2nd year in this cottage for a group of friends walking the 3 peak routes.. Can't fault anything, great location and facilities in the cottage. Used the fire this year as it was chilly and it warmed the place really well. Already planning for 2020!

The cottage although cosy, was lacking in some areas.. One of the showers failed to work and the other was very temperamental. The third bedroom consisted of 2 beds, one being a frame on wheels and the other a very slim camp style bed. My adult son had uncomfortable night sleeps in the bed on wheels, which moved every time he did. He would not have fitted into the other bed. We also found old peanuts on the carpet. The cottage is in a lovely location, a short distance from the pub and within a short drive to lots of lovely walks. I feel that it would accommodate 4 adults rather than the 6 stated, due to the bed situation and the downstairs room space. It lacked a bit of TLC.

Beautiful spacious and well furnished.. Location excellent for walks by river, 10 minute walk to lovely pub, and great for walking up local hill tops and mountains. Very close to station - 10 minutes. The owners live next door and good not have been more friendly and helpful - even let us use their lovely hill top garden which we didn't even know about!

A larger fridge freezer would have been better.. Two showers but could not run hot water together very frustrating. Very dark inside no views.

If you like your walks and bike rides this is the perfect place. The cottage is really cosy with a fantastic fire with no shortage of fuel supply. The owners are really nice people ready to assist if you need it. Plenty of space to store stuff including safe store for your bikes.. It was a perfect christmas in a very peaceful and friendly place

I can't praise Poppy Cottage and it's owners enough.. It's in a great location and we arrived to a warm house with a wonderful fire going. And a tin of chocolates to treat us too! I've rarely stayed in a better appointed holiday home, and the owners next door were really helpful and friendly. A brilliant New Year break!

Stayed here as a base to walk the Yorkshire 3 Peaks from 7th-10th September 2018. Arrived late at night and the cottage was ready for our arrival. It was very spacious and well equipped for our stay. Excellent location, very clean, and a great price, exactly what you would want for a stay in this area. The owners must be very proud I would definitely recommend for anyone who is thinking of staying in Horton-in-Ribblesdale, all of us in the group would return to this lovely cottage, thank you x

This is a fantastic base for the Three Peaks Challenge which starts about 5 mins away from the cottage itself.. The house is on a family farm and they were friendly on arrival and had left some useful information about the cottage inside the house. All as expected. Slight issue with one of the showers and we couldn't get the internet to work but we reported it to them and I'm sure it will be fixed for the next arrivals. We didn't need it anyway as we were out walking both days! Stayed here with a couple of friends and we would definitely stay here again.

Poppy cottage is a lovely cottage ideally situated on the doorstep of the three peaks. We found the accommodation clean and comfortable with a relaxed feel. The cottage has an open plan layout which gives it a spacious fell. The owners were very friendly and gave us permission to use their garden. We enjoyed meals outside with a great view of Pen y Ghent. The location makes a great base for walking any (or all 3 peaks!).

Poppy Cottage was/is a lovely, comfortable and very spacious cottage, excellently decorated with all facilities you could want - apart from a reliable WiFi connection, even though the cottage is advertised as having Broadband/WiFi.. It has to be shared with the owner and connection cannot be relied upon if you need to do anything important or check out locations of interest in the area or train times etc. before setting off for a day out. Having said that the cottage is located in a very peaceful area with the station two minutes walk away - absolutely ideal for travelling on the Settle to Carlisle railway line (an absolute must) and the owners are lovely people to chat to - we would certainly return.

Brilliant location and great facilities.. Parking easily for two large SUV's and the owners whilst very friendly and happy to chat, never imposed or intruded. Very competitively priced and will definitely try and book again when we come up to the peaks.

The process of booking was easy from start to finish.. As for the cottage well it was everything we hoped for and more. We wanted a more traditional feel cottage and that’s what we got. It was lovely and cosy yet spacious for a family of 5. It was very well equipped, nice comfy beds and plenty of towels provided. A nice warm fire was lit ready for arrival which was a welcome sight. The owners were lovely, friendly and very welcoming. It was a great base for my husband and daughter to walk Pen-y-Ghent, and for us to visit other places of interest. I wish we had booked for longer. A hidden gem and we hope to return.

This is a lovely cottage with plenty of room, it was useful having 2 bathrooms.. There is not much view from the house but once you step outside you can stroll down to the Ribble and see Pen-Y-Ghent. Once we had got to grips with the coal fire we were lovely and warm though there are electric fan heaters if you aren't used to a fire. Easy walking from the cottage, up Pen-Y-Ghent one way or Ingleborough Nature Reserve the other, or all 3 peaks if you are feeling more ennergetic than us. Very friendly helpful owners who live next door if you have any problems.
