Seaside life is on your doorstep with a stay at this charming cottage set in the postcard-pretty fishing town of Amble – one of Northumberland’s most sparkling coastal treasures. From its humble beginnings as a blacksmith’s cottage, this home has recently undergone quite a transformation. While exposed beams and stone feature walls remain to bring that all-important period charm, the rest of the cottage is carefully reimagined for modern living. Upstairs, each of the three bedrooms are as bright and sunny as the next. While back downstairs, there’s an immaculate modern kitchen for flexing some serious culinary muscles (those ceramic floor tiles are everything). A spacious sitting room with a modular, butter-soft sofa ready for you to dive right in for cosy film nights. And did we mention there's a hot tub on your private enclosed terrace commanding knockout sunset views? Now we’re talking. When you’re ready to cast your nets and explore Amble, you won’t have far to go. Drink up the sea air with bracing coastal dog walks (furry friends are welcome here, too) along the town's vast sandy shores. Enjoy an amble (see what we did there?) around the newly developed harbour village with pods selling arts, crafts, food, drink and gifts. And, of course, the freshest seafood imaginable is on tap when thoughts turn to food and a glass of something crisp.

About The Northumberland Coast

Right at the top of England, Northumberland’s great expanse is dotted with medieval strongholds that have seen many a bloody battle. A landscape rich with history, you can explore the crumbling ruins of clifftop castles or tour restored and retained masterpieces at Bamburgh Castle and Alnwick Castle. Fishing villages punctuate the sweeps of undiscovered beaches along the coastline. Tangles of lobster pots sit on old stone harbours while boats trundle...
