Sustonica, the first global sustainability standard for holiday lets.
Our aim is to create lasting holiday memories and we intend to do so both responsibly and sustainably.
To deliver on this we've set out a number of environmental and social pledges which help to focus our efforts;
you can read more about them in our Impact Report.
This is why we've partnered with Sustonica, the first global certification for holiday lets,
to support our owners to be more sustainable.
The Sustonica certification focuses on four key areas: energy conservation, water conservation,
waste reduction and promoting inclusiveness. They are on a mission to become the most widely
recognised sustainability standard for holiday rentals and a catalyst to reduce emissions of holiday
lets and influence guests to reduce their own household consumption too.
Properties that display the Sustonica badge have successfully passed the criteria,
which align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Global Sustainable Tourism Council standards,
and their owner has made a commitment to look after our planet as well as you.
Thinking about booking in summer season so we could open the large windows .
You will be most welcome. Sitting on the balcony watching the world go by with the sea in the background....hard to beat!

"The view from the apartment was stunning, especially as we were there for the weekend of the firework display."
The apartment was clean and well equipped - only thing I'd add is a hairdryer. Sofa and bed both really comfortable and good to have a decent size bed and wardrobe. There was a bit of noise from the upstairs flat, dog barking and pounding feet, but not enough to spoil the stay (may have been a noisy holidaymaker rather than a permanent resident). The only slight problems we had were with the TV as the info sheet said HDMI 1 for casting and 2 for DVD and we couldn't get it to work until we realised it was the other way round. Also we didn't notice at first that the parking permit was restricted to A2 areas and were lucky not to get a ticket parking in A1. Overall, a lovely apartment and the views really sell it.
Thank you for your kind feedback. Come back and stay with us again anytime.

"We were more than happy with the property, it was compact but had everything we needed for a comfortable holiday but it was the parking situation that spoilt it for us."
Although we were provided with parking permits which was very kind, it was so busy we could not find anywhere to park and ended up in one of the long stay car parks but as we needed the car sometimes to visit places, my husband who has a heart condition found it difficult being so steep backwards and forwards.
Thanks for the feedback. It is a struggle at times, particularly in the high season. One of the joys of the apartment being in the town is that everything is within walking distance (especially our favourite pub 'The Merchant'). But you do trade that for the parking. The nearest long stay carpark is Friars Way YO11 1HW, a 2 minute walk, but as you say, it isn't on the flat.
Do come back and visit us again in a quieter season. You get rougher seas in the winter too!

"This is a lovely property once you are inside and it feels secure."
It’s very comfortable. The views are amazing and it’s lovely to see Scarborough’s North Bay bustling during the day and lit up at night.
I was lucky enough to have great weather and take advantage of the balcony. I did have some difficulty finding the property and understanding the Disc Zone parking.
Thank you for your kind review. Almost everyone needs help finding the apartment....it's a bit "lion witch and the wardrobe"...but once you step through - WOW!

"Scaffolding was around the property for 3 days and when it did come down we had to clean the balcony of debris."
We were offered free parking for the week but we traveled by train. The shower was very hot and then cold. The room was narrow and 1 step up to when then another to the shower cubicle, awkward for the elderly or infirm. Apart from that the apartment was lovely but I can't work smart tv. The view is lovely when the scaffolding is not there.
Thanks for the feedback, we do care about everyone's comments and their experience at 'The Seahome'. We are sorry that the bad weather delayed our essential roof repairs, meaning the scaffolding was still up when you arrived. We did communicate about this and offered the free parking permits but we weren't made aware that you had travelled by train! We have also had concerns about safe access to our shower and so have recently added 2 secure hand rails to help support our visitors. Thank you for letting us know you had problems with the shower temperature, we'll get that checked.
Glad you enjoyed our view, please do come and visit us again.

"This is a really nice, comfortable, very well located and excellent value property in the centre of Scarborough with wonderful views over the South Sands."
The apartment is fairly compact, but well laid-out, and very nicely decorated and furnished. Space in the bedroom is possibly a little tight for some people, but it is entirely adequate, and made up for by the exceptional view across South Bay.
The lounge is very comfortable, and has the same wonderful view. There is a good-sized TV, but (as noted in the listing) you will need to know how to "cast" from your phone/tablet/laptop in order to use it properly. I had never had to this before, but it worked surprisingly well, and was fairly straightforward, but you do need to have the relevant apps (BBC iPlayer, BBC Sounds, Netflix etc.) installed on your device in order to use it.
The kitchen is a good size, with lots of cupboard space and worktop area, and all the crockery and utensils that I needed. The bathroom is a reasonably laid-out, with a good sized power shower, although this, and the wash basin, are raised-up one step (presumably to allow for drainage), which might be awkward for some people.
Overall, this is a great place to stay. It is really well located in the centre of Scarborough - just off the main street, but in a quiet courtyard. All the shops you are likely to need are very close by. The beach and seafront entertainment are about 90 seconds away. 10 minutes walk to the Station and all the main buses. I would certainly stay here again.
Thank you so very much for your lovely review, it sums up exactly what the Seahome is, and we love it here!
Our kindest regards and we look forward to welcoming you back.

A bath would be nice too after a long day of walking around. We had a wonderful stay and the bed was very comfortable and we loved the flat and location.
So glad you enjoyed your stay. We also had trouble with the fire when we visited soon after you...then we changed the batteries in the remote and hey presto. We look forward to welcoming you again soon.

Waking up to a sea view and then having breakfast in the balcony was really lovely! Looking forward to returning!

"The location and balcony are great, although the access to the balcony is a little awkward."
The bedroom and living room are very good but there is too much random furniture for such small spaces. The bathroom and kitchen and both a bit tired. However, the worst thing is the ridiculous amount of rules and instructions, both from Sykes and the property owner; in addition to being on most surfaces and appliances, there's a 15 point departure checklist - it hardly feels like you're on holiday.
Thank you for your feedback. We take on board the comments regarding the 'rules and instructions', these were meant to be helpful and I'm sorry you found them 'intrusive'.

The weather was glorious, it was like being on the Riviera! The apartment is well appointed and fully equipped. Rachel and Derek were really helpful and provided us with some information we needed about the area very quickly. It's so central, the food market is only 5 minutes walk away, we went there daily to stock up. Swam every morning and dined alfresco on the balcony. The bedroom has a great view too and was really comfortable with lovely crisp bed linen. It was a very enjoyable and restful stay. Can't wait to come back.
