• "Dairy Cottage is a real gem of a place."

  It has lovely views from the front door, in a quiet location and perfect for exploring the east coast and the North York Moors. We arrived to find complimentary tea, biscuits and cake. What a lovely surprise! There is a pub only a mile away which provides delicious food. The cottage has everything you need for a home from home feel. The bed is really comfortable and there is an added extra with a spa bath. Would highly recommend and we will certainly stay again if we ever go to the east coast again. Cara the owner is very accommodating and lovely to speak to.

• "This was a beautiful cottage."

  Clean with up to date facilities in a truly gorgeous rural area. It was a perfect retreat for us and the peace and rest we so needed. Easy to get to Whitby ( park and ride is perfect) and Scarborough. Very helpful owners when we got lost!

• "Well presented cottage with only minor problems."

  The aged leather settee lacked comfort and the key safe was so old we had difficulty using it. The view from the front door of the cottage is magnificent.

  Thank you for your feedback that the cottage was well presented and your message that you enjoyed your stay. Many previous guests have commented how comfortable they find everything in the cottage so I’m sorry that the sofa did not suit your own personal preference. The keysafe is not old and is straightforward to use with a button next to the number dial to open it. I responded immediately when you contacted me upon your arrival and opened the keysafe personally for you so you could access the cottage straight away. I strive to provide a lovely experience for guests, always trying my best to help and providing lots of additional touches in the cottage to help provide an enjoyable and comfortable stay. We are sorry that you had an issue with the toilet flush, if we had been contacted during your stay, then this could have been looked at straight away for you. The toilet is flushed during every changeover and was tested after your stay and we could not find any fault with it but we will keep checking it and get it looked at if an issue is found.   The owners have created a perfect retreat for couples. Great walks from the door down to Robin Hood's Bay and to Hayburn Wyke with Whitby and Scarborough just a short drive away. Only wish we could have stayed longer! Highly recommended.

• "We were a little miffed by the welcome pack, we never saw or heard from the property owner whilst at the cottage, just a hello and introduction would have been nice."

  The bath spa would have been lovely however when we switched it on a load of black debris shot out which actually put us off of using it and it left black bits all in the bath which we left for the owner to see...... The cottage was very comfortable and we had a lovely stay despite the above comments...

I provide a complimentary welcome gift for guests which has previously received many positive comments so I apologise if this did not meet with your satisfaction on this occasion. I would also like to assure you that during every changeover the whirlpool bath is cleaned then filled with specialist whirlpool bath cleaner and run on the whirlpool setting for the recommended time before being rinsed and cleaned again. I am sorry that you did not contact me during your stay as I would have been happy to repeat the whirlpool bath pipe cleaning process until it was fixed if I had been aware of the issue you were having. My phone number is clearly shown on the front page of the visitor information book within the cottage and I am easily contactable and on hand, always doing my best to help in any way with any queries as has been commented upon previously by guests. • "We really enjoyed our stay at Dairy Cottage."

  The cottage was warm with a nice bathroom that included a bath as well as a shower. A very large bedroom. We will have to go back in warmer weather so we can sit in the lovely courtyard. Although you can see the sea from the front door that's on the side of the cottage, the window on that side it to high to be able to see the sea which was a shame, but obviously there must be a reason for that. The stars at night were amazing. Complete piece and quiet. Very convenient to get to all different places. We would certainly go back. Owner was very helpful and left us some tea and biscuits which was a nice touch.

• "Lovely little cottage midway between Scarborough and Whitby with lots of walks nearby and plenty of places to visit."

  Garden was a little sun trap in the afternoon even though the sun is now getting low so I should imagine it's lovely in summer. Overall a fabulous little place which we wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

  We have stayed at a lot of cottages and this was one of the best. We were very comfortable, the Cottage had everything we needed and it was very quiet. We love the East Coast and it was within easy access of Whitby, Scarborough, Robin Hoods Bay etc. Highly recommended. It was our first break in ages due to COVID and we went home feeling very refreshed. Many thanks.

• "Dairy Cottage is a wonderful luxury cottage, superbly fitted out and located on a quiet farm."

  Wonderful views across to sea from front door. We found the location excellent for access to the Cleveland way & Cinder track which links Scarborough & Whitby so we enjoyed several loop walks including from cottage to Hayburn Wyke waterfalls, from Ravenscar to Robin Hoods Bay and Cloughton to Scarborough. The owner Cara was very helpful and left us a lovely welcome gift of tea, biscuits and cake. Facilities in the cottage were very good, modern kitchen, large bathroom with lovely underfloor heating. Just down the road was a roadside vegetable stall which worked on an honesty box system you could get fresh eggs, fruit & veg even freshly baked cakes! We had a really relaxing week at Dairy Cottage and would recommend staying there.
