Lovely cottage great setting and the weather complimented the stay

September 2020
Exceeded all expectations, cottage had all the facilities you could wish for, cleanliness was amazing, possibly the best we’ve had in a rental especially when you take into consideration pets are welcome.. The only slight negative for me was the bed was a bit uncomfortable, but was fine for my wife, so that’s a personal choice. The cottage is on a working farm and caravan site but neither is a problem. The views of the NYM from the private enclosed garden are fantastic and if you are fortunate enough to be able to eat outside like us throughout our stay is the icing on the cake. Oh, and the owner, who lives on site is very friendly without intruding, would definitely recommend.

First class all round.. I rang as requested 48 hrs before and asked if we came early would we be able to park up anywhere the owner let us park up on the cottages drive. The only gripe we had is we forgot to fasten the gate up at night so when we got up someone had let their dog off on the grass so we had dog mess to clean up wasn,t good as we had taken our 7 yr old granddaughter with us. We didn't want for anything ,even had biscuits waiting for us to enjoy with our cuppa .Would have been nice to have a four slot toaster instead of a two one as electric grill quite slow, also a grab rail or handle would be good in bath for the less mobile. Please note these are not complaints just suggestions .Well we enjoyed our stay here so much we booked for next year while we were there.A big thankyou to the owners and see you next year.

Broadings cottage Whitby was ideal for us as i am partly disabled the cottage was clean compact and ideally placed for going into Whitby on my mobility scooter, there was loads of parking and the garden was secure for our dogs.. Mrs margaret Morley was nice friendly and available if needed as the farm house is two doors away. The one missing factor in todays times no broadband which we use alot to get things planned look at access and facilities for my needs etc. We will be looking at returning sometime soon.

We had a relaxing holiday, enjoying the picturesque views from the garden.. The cottage is comfortable and has everything you need for your stay. Mrs Morley left us some lovely biscuits and freshly laid eggs. We booked another week's stay as soon as we got home.

Not a wifi person really so a bit surprised how I missed it being available to look things up.. Would have expected a hairdryer... memo to self to take one with me in future. Very helpful owner. Great situation for getting out and about. Ideal for two or for a family but not really for two couples Bathroom could do with an update.. it is fine and shower is fantastic but the washbasin is small and and is set rather low. Would not stop me going again though. Perhaps something for future development. Great for the dogs, fully enclosed garden area and able to walk them up the fields. Really enjoyed our week

This cottage has everything you need, from the warm welcome from the hosts to the Warm & cosy, well equipped cottage. It couldn’t be more convenient for trips to Whitby and the Moors. Whitby is walkable for the energetic The garage down the road provides all the essentials (Spa) and if you turn left at the garage towards the coast road you will find a Lidl.. The Stables just up the road does excellent meals and the garden centre opposite is good for breakfast and snacks. If you go into Whitby after 6pm parking is free [£3 for 2 hours in most North York car parks] and Trenchers opposite the station do excellent fish & chips.

I wouldn't normally review a place twice but this deserves it, again we were met by very friendly hosts and the cottage is so lovely i'd give it 10 stars if I could, we had a lovely break for my husbands 40th birthday just before Christmas and everything was as it was the year before I can't fault it, I just wish this could be a regular Christmas break for us. Don't hesitate you'll love it!!

Fabulous place in a great location to Whitby.. A very welcoming warm and comfortable cottage with great views. Our dog loved it there as he could go outside in the garden and with the big gate shut and a high wall we had no worries with him after all its his holiday as well.

December 2015
We stayed here for three nights in the middle of December with our two dogs in the smaller of the 2 cottages. We are very familiar with the area so knew our way around Whitby were also walkers so for us it's only a short walk into the outskirts of Whitby but if you wanted to go further and are not walkers then you'll probably want to use the car. The cottage itself is lovely I was very impressed we had a private garden where we could park the car and their were no escape routes for the dogs which meant they had the run of the garden. The owner met us and showed us round, we had plenty of room the kitchen is very spacious and included, fridge, washer and dishwasher, towels and bedding were included as well as a supply of cleaning products and some rather tasty biscuits. I do have to point out that the shower nearlly blasted me out of the bath and the bath tub was the best I could stretch out and it was deep and wide, these two things were my highlight. It was lovely and cosy we were never cold and one of my dogs in particular loved the underfloor heating though it took us a while to get used to it. We never saw the owner again until we were leaving which suited us as we like to be left to our own devices, however this is also their moto. I wouldn't hesitate in staying here again and have already recommended it to some of my doggy friends, just wish we could have stayed longer. Please note there is also a campsite attached to this property which is only open March to October so I cannot comment on what it would be like with more people about for us there was one family in the other cottage (there are only 2 cottages) and it was winter time so possibly quieter then normal.

July 2015
The property and the hosts were first class. We have been visiting the North York Moors area for the past 8 years and this is the best yet. The views from the cottage were excellent, much better than we expected. Looking forward to our next holiday here.

May 2015
We liked everything about the cottage, especially the location, it was close enough to Whitby without being in the centre of Whitby. The owners were very friendly when we first arrived, and although they were only a couple of doors away they never bothered us. An excellent holiday, we will definitely be returning!
Mrs Brook
March 2015
The cottage is so cosy and comfortable, easy to stay in for a week with lovely under floor heating. Beautiful panoramic views over fields and moors. Friendly but not intrusive owners and it is private but yet so close to Whitby, very good value for money. We would book again but it seems very popular and already booked up for our next holiday.
Miss Bickerdike
December 2014
Boradings Cottage is a cosy cottage, great under floor heating which was very welcome as I chose a particularly cold week in December. Well equipped kitchen in a spacious living area. Great views from the property, with a lovely enclosed garden and parking area. Great location, in the countryside, and very peaceful just on the outskirts of Whitby, but only a 20 minute walk into town, or five minute drive. Great location to explore other areas of the coast from too. Lovely to be able to take my dog, enclosed garden was brilliant.

November 2013
The holiday accommodation was the nicest place we have stayed in having holidayed in Whitby for 8 years. The location was excellent for easy access to all the amenities and the beach. All local eateries were happy to deliver to the door. The attention to detail by the owners was exceptional, and we look forward to our next visit to Broadings Cottage.

We have stayed three times at this cottage and each time the standard as been exceptionally high. The owners are very welcoming and helpful. Lots of room to walk our dog.
Mrs Stevens
April 2013
We arrived on a freezing cold day to a scrupulously clean, nicely warmed cottage with a nice packet of locally sourced biscuits awaiting us on the table. The owner was welcoming but she then left us alone to enjoy our break. The photos on Sykes website don't do this property justice. We thought we were going to an old jaded cottage instead we found ourselves in a relatively new barn conversion with a high vaulted ceiling and chandeliers. There is also an excellent power shower, a dishwasher and good quality bedding.
Mrs Peacock
March 2013
The cottage was perfect for us. Easy access to Whitby itself.

April 2012
From the second we arrived to a warm greeting we began to relax. An unseasonably warm february afternoon saw us drinking coffee and the complimentary home baked biscuits outside. Drinking coffee and drinking in the fabulous view from this property. Warm, comfortable, and homely, this cottage has everything you could need (except perhaps a king size bed). Whitby centre just a mile away, the energetic could even walk! The perfect location for a weekend away.
Mr O'Donnell

The tranquility of the cottage was very nice and it was also very nicely located. There were great views of the countryside and it was great for walking the dog.

September 2011
Made very welcome on arrival by owners. Broadings is a nicely decorated and clean cottage with all necessary furniture and fittings for a relaxed holiday. Owners live in adjacent farmhouse and although always available do not intrude. Good location for exploring yorks moors and coast with many good pubs of which most are dog friendly. There is a camping and caravan site adjacent but this is not to the detriment of the cottage and should not deter anyone from visiting. Location affords excellant views of surrounding coutryside. A cottage of the highest standard which we would hesitate in recommending to anyone.
Mrs Bexon

The property was on a quiet farm with very picturesque views of the North York Moors and within 3 minutes of Whitby West Cliff. A great base to explore the North Yorkshire Coastline. The owners were very friendly and a nice bottle of wine and foxes biscuit pack were waiting on the dining table when we arrived. The property is ideal for a young family of four and there was plently of room in the living area. The kitchen area was large with every utensil I could imagine. The garden area was sizeable and enclosed and a great area to sit out and eat and for the kids to play. Highly recommended.
