Do you have a question about this home or the local area?

You can set your expectations high for a stay at this award-winning eco barn retreat. Nestled in the sleepy Yorkshire village of Kelfield, yet just a 20-minute drive from the centre of York, you have the best of both worlds here. Dating back to the 18th Century, exposed brickwork, oak beams, and the original dovecote nesting holes in the gabled roof show the bones of this historic building. While elsewhere, interiors are firmly up to date with a luxurious super-king sized bedroom adorned in quality linens, a vast en-suite bathroom, and a hand-crafted country kitchen complete with a requisite butler's sink. Spread out across one level, this property is entirely wheelchair friendly, with several mobility aids available, including a wheel-in shower room and shower chair. When the sun shines, head out into the private patio garden to fire up the barbecue and enjoy a glass of wine as the sun sets. In winter months, curl up beside the wood-burning fireplace – the underfloor heating will keep things toasty too. Should you ever be persuaded to leave this cosy nest for two, the grounds of the family farm where this home lies make for a pleasant stroll. Or up the ante with a brisk walk through the Yorkshire countryside or along the River Ouse, just moments from your doorstep. And when thoughts turn to food, mosey down the riverbank to the next village over for a hearty pub lunch.
