Housed in a period property in the town's genteel Victorian suburb, the apartment is bathed in natural light thanks to the original sash windows throughout the home. Immaculately presented, you'll love the cosy living space and modern kitchen made for action for rustling up a bite to eat. Or you could keep things simple and mosey down to Whitby's bustling bars and restaurants just one street away, where you'll find everything from kippers, fish and chips, and fresh crab sandwiches to Michelin-starred gastropubs. And no visit to this seaside town would be complete without a promenade along the seafront and pier with ice cream. Kids (and big kids) will love the traditional seaside feel here (think donkey rides, rock pooling, and sandy beaches), and there's plenty of independent shops and art galleries to discover amid the medieval streets for something a little more refined. And do make sure to cross over the River Esk to seek out the town's atmospheric ruined abbey (fourteen minutes on foot), the inspiration and setting for Bram Stoker's Gothic horror story, Dracula.
