"Lovely visit, appreciated the high standards of cleanliness , equipment and decor"

"Lovely comfortable cosy cottage in an incredibly beautiful area."
So tranquil, peaceful and relaxing. A real little gem. Gorgeous views of surrounding fields with bleating sheep and lambs and lots of wonderful wildlife from a sunny seating area in back garden and the moors very close by. Whitby with it's abbey, Staithes and Saltburn great places to visit and within easy travelling distance. Local village of Danby very prettty, enjoyed a nice coffee sitting on a bench on the village green watching the sheep relax under the trees. Sheer bliss! Wish we could have stayed longer.

"We had a great week at Lilac Terrace ."
It was really cosy and the huge bed so comfortable. It was ideal having the on suite as well as the bathroom which saved us time getting ready. The nearby cafe and local pub were just a few minutes walk away. Such a peaceful spot to drink the bottle of wine Nessa so kindly left us. Lovely cottage and well equipped.
-
"Excellent cottage, perfect place for walking in the moors and trips to the coast."
The cottage was warm and welcoming, the kitchen is well equipped for cooking. Would highly recommend a stay.
-
"The cottage is delightful and larger than the roadside photo suggests."
We did not find anything to fault: this cottage is probably the nearest to being "at home" that we have rented. The location is excellent, with so much to do both locally, and a little further afield. We had excellent local walks and trips to Castle Howard, Ormesby Hall and Whitby, all of which are comfortable drives away. If you want to eat out, we found the local pub and The Eskdale in nearby Castleton to be excellent.

-

"A beautiful tastefully furnished cottage, clearly loved, with great attention to detail."
. Comfy bed and lovely bed linen. Warm and inviting and in a great location, handy for country walks and the coast. We thoroughly enjoyed our week. Only suggestion would be a non stick saucepan and some oven proof dishes.

"7 Lilac Terrace was perfect for a week away."
Clean comfortable and very cosy with everything we needed. The location is ideal for walking on the moors, the Esk Valley Walk and access to the coast, by car or by catching the train from Danby station a short walk from the cottage.

"The cottage was emaculate, comfortable and incredibly well-equipped: we had everything we needed to enjoy a wonderfully relaxing stay."
The location of the cottage is very convenient for trips to the coast and the North Yorkshire Moors, and the village benefits from two fantastic pubs (one just at the top of the lane; a stone's throw from the cottage) and a lovely bakery. All in all, I highly recommend Lilac Cottage as an ideal place to stay for wanting to explore the delights North Yorkshire has to offer.

"The cottage has a lovely big living room and kitchen."
The bedrooms are a bit small but big enough not to be a problem. The kitchen has all we want to cook a meal. The decor is really lovely and has a cosy, homely feel. The whole place is spotlessly clean! The cottage is in a beautiful part of the Dales and is an ideal base to explore. Plenty of pubs for meals either in walking distance or a short drive away. A local bakery with good take away sandwiches and delicious cakes. Lilac Terrace is the best cottage we have stayed in!

"Our weeks holiday at Lilac Terrace was a dream."
The cottage has all you need - comfy beds, well equipped kitchen, a stunning view and parking right outside. Nessa, the owner was lovely, and the welcome pack was very much appreciated after a long journey. We also visited the village pub many times for food - beautiful beer garden and only a two minute walk from cottage. Weather was amazing during our stay so we made the most of the beautiful area. We can’t wait to return one day!
