We booked the Maltsters House for a week in January to celebrate a reunion and 70th birthday. The house is in a superb location, minutes from the town centre and railway station. It has a large dining room and comfortable lounge with very efficient log burner. The kitchen is large and extremely well equipped, with everything you could ask for. There was even a welcome pack of wine, milk and flowers. The four bedrooms are all large and comfortable. The house is very well presented, spacious and comfortable and we had a great time. I look forward to going back soon and unreservedly recommend it

Idea location to walk to all Ludlow has to offer especially the food festival. Which was great again this year! Central to all our family who joined us. Rooms were well presented and all COVID rules are in place and followed.
Would recommend this property for gatherings and family holidays. Ludlow is a great town for culture and history

The Maltsters house ticks all of the boxes that you would expect of a holiday cottage .. Just on the edge of Ludlow which is a beautiful town full of quirky shops and varied eateries, we Loved the walk in and didn’t have a bad meal or take away. The cottage itself Comfortably accommodated 9 people, we were lucky with the weather and spent some lovely family evenings in the courtyard. Everything was spotless and there were no shortages of equipment. All Bedrooms were spacious With very comfortable beds and you could have a party in the bathroom it was massive. All in all I would recommend the cottage and hopefully it doesn’t get fully booked so we can book it again in the future.

The location of the property was very good with having local shops close by so you didn't need to rely on transport, having the free permit to park your car across the road was an added bonus.. Plenty of room within the house to accommodate 10 people.

Malster’s House was deceptively spacious, well presented and very comfortable for our group.. All the amenities within the house were clean and in good order with a good stock of crockery/cutlery.
The beds are very comfortable, and the size of the bathroom has to be seen to be believed!
Would highly recommend this property.

The cottage was lovely, comfortable with everything we need for an enjoyable stay.. We like to cook and the kitchen had all the equipment we required and it was a cosy place to stay. The location could not have been better, we had the town on our doorstep with shops, pubs and restaurants within walking distance.

The house is really comfortable and well-equipped, and we enjoyed our stay very much.. Parking is obviously an issue in Ludlow, but you can unload outside the house before moving the car to a car park, all of which charge 7 days a week.
We had difficulty lowering the temperature of the central heating so turned off the radiators where necessary, so these will need to be turned on again, I expect.
Thanks again, we had a great time.

The cottage was great.. It was in an excellent location, very comfortable, and well equipped. The parking situation is a bit inconvenient. We had to park a short distance away, in a pay and display carpark. The tariff was payable from 8am to 6pm. There was no option to pay in advance, so we had to get to the carpark to pay by 8am( except Sunday, which was free). The TVs didn't work. The owners did try to resolve this, without success. They did say that sometimes this was due to previous visitors, messing with the cables( although not in this case).Maybe this is something that could be checked before new visitors check in. There were no champagne glasses.

The house is excellent, very spacious and very well equipped.. Parking arrangements take a little time to master, but there were ample spaces in the vicinity. ( We had 3 cars between us)Ideally situated for the centre of Ludlow, just a quick stroll up the hill, close to restaurants, pubs and shops. Plenty of useful tips from the owners. A great house !

Ludlow and The Maltsters House were the perfect setting for our family gathering to celebrate our Golden Wedding.. The house has an Award for restoration and conversion to holiday letting. Everything was so well equipped and laid out. Spotlessly clean and everything in good order. What more can we say !
We would highly recommend both the house and the town.

The cottage was fitted out to an extremely high specification and very well equipped indeed.. The owner phoned me with information and recommendations a few days before our trip and also phoned me shortly after our arrival to check we were happy with everything. We had a lovely trip for Mums 90th Birthday, very happy customers.

Fabulous house in a good location, very spacious although not sure it would comfortably accommodate 10.. Storage space and toilets may be an issue. The house is very tastefully decorated and generally well equipped. The host was extremely helpful. The WiFi that was an issue in some reviews has clearly been resolved. We were unlucky to have roadworks on the busy main road directly outside the house which made it very noisy with cars waiting at the traffic lights from early morning.

Stayed here with a group of 8 friends over a weekend. The cottage is amazing, the decor is gorgeous and such a lovely welcome pack which included a bottle of wine! - Tea towels, towels, dish washer tablets, washing up liquid, everything was on hand so all we needed to stock up on was our own food and drink for the weekend. The bedrooms were lovely and a great size. The upstairs bathroom was a ballroom! In the living room there were also lots of cosy blankets for the evenings when we were sitting drinking and chatting.
The location of the house is perfect for Ludlow. 5 minutes walk to the station, 500 yds from Tesco! 5 minutes walk to the Brewery, and a very short walk to Ludlow centre. Everything was in easy walking distance.
Thank you for a lovely place to stay that made our girly weekend get together all they more enjoyable. Would highly recommend.

We wanted a large house to use as a base for a 60th birthday celebration for 9 ladies, this was more than adequate! We were taken aback by the eye for detail, having used houses filled with Ikea furniture previously, to have these lovely furnishings at our disposal was great! The lovely leather sofas with the wool blankets to snuggle into was very popular! The bathroom where a party could be held in was amazing! A well equipped kitchen topped it off, and that gorgeous long table was a brilliant for us all to sit and gossip!!!!!

Beautiful house, in an excellent location with walking distance to town which is very convenient.. The house was well appointed. An extra toilet would have been useful as we were a party of nine but other than that it had everything one could need.

As a group of mixed ages from 2 to 76 yrs old .. It met our expectations .
We had a problem with a radiator not working the owners were round to sort it out for us with in the hour.
The size of the cottage was great we weren’t on top of each other .
The 2 separate downstairs areas meant you could relax more .
Well equipped kitchen .
One feature that would help, would have been spare bedding as we had young children and accidents can happen and we didn’t have spare bedding for when this happened .
Location was great for getting out and about or staying around Ludlow.
We had days where some guests weren’t 100% to go out and about the house was a good size for people to relax in.
The centre of Ludlow just there meant they could have a wander around .

This beautiful house is on one of the main roads a stone's throw from the town centre. It's within a minute's walk of two supermarkets and just a little further to the many shops, pubs and restaurants for which Ludlow is well known The rooms were large and full of character, well furnished and made a birthday weekend a wonderful family occasion. The owners were helpful and informative. We could not have asked for better.

I took my family here for my 70th birthday. Ludlow itself is a charming town, with good delis, its own brewery and a memorable hardware shop (to me, a place isn't worth visiting if it doesn't have a big. rambling hardware shop). It's got two castles too.
The Maltster's house is perfect for a stay in Ludlow, It's comfortable, very well equipped and perfectly located (a 5 minute walk into town). It's also a 5 minute walk to the station.

A group of 9 friends stayed over a weekend here and found it was perfect for what we needed. The house is gorgeous and huge, with plenty of space for that many guests (I still can't get over the size of the upstairs bathroom) and all the facilities you need. It was a great base for us to explore Ludlow (castle, local country walks and sausage rolls from the Saturday market highly recommended) and was comfy and cosy for the cold January evenings. The only tiny negative was that the WiFi connection wasn't great, but otherwise all ideal.

Group stay with 9 girls for a weekend away to explore historic & charming Ludlow. The house is very welcoming with older character style & furnishings but with plenty of comfort. Spacious downstairs reception rooms with seating for all, workable kitchen, range of bedroom sizes including family size. 2 bathrooms (not 3 as advertised). WiFi not great but general signal in this town not good. Main road location with 4-5 spaces opposite which we did have a couple of permits for & Sunday free otherwise found council car park behind Tesco for 1st day so between town & property. Didn't actually use the small courtyard but looked nice & private but unsure what/where the 2 doors were for also similar with the extra staircase from 1st floor to attic?

In an excellent location for exploring Ludlow and its surroundings on foot and a good base for exploring the area by car. The house is very well appointed and accommodated our party of 6 adults in great comfort. The wood burner in the sitting room is a great feature - and was most welcome after a day's walking in February! Parking was easy and grocery shopping two supermarkets was just round the corner. There were many places to eat and drink within easy walking - the Unicorn pub must be one of the best in the area and is only a 2 minute stroll away.

Stayed at here with a group of friends, so we could enjoy the food delights of Ludlow.
The photos and description on the website looked great, which made us all eagerly anticipate the visit. And on arrival we weren't disappointed.
4 lovely clean bedrooms, with crisp white linen. Two beautifully appointed bathrooms and a "country style" kitchen with plenty of cooking facilities. Two living areas with a large TV in each, and a log burning stove in one. Plenty of seats and a dining table that could easily accommodate 10-12 guests.
However a niggle was that one bedroom didn't have anywhere to store clothes, (all others had a closet/wardrobe/chest, etc.). If you're staying for a week with friends not family, that's important.
The other niggle (maybe not important to all) was that the advertised wifi, was incredibly slow.
It could take over 5 minutes to download some web pages.
A great location, just a 10 minute walk up the hill to Ludlow Buttercross, which is arguably the town centre. Here you can find a vast range of small shops and markets, so you won't want for anything.
If you're more a supermarket person, there is a medium sized Tesco and Aldi about 3 minutes walk away, or a Co-op a little further away.
Ludlow is not short of places to eat, from Michelin style restaurants to cozy cafés. Just take your pick. And many are really quite close by The Maltsters. For example La Becasse, was a 3 minute walk. The Unicorn pub (highly recommended) just 2.
Parking however can be an issue if you have several cars. A permit is provided for 1 car outside. The rest have to park about a 10 minute walk away in a large council car park. Not sure we'd want leave cars there overnight though. The website says there is parking 2 minutes walk away, if this location does exist we didn't find it. We even asked the young lady who was doing the cleaning when we arrived. She said she had no idea, and that lots of people have asked her the same question!!
But overall highly recommended.
Would we return. A big yes all round.
