The historic town has a farmer's market once a month as well as a wide selection of restaurants, pubs, and shops. It is well-known for hosting regular festivals and fairs, including Party in the Park and the immensely well-liked Michaelmas Fair, as well as the annual Real Ale Festival and Tandem Triathlon.
