You can hire boats from the side of the River Thames, just a nine-minute walk from the house – it’s a lovely part of the world to see from the water, so we’d pack a picnic and make a day of it. Hikers might like to set off into the Chiltern Hills, and will be happy to return to such a comfortable home.
