We (8 adults, 2 dogs) spent a gorgeous week here in September, and we would definitely return.
When we arrived, the cottage was lovely and warm, and the Aga was a real treat, making the kitchen so cosy and welcoming. The kitchen is very well stocked with all of the necessary equipment - plates, bowls, knives, utensils, cafetiere, chopping boards, pots, pans etc. There is a huge fridge and lots of freezer space.
It was spotlessly clean, and there was plenty of kindling and firewood for the stoves, making it a lovely place to relax in the evenings after long walks outside.
The surrounding views of the Dales are stunning and there are many walks right on the doorstep - our dogs loved it! The wet room is brilliant for cleaning up muddy boots and paws. The washing machine and dryer came in handy too!
The only thing I would recommend to future guests is to make sure you're stocked up on food/wine/drinks, because the nearest supermarket is quite a drive away. But don't let that put you off from staying here! Once you've got everything you need, it's a brilliant escape in the country! We didn't want to go home!
Also, the Punch Bowl Inn at the bottom of the hill is a lovely place to grab a beer/meal. We had Sunday lunch there and an evening meal and really enjoyed it.
