With the living room on top and bedrooms beneath, this cute Yorkshire cottage embraces ‘upside-down’ living. It’s nestled in a string of stone cottages, away from the hustle and bustle of town and city life. A sprawling estate surrounds you with woodland walks and fine dining in the estate’s hotel restaurant on your doorstep. Walking further afield (‘scuse the pun) will see you at Sandsend Beach in fifteen minutes. From here, you can follow the sand (tides permitting) to the centre of Whitby in just under an hour, scanning for fossils and paddling in the sea as you go. A cosy living room sits on the first floor with a wooden plank wall and forest green decor a reminder of your rural surrounds. Also upstairs, the kitchen is a delight to cook in with everything you need for self-catering. From up here, you get great views of the estate, out over the hay meadow. Come bedtime, toddle downstairs to plush double bedrooms and perhaps drift off to the hoot of a passing barn owl.
