No cottage was wonderful a very enjoyable holiday
Mr Tennant
May 2019
The property was well presented and spotlessly clean.. Everything that we needed was provided and the "welcome pack" which included wine, homemade cakes and biscuits was extremely generous. The beds and lounge furniture were really comfortable making this a real home from home. This property is situated only a few minutes from the town centre and is really convenient for cafés, pubs, take away food etc. - the Bull Ring Tavern is definitely worth a visit with a friendly welcome, good food and a good selection of real ales. Lots of things to do and places to visit - if you like beer, do the Ludlow Brewery tour. We would love to come back again at some point in the future.

Our 4th stay in this cosy, well positioned cottage.. The owner provides a spotlessly clean, well equipped and comfortable home, which is ideally located for easy access to Ludlow town. Outside car space is a bonus.

Cariad Cottage was ideally situated for exploring the area and especially for enjoying what Ludlow has to offer.. It is an easy walk into the centre of Ludlow and has supermarkets within a few minutes walk (One stop was only 2 minutes and a large Tesco and Aldi a short walk down the hill - about 5 minutes walk) The cottage was very well equipped with everything you could need - a real home from home. The owner kindly left some buns, milk and wine to welcome us which was much appreciated, the buns were delicious.

The sheer niceness of a clean, well-appointed and recently remodelled cottage in a such a peaceful and orderly town as Ludlow: it's like travelling back in time to a more civilised age, but with all mod cons.. Brava, Mrs. Leake! Well done, Sykes Cottages. I hope we'll visit again next year for our first stay at Cariad Cottage.

Lovely cottage.. The owner has gone out of her way to provide everything you could need to enjoy your holiday. Lots of information folders detailing the local area. We found the walks leaflets very useful. The welcome pack of wine, homemade cakes and biscuits was really thoughtful and enjoyable. Ludlow and the surrounding area are a joy to visit.

It was one of the best equipped cottages we have stayed in - and so very convenient for restaurants and all the lovely places to visit in Ludlow and surrounding areas.. The welcome pack was more than generous. We have not used Sykes before but will certainly look at their properties first in the future.

The cottage was right in the centre of Ludlow so very convenient, and having a parking spot was a boon.. The information in the cottage and the welcome goodies were excellent. All in all a very nice place to spend a holiday

Facilities at the cottage we’re excellent, one of the best we’ve stayed in- dishwasher and washing machine washing tablets provided which is unusual.. Often the machines are there but no products to use! Welcomed with cakes, cookies and two bottles of wine, wonderful start. Quality kitchen and very comfortable cottage. Although no garden the seats outside the front door made up. Parking space a bonus in Ludlow! Thank you.

Cariad Cottage has obviously been recently refurbished.. Excellent design and product sourcing combined with top class workmanship! And the range of equipment supplied is exhaustive. The Cottage position for foot access to Town, Castle, River and walks is very good. Didn't use the car once all week. Loved Ludlow. The Old Town buildings, streets, walls, River and shops were brilliant - not many chain shops here! Very relaxing week, Thank you, Phil & Dorothy Roberts

Our fourth visit to this comfortable, well-appointed cottage.. It is truly like a home-from-home. Ludlow itself is a jewel of a town and many other attractive places are within easy reach. Any time of year Cariad Cottage is nice to come back to after a day out.

February 2018
We enjoyed a relaxing week in this cosy, well equipped cottage just two minutes walk from the historic centre of Ludlow.. The cottage was equipped to a high standard with everything we could possibly need. The owner has gone to great lengths to provide extensive information about the local area which was useful for planning walks and outings. On arrival we found a home-baked fruitcake, milk, tea and coffee and two bottles of wine - much appreciated after a longish drive. The lack of a garden to sit out in was not a problem for us in February though some might find this a bit of a drawback in the spring and summer. For us, Cariad proved an ideal location for a winter break and we hope to be back again soon.

November 2017
We booked Cariad Cottage because it was so close to Ludlow town centre, which meant we could walk to the shops and restaurants and because it had a parking space - it’s location is ideal for exploring Ludlow and touring the surrounding area.. Although the cottage is small it is comfortable enough for two; it was clean and very well equipped indeed, all the kitchen equipment looked brand new, good WiFi and Smart TV. We were welcomed with a fruit cake, fresh milk and a couple of bottles of wine. We enjoyed our stay and will certainly return.

This is our third visit to Cariad Cottage - I think this speaks for itself! Once again the owner had supplied wine, cake and a selection of teabags, all of which were much appreciated.

We stayed in Cariad Cottage for a week. It was everything we could have hoped for & deserves its high rating. Located just 2 minutes from the beautiful town centre, it is so warm & cosy with every need catered for. The parking space is a bonus. I highly recommend this property, it is one of our favourites & we have stayed in many Sykes Cottages.

Cariad Cottage was a gem. In terms of location, amenities, comfort and quietness this spacious home away from home was ideal. Everything was thought of by the owner. We had a wonderful week in one of the nicest towns in England and Cariad Cottage really was the icing on the cake. Hope to return soon.

Such attention to detail in this property! Everything one could possibly need is provided. We particularly liked its proximity to the town centre with its wide range of shops and bus services. This makes it an ideal location if one does not want to rely on the car. This was my second visit and I don't think it will be my last.

November 2015
We booked this cottage for a week in October and what a treasure it is! The cottage was immaculately clean, everything you could want was supplied and there was a welcome pack on arrival of a bottle each of red & white wine, a lemon drizzle cake and a pint of milk in the fridge. The cottage has its own parking space right outside the door, which given that parking is difficult in Ludlow was a godsend. The landlady met us at the cottage and showed us where everything was and also recommended some thing to see and do. There was everything you could need there from files with information on places to visit, takeaways, nearest doctors surgery, supermarkets, post box, they really have thought of everything from board games and jigsaws to DVD's & CD's. We slept in the double room and the bed was sooooo comfortable and the cotton bedding cool and fresh it was a struggle to get out of it in the morning! There was an abundance of towels in the bathroom and the water pressure in the show was a joy, we have stayed in places where you needed to run round the shower to get wet! The stairs are steep, the handrail low on the wall and the are quite narrow but we didn't find them a problem at all, it's just the age of the cottage, you can't expect wide a wide sweeping staircase. The position of the cottage couldn't have been better. A 2 minute walk and you are at a supermarket and in town, having passed a fish and shop (we can recommend)! and a few other take-aways. The town is fabulous and if you have never been there we can recommend. My husband and I both said we could live there, it is such a friendly, community minded town. the shops are great lots of independent shops rather than chains. The pub in the middle of the town, the Bull I think it was called, was really nice, very friendly and food was great. We also tried the Church Inn and the pies mmm mmm!! But the prize for the best shop goes to Martin Pryce Leather down Pepper Lane. We found this little gem on the Thursday afternoon and ordered a leather bag which Martin made for us and we collected on the Friday-wonderful service, the softest leather and at a very reasonable price, I will be back for more! Martins Partner owns Koo, a Japanese restaurant which we had already booked a table at, and the food there is wonderful, You really must visit Ludlow and stay at Cariad Cottage - you will have a wonderful holiday with lots of lovely memories.

This cottage is so well placed for all that Ludlow has to offer. It was one of the best equipped cottages I've stayed in, and the owner kindly leaves a pint of milk, a bottle of red and white wine and the most delicious lemon drizzle cake to start you off. There is loads of information about the area and the town to read. Off street parking in front of the cottage is a very definite plus in Ludlow. A glance in the guest book showed lots of repeat visits which says a lot.
Mrs Wood
August 2015
This is a lovely holiday cottage and it has everything you could possibly need. It is really clean with lots of hidden extras. It is in a really good location for the town centre. We could not fault it and the owner is so helpful.

May 2015
We were more than happy with our cottage. It was essential we had off road parking for my elderly mother and were close to town, both of which Cariad Cottage provided. The cottage was cosy, welcoming, comfortable and the personal touches made it feel like a home away from home. Our stay was enjoyable and hassle free. Everything had been thought of and we were very touched by the personal touches. Would definitely recommend to friends and would love to stay again.

My daughter and I spent a very comfortable holiday in Cariad Cottage, which is an excellent 'home from home'. The cottage is nicely furnished and the owner has thought of everything that you could possibly need for your stay. There are meticulously presented folders containing information on the house, the town (and beyond), including walks and cycling routes. For inclement weather, there is a plentiful supply of DVDs to satisfy all tastes and a variety of games. Ludlow is a pretty little town, just a few minutes walk from the cottage. There are many independent shops and numerous places to eat/drink.

July 2014
This cottage was in a great location - very close to the centre of town. The owners had supplied files of information on the property and town's facilities, activities and services. On arrival we found a bottle of white and red wine and some yummy cake with fresh milk in the fridge. We can't think of anything that wasn't supplied that we needed. The owners were very friendly and met us once we had arrived. The service was exemplary.

June 2014
The cottage is within easy walking distance of Ludlow, it also has parking right outside for the car. The kitchen was modern and well-equiped and the owner had gone to a lot of trouble to provide lots of information about walks and places to visit in the area. There are TVs in the lounge and both of the bedrooms, also a music centre and plenty of DVDS and some CDs. We enjoyed our stay there very much.
Mrs Barker
