The village has a shop, two pubs and a café serving food. Popular Seahouses is just over a mile away and has shops, a supermarket and restaurants, and it also offers boat trips from the harbour to the magnificent Farne Islands - a haven for bird watchers. Bamburgh is close by, whilst the market town of Alnwick with its Castle and Gardens, shops, pubs and restaurants is a short drive away.

This is a family's second home. Both the front and back gardens haven't seen any attention in months. Very overgrown and not nice. Bonus is that since a family second home - there is free birth control tablets in the bathroom along with other medication and toiletries - watch your children! For a dog-friendly home - it is not as friendly as it could be. The entirety is laminate flooring - which some dogs cope with well and others need you to make a trail of blankets and rugs to allow them not to end up like Scooby Doo doing a big paw scramble. It was very clean, and the bathrooms modern. Kitchen fairly modern. All furniture doesn't match each other - so feels very much like all furniture free on Facebook marketplace. It was adequate. Would we go back? No. We had a friend staying nearby for the same costs in another home - and it was lovely - so would likely book that instead. Very clean, comfortable bed. Couches not super comfortable and dated. You can play your music through the bathroom mirror through bluetooth! Windows appear to not having been cleaned since 1982. Definitely very clean. If taking 4 people - the table only has chairs for 3 people. Slightly foisty smell which we couldn't figure out where it was coming from. If this property had a bit of love to it - it would be lovely. Nice neighbourhood and neighbours! Felt very adequate. Owners, please give the property a little love - it would help us holiday folks feel more holiday-ee. I have photos and will put in another post.

Do not stay in this house, the back and front gardens are a total disgrace, they haven't been maintained in some time and are very overgrown, you can't sit comfortably outside , the grass was ankle deep, there were weeds everywhere, the bushes were over grown and decked area was inundated with insects as a result. The conservatory is a dumping ground ground for owners junk, has not furniture bar a church pew which makes it a wasted room, the tumble dryer didn't work whilst we were there, owner didn't bother getting a replacement , holiday company were so embarrassed they removed one from an unoccupied house to assist us., this house has no freezer making eating in very difficult, the master bedroom is terribly is need of a make over , the bed so uncomfortable, the view to the garden is like looking out onto a wasteland , this could be a nice house but currently is not as advertised, the owners have no concern for their guests wellbeing , I am currently considering raising legal action due to the state if the house and the owners response to my concerns
