This welcome, family home is a wonderful base for your coastal getaway. Nestled on a leafy street in the idyllic village of Newton-by-the-Sea, you’ll love exploring this gorgeous slice of the Northumberland Coast as much as enjoying this sociable base. Newton-by-the-Sea is dotted with traditional cream-washed cottages, and this charming abode is no different. Inside, the classic yet contemporary interior makes a lovely home-from-home, with polished hardwood floors, bright walls, a gas-burning fireplace, and cosy furnishings. We love the soft blue and sandy tones, exuding comfort while drawing inspiration from the coastal location. And if that doesn’t get you embracing being beside the seaside, the cute beach-themed artwork will. Every space has been designed with sociable families in mind. It’s open and inviting, with a beautiful kitchen that’s perfect for gathering around the kitchen island, preparing meals together as a group. The conservatory is another bright and homely space. It’s particularly lovely in the mornings with the sunlight pouring in through the ceiling windows while you savour a nice, hot coffee. Or, you can take your coffee out to the patioed garden and breathe in the fresh seaside air. Whether you plan on spending your days windsurfing, sailing, relaxing on the beach, bird watching, or exploring the quaint village, there’s a lot to love about Newton-by-the-Sea. Tuck into an obligatory lunch of fish and chips on the beach and explore the village’s historical churches. Return home to catch the last of the afternoon sun in your garden with a good glass of wine, before getting the barbecue going for a grilled feast.

About The Northumberland Coast

Right at the top of England, Northumberland’s great expanse is dotted with medieval strongholds that have seen many a bloody battle. A landscape rich with history, you can explore the crumbling ruins of clifftop castles or tour restored and retained masterpieces at Bamburgh Castle and Alnwick Castle. Fishing villages punctuate the sweeps of undiscovered beaches along the coastline. Tangles of lobster pots sit on old stone harbours while boats trundle...
