"Nice location and a potentially lovely holiday rental."
But i cannot recommend as currently there are a few issues. Firstly and most concerning is that there are no lights in the kitchen area. The under cabinet/over worktop lights are not working. There are wires hanging down and strip light units missing bulbs. The kitchen only receives light from a single bulb on the living room ceiling. This is dangerous as you are forced to prepare food in the dim light available. There is a lovely bay window dining area with a table and seating but there is no lighting for the table area. So if it’s dark you eat in the gloom too. There is also no heating in the main bedroom. A night storage heater is installed but it does not work. Kitchen cupboard shelves were dirty as was the hob and the bathroom floor. The property is on the market and I think the owners are not very interested in maintaining the higher standards that the price demands. It would be very easy and cheap to remedy the kitchen lights and the dining area could also be made usable for little expense. The bedroom heating issue is a little more involved but a temporary plug in radiator would have solved the cold issue for us. Clean floors and cupboards is essential and unforgivable.

"Thank you for a lovely stay at West House No."
6. Clean and well presented and great location. Flat ( and occupiers) would definitely benefit from having a microwave oven. Some shelving in the bathroom would also be a great help as there is nowhere to put toiletries. Other than that, a great place to stay and we would use it again quite happily. Thanks again.
Thank you for taking the time to write - delighted you enjoyed your stay at Flat 6. Point noted re some shelving in the bathroom - to progress. Hopefully you will visit again. Regards Debbie Property Owner

"A lovely charming apartment."
Very comfortable and clean. Will definitely stay again. Could do with a pillow and mattress upgrade though.

"Well equipped and decorated."
Ideal situation in village .Bathroom will be lovely when it is suitably equipped . Outside entrance area could do with a 'spruce up'. Dusty TV and fire place, dog chewed ball in chest of drawers, dirty pipe and fan in the bathroom all detracted from the overall pleasure of the experience and did not represent value for money. It is not unreasonable for guests to expect a minimum standard of cleanliness. All issues are easy to rectify and then property would deserve higher scores.

"Loved West House, great location and really well equipped comfortable, lovely accommodation."
Short stroll to the centre of Banburgh Castle which is delightful. Only a minor quibble but main bed could probably do with a new mattress.

About the location
BAMBURGH
Seahouses 3.5 miles; Beadnell 5.1 miles; Alnwick 16.9 miles.
The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.
