Area Bridgnorth is an interesting market town of two distinct halves separated by a red sandtone ridge - The High Town and the Low Town. The two halves are linked by meandering streets and steep steps, and the sheer funicular railway allows visitors to glimpse "the finest view in all my kingdom", as Charles I put it. There is a lively Saturday market which showcases the local fayre, and the River Severn which flows beneath the precipitous castle ruins offers many lovely walks. The steam and diesel engines of the Severn Valley Railway run between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster through pretty country stations. Bridgnorth is surrounded by an abundance of country parks, historic houses, interesting museums and chocolate box Shropshire villages, and also affords ease of access to the 10 museums of Ironbridge Gorge and the Royal Air Force Museum at Cosford. The vibrant destinations of Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Church Stretton are within easy reach, and the surrounding area offers its visitor superb walking and cycling opportunities.
Region A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was "the quietest place under the sun" and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.

Lovely cottage in quiet, rural location (although only a 15 minute drive to Bridgnorth).. The garden is an absolute gem! The owners, who live near by, could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Thank you so much.

Often, some cottages have "low end" range of kitchen goods (cooker, microwave, Washington machine etc), but the equipment at this cottage was exceptionally good..

Loved the cottage for its rural and out-of-the way setting. Loved the flowers and the birds and found it to be a great place to stay with our kids while we explored the sites around Bridgnorth and further afield. Would definitely recommend.

The cottage was ideal for our purposes: very well-appointed, clean and with excellent facilities, particularly in the kitchen. Very friendly hostess, who provided welcome fresh eggs.
Only slight drawback is the situation down a narrow country lane - best approached from the South East rather than North West.

Peaceful area with lovely secluded garden, enjoyed just listening to all the birds at the end of the day. There were so many places to visit and so much to see and do here. We will be coming back again. The owner was very helpful too.

Very comfortable cottage with a good sized secluded garden. Peaceful, quiet and relaxing, apart from birdsong, but not too far from numerous places to visit. In fact there are endless things to do and visit in this area. Certainly will be returning .

This rural cottage situated on a working farm provided a great escape from village, town or city living. Taking in the views from each window was inspirational and was like stepping back in time to a more sedate way of existing. The owner was welcoming and had advice for where to visit. This holiday cottage was supremely equipped and had tremendous extras. I rate the overall experience as five star.

All aspects of the holiday including the cottage were good. The cottage itself felt very homely, and we found we could relax easily. It was a good base to explore the county, the eggs and produce from the local farm was amazingly tasty too. We all love Shropshire and will be visiting again soon.
