2. On a surprisingly busy road with passing lorries and large farm vehicles, parking is very risky and dangerous, due to the property being on a very awkward bend with poor visibility both ways.
