"Second time in this lovely, cosy, peaceful cottage."
Everything you need is provided (including a fabulous welcome pack) and on a wet day the cottage is perfect for just hunkering down.
-
"Lovely cottage, couldn't ask for more, great facilities, bed very comfy too which is always great to know."
Grays Inn, dog friendly and great beers too all within staggering distance
-
"We very much enjoyed out stay Much appreciated all the extras and flowers."
The garden extremely safe for our dog and the birds were a delight to watch. It was good to be in easy reach of shop for morning paper. The beach would be within walking distance for those younger and fitter than us but we drove and found parking easy. We and dog loved our walks there The kitchen is tight but now we know that we can cope in future. A more comfy armchair would be an asset. We will return for sure.

"Beautiful cottage with everything we needed both inside and outside."
The enclosed garden was a plus also. Thank you.

"3 days short break in Embleton, staying for the first time in West End Cottage."
Ideally situated in the heart of the village just a minute or so from Dunstanburgh Castle Hotel. The cottage is cosy and the bed is comfortable, we slept very well. Log burner was so welcoming along with the lovely homemade chocolate cake and fudge. Ate most of it and took the rest home with us! Have already booked in for a week in the summer at West End Cottage, looking forward to it!

"Can see some good changes made since we stayed here last year ."
The heating system has been changed and the cottage was much warmer. Great welcome pack ! Only thing gate catch needs some attention . Great stay ! Will be back next year !!
-
"Excellent cottage, in a quiet village."
My husband and 2 dogs stayed over New Year. Safe enclosed rear garden, so did not worry about the dogs. Nice touches from the owners, welcome pack, treats for the dogs, even a dog bowl and bed. All aspects of washing catered for e.g washer and dishwasher tablets and liquid and cloths. Very clean, cosy and warm. The only thing you need to bring are extra towels if staying longer than a couple of nights, 2 provided at property. Very good information folders for the property and the area. Highly recommend

"We had a great stay again at West End Cottage and we love the personal touches and would like to thank Heather Myles and Sally for making their cottage so special."
We will be staying in the future.

"This was our second stay at West End Cottage."
A great base to explore the area and return to on an evening. The cottage is cosy and well equipped and came with a great welcome pack. Nice secure garden for the dog. If you find the roast potatoes in the freezer that was us! Please use them...

"A lovely cottage and we appreciated the extras such as coffee, tea, kitchen roll, cling film, foil, fresh flowers and books."
Very comfortable once we worked out how to boost the heating, as there were no instructions. Nice big bedroom and comfortable bed. Enclosed garden for dog. Well equipped kitchen. A tumble drier would have been a help. The only drawback was the height of the door lintels. My husband is 6ft 4in and had to remember to duck!

"West End Cottage was lovely."
It had everything we needed, was cosy and comfortable and lovely and warm. It's a great base to explore Northumberland.

"We loved the property and its location."
Easy walking to the beautiful beach. Garden was great for our dog. Bed was very comfortable. Plenty of information available. Everything you might need- even a hot water bottle in the bedroom. Only very slight niggle, difficult to lock the back door from the inside. Main gate is difficult to lift and fasten. But we loved it here and intend to come back

"A fabulous cottage for the two of us and the dogs."
The kitchen is small but well equipped but the rest of the accommodation is fantastic, good sized living room and big bedroom with plenty of storage. Good secure outside space, only criticism is that a BBQ would be welcome. Embleton is a beautiful village with a good pub, the hotel and easy access to the coastal path. Highly recommend.
-
"This was our first cottage holiday and we were impressed with the way it was equipped, even down to the welcoming cake and card."
However it could have been a little cleaner, dusty and cobwebs in all the rooms, which we soon sorted and it did not spoil our holiday. The location was perfect for the places we planned to visit.
-
"A beautiful snug cottage in a lovely village with 1km to beach and short drives north to Beadnell, Seahouses and Bambrugh, south to Craster and Alnmouth and west to Alnwick."
We used the bus from the village to allow one way walks on the beautiful coast path. The cottage has a good sized enclosed back garden which was great for our dog and off road parking at the side of the cottage. Kitchen was well equipped with a welcome pack of home made cake, home made jam, fresh milk, tea coffee and biscuits and a cleaning pack. Bed was comfortable and cottage had character and lovely wood burner stove. Slight downside is that the shower and toilet are off the kitchen but we got used to that.
-
"This was the best appointed cottage of the many we have stayed at in the past."
The hotel can be fully recommended for its food and dog friendliness as was the cottage. The cake and jam were very welcome and were excellent. It would be helpful if the main gate hinges could be adjusted as lifting the gate to close the bold was awkward.

"Because of multiple travel problems we arrived in darkness."
It took us 30 minutes in the pitch black to locate the cottage as the font of the nameplate was not helpful. A more exact location of the cottage would have been helpful. Otherwise the cottage and our stay was excellent.
-
"Great cottage is in a lovely location close to plenty of local amenities and plenty of information left for us."
Great private back garden which is a lovely sun trap. For us we would of liked some comfy garden furniture i.e. rattan to relax on as the table and chair's not really laze in the sun furniture. Apart from that absolutely fantastic and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone. Many thanks Scott & Jan

"A lovely, comfortable cottage with personal touches added from the owners."
-
"A lovely cottage in a lovely location."
The living area is spacious and comfortable, the kitchen has everything needed for "proper" self catering and the bedroom is huge with a comy bed - only the birds disturbed us. Nicely furnished, probably close to needing a freshen up of decor but minor. Would definitely recommend!
-
"Lovely house, perfect for us and our hound…Good size and all we needed with a nice enclosed garden and always welcomed at the Greys Inn…he was spoilt rotten…10 min walk to the beach…."
Perfect…. Would have scored it all 5’s but Unfortunately there was a fault with the Nest heating but Myles the owner took personal responsibility to rectify calling and coming to the house. Would recommend and stay again.
-
"Lovely, comfortable cottage."
It was our second visit and we would definitely go back again. It would have been helpful to have instructions on how to use the Nest central heating controls especially in winter and there was no starter pack provided for the stove. Refuse collection timetable needs updating. The vacuum cleaner was not very efficient and cut out after only 5 minutes even though it was fully charged.

"Fantastic cottage - we could live here!"
Lovely to stay here for Christmas. We love the area which is why we chose to stay here. It never fails. Dogs loved the 18 mile beach walks everyday. Just one downside was the heating - it rarely came on and when it did it wasn't warm enough to keep the place warm. We managed to get around this by using the log burner everyday. The cottage uses Nest for heating which we're not familiar with. Maybe we did something wrong which prevented the heating from coming on. Some good advice/instructions regarding the heating would really be beneficial. Otherwise a perfect stay. Thank you

We loved it so much in January we booked again for February and unless it was booked up, we will always book this cottage. A real treasure and hone away from home.

"West End is a warm, comfy, well equipped cottage and just right for a couple."
After having at least 45 - 50 cottage holidays in the UK over the years, I have to say they provided the best welcome pack I have ever seen! The home-made cake was a lovely touch. We will certainly be booking West End Cottage again.

"West End Cottage was just perfect for us."
Based in a lovely village, ideally located for visiting all our favourite places in Northumberland easily. Really well equipped, and cosy too. We loved the personal touches like the welcome pack and friendly, helpful information. We especially appreciated the garden – it is really secure for our dog and we particularly liked the fact that it is so wildlife friendly. Can’t wait to visit again. Thank you for a great stay.
