A lovely comfortable property, great to return to each day.. Lots of space and really well equipped. Delicious bakes as well as milk and wine left as a welcome by the owner. Hours of fun in the games room with the pool table and juke box. We will definitely return.

Recommend Sunningdale, with special thanks to Mr & Mrs Leake as Sunningdale meet all our expectations and more.. The House was very clean and we have never stayed in self catering accommodation which so well equipped, with all the little finishing touches, which were so unexpected and welcome. Mrs Leake also went out of her way to make Gluten free shortbread & lemon slices, in addition to the other cakes & biscuits which were very much enjoyed by "the other half". Thank you both. Home has beautiful gardens and we made the most of them after a day out to sit out with a cuppa on the patio, with only the sounds of the birds in the pergola. Once battle with the Covid situation has been won we hope to return to fully enjoy the wonderful historic sites that Shropshire has to offer. Would recommend Stokesay Castle, book a day tour on the Severn Valley Heritage Railway and visit RAF Cosford Museum. Did not use any of the eateries in Ludlow but did make a trip to the Ludlow Farm Shop, a little more expensive than supermarkets but the steak we bought was the best we have ever eaten.

Ideal location for walking into Ludlow.. The property is well furnished and extras, wine and homemade cakes were special. As for the games room, with 'Duke Box' what a surprise!

This was our second visit to Sunningdale, having last visited in June 2018, so we knew that it would be an excellent choice, fulfilling our every need and comfort.. Despite visiting during Covid 19, the stay for all four of us was most enjoyable. The only difference was the request to bring our own sette e cushions. It was kind of the owners to again greet us personally on arrival and leave home made cakes, wines, biscuits, milk and drinks sachets. The garden was as beautiful as ever. Ludlow was opening up and as interesting and welcoming as ever. Most restaurants were open though some on restricted times and we enjoyed many of their freely delivered takeaways.

Lovely welcome with home baked cakes and wine.. Friendly hosts. Plenty of kitchen equipment. DVD's and games room great entertainment Only downside was a Large bird feed table in house next door that attracted a lot of pigeons and neighbourhood cats!

We spent a very enjoyable week at Sunningdale this Autumn.. The house is spotlessly clean, and well equipped for dining in. As the weather was wet most of the time we appreciated coming back to a warm and comfortable home at the end of the day. I particularly liked the reclining furniture in the sitting room! We were on holiday with our two grown-up sons and there was plenty of space for everyone. The beds are comfortable. The garden is a large arbour with summer house and sitting areas which would be lovely in sunny weather. There is plenty of space for parking in front of the house. Sunningdale is located in a quiet area about 5 minutes walk from the centre of Ludlow so there is no need to drive for shopping or eating out. The owners live next door - very friendly but in no way intrusive. We would happily return. Highly recommended.

The cottage is in a good location and is very well equiped.. We received lovely homemade cakes and biscuits on arrival, along with wine. The garden is beautiful, and we found plenty to amuse us in the area for the two weeks we were there, including, of course, pool and air hockey in the games room.

This is the second time we've stayed at Sunningdale and it won't be the last.. The house is just so lovely, the beds are comfy, it's spotlessly clean and just has a great feeling. It's also very quiet even though it's just a 10 minute walk into the centre of Ludlow and 5 minutes from the train station. The kitchen is very well equipped and we just love the quirky 1930's vibe of the decor and furnishings. The garden is also great with lots of little nooks and crannies to sit in during the day or to relax in after a day at the market. Ludlow is a great place to visit with the castle and riverside walks, and of course the great food but it's also a great centre for touring and visiting other towns and attractions such as Shrewsbury, Hereford, Gloucester and the Welsh border country.

Such a wonderful holiday experience.. We arrived to home made cakes, biscuits, milk, 2 bottles of wine and a wide selection of tea and hot chocolate. All rooms were spotless, well decorated and very homely. There were folders supplying us with local information. Would definitely consider staying here again.

September 2018
What an absolute "gem" ! A lovely home perfectly positioned to be close enough to everything but far enough to ensure peace & quiet. We went with friends who had never taken this kind of holiday and they are now converts and eagerly planning their next foray. Someone had really thought long & hard about equipping this property from the organised files of information which were fantastic down to the inclusion of sachets of bathfoam and scrunchies !. Anyone would be mad not to consider staying here...

August 2018
The complimentary goodies on arrival was a lovely gesture from the owner.. The house itself was clean and had everything you could possibly need from kitchen contents to games and activities for a rainy day. The sight pictures are true to life and give a real sense of the eclectic nature of the property. We all enjoyed our stay. The location was great from the walk into town and exploring the area.

One of the nicest holiday homes we’ve stayed in. If you’re looking for a cosy cottage, this won’t necessarily appeal. It’s quite obviously a 1930s semi which has been modernised and extended over time and whilst I’m no estate agent, I would think it’s pretty much ‘good to go’ on the sales market - the internal finish is that good. Amongst its USPs as a holiday home are the 10 minute walk into Ludlow’s historic centre, large and very well equipped kitchen, TVs in each of the 3 bedrooms (which in total sleep 6), games room with air hockey, pool table, large garden, and a welcome pack comprising 2 bottles of wine, home-made cakes and a bottle of milk, the latter being what most welcome packs consist of! Also the largest selection of local information folders I’ve ever seen. It’s in a quiet residential street with ample off-road parking. Absolutely no complaints!

Great accommodation and location weather could have been a little kinder..

April 2018
We have stayed in many holiday cottages over the years, but none were as comfortable or as well equipped as this one.. Comfort was the overall factor in this house: great reclining furniture in the lounge, comfortable beds, an additional snug with a great sofa and everything you could possibly need in the well-equipped kitchen. The house was lovely and warm and everything was in good working order, including the equipment in the Games Room, which was great fun! We recommend the house, its location was perfect for Ludlow's town centre and the off-road parking was much appreciated. We all slept well (2 couples), as the location was surprisingly quiet considering the proximity to the town centre. The owners were very generous in supplying us with a selection of home-made cakes and wine, very kind. Overall, it made for a great holiday!

This is the best place we have ever stayed in, and we have been in a lot. It was very comfortable and spacious and the games room is fab for all ages. It was all you could need and more and the garden is a credit to the owner. We have just got back today and have booked for next year before writing this review to make sure we get in.
Mr Baynham
January 2016
The house was well situated, being only 10 minutes walk from the centre of Ludlow, and was the best equipped house we have ever stayed in. I'd say it was a home from home, if our home was better.

This house was of an excellent standard throughout; the kitchen had every possible need catered for, the lounge and bedrooms were very comfortable, and the the whole house was spotless. The location is perfect for an easy walk into town, and the added benefit of the parking for two+ cars. There is even a small corner shop for all those essentials within a 5 minute walk. This property is exceptional. The visitor wants for nothing. The location is within easy walking distance of the town centre, facilities and area tourist attractions. All possible needs were catered for. The garden is an outstanding creation, extremely pleasurable to relax in. The house was lovely and was very well equipped with everything you needed. The owners had left a lovely lemon drizzle cake and 2 bottles of wine which was very welcoming and he checked in on us to make sure we had everything. July 2013
This was the first time that we have stayed in a cottage and it was a great experience. The accommodation was an overall excellent standard and well equipped. The games room was especially popular with the younger generation, but the extra little touches that the owners provided was what really made the difference.

July 2013
This is our first experience of staying in a rented holiday cottage and if this is what we can expect it is certainly be something that we will repeat. The booking was easy and swift to make and the matter of collecting the property key completely without any hassles. The property is very well located being about a 10 minute walk from the railway station and a few more minutes walk to the town centre itself but on a residential street so little traffic or noise. The accommodation itself was very comfortable with plenty of room for everyone and was also very well equiped both upstairs and down. There was a games room which the younger generation in particular enjoyed but also a summer house should anyone else want to escape for a while. The grounds were also of a very good standard with plenty of off-road parking at the front and mature gardens at the rear providing plenty of shade. On arrival we found that the owners had left us a few welcoming gifts as well as plenty of brochures for the town and its environs, places to visit, eat, local public transport timetables etc. We met the owners shortly after arrival and they were very friendly and helpful, willing to answer any questions as well as make a few suggestions to enhance our stay. We were certainly helped by gloriously sunny weather but overall we all had a very enjoyable stay and I would certainly recommend it to friends.
Mrs Franklin
May 2013
The house had plenty of room for the three of us, was very well equipped, clean, comfortable and we were made welcome by the owner. The property is well-situated for the town and bus routes in a very quiet road. The games room was a great success. We would certainly like to return there.

The property offered a warm and cosy refuge from the near-freezing, snowy conditions outdoors. Family of 5 from australia couldn't take full advantage of the garden because of the weather (though the snowball fights were fun, but appreciated the games room.

January 2013
Sunningdale was by far the best holiday home we have ever stayed in. The owners were fantastic and it was a home away from home, an extremely well equipped home with extras. The games room was brilliant and although we did not have an opportunity to use the garden in November, it is definitely a place I would love to stay at in the summer to take advantage of. Ludlow and the surrounding areas are beautiful. Stunning scenery and a variety of shops and places to visit. There is an excellent choice of places to eat. We would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a first class holiday and we will definitely return ourselves in the future.
