With its stunning red-roofed cottages and sweeping sandy beach, it's easy to see why the beautiful former fishing village of Runswick Bay regularly features towards the top of lists ranking the UK's best beaches. One of several self-catering accommodations situated within a ten-minute walk of this stunning sweep of sand, this newly constructed three-bedroom lodge is equipped with everything you could need for a coastal escape with friends and family (including four-legged members). Whether you're stretched out on the sofa, playing board games at the dining table, or preparing dinner in the kitchen, the open interior layout is perfect for spending valuable time together without feeling as though you're all on top of one another. On sunny summer days, throw open the French doors to instantly expand the living area onto the terrace, equipped with an outdoor dining table and parasol. Elsewhere, three individually decorated bedrooms take inspiration from your surroundings, with both nautical and countryside motifs featuring throughout. To maintain the peace and tranquillity of your surroundings, you won't find a long list of on-site facilities offered here. However, the nearby village of Hinderwell has a pub and a fish and chip shop, while the nearest supermarket can be found in Staithes, a couple of miles down the road. Head in the opposite direction, and you'll be rewarded with the ruins of Whitby Abbey hovering into view as you approach the town. Meanwhile, the rugged beauty of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park offers countless miles of picturesque hiking and biking trails.

About Whitby

Famously the setting of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, there’s something hauntingly beautiful about Whitby. The ruins of Whitby Abbey, set atop a windy hill overlooking the town, are just like a scene from a gothic novel. When the sun sets, ghost tours amble through the cobbled streets, revealing the town’s dramatic history. By day it’s all idyllic fishing village vibes, with a hint of Victorian holidays.
