Area Many of the homes in Snettisham, a typical Norfolk village, are constructed from the local iron-rich carr stone, giving them an appealing golden-brown hue. Because of this the structures' alternative name is "gingerbread houses." The village has a few convenience stores, a Post Office, two hotels, a cafe, and a bus stop with regular service to the neighbouring towns of King's Lynn, a historic city, and Hunstanton, a popular coastal resort with families. The church of St. Mary, perched alone atop the hill, is well worth visiting for its gorgeous tracery flowers that adorn the west window. The beach is only three miles distant, and the ancient Peddars Way public footpath passes through the neighbourhood. Park Farm is a working farm on the outskirts of the village that hosts a variety of family-friendly events all year long, such as a 45-minute "deer safari" and the opportunity to feed the animals. Norfolk Lavender, England's premier lavender farm, is conveniently located close by, as are the Royal Estate of Sandringham's open house, gardens, and church.
Region Picturesque rolling Fens, unspoilt beaches, and pretty waterways - East Anglia is a dream holiday destination. Norfolk offers beaches, saltmarshes and quaint villages whilst equally as charming are the coast and countryside of Suffolk.

A lovely week in a fantastic cottage.. Warm, clean and comfortable with everything you need. Great position to explore the local area. Walking distance to 2 lovely pubs and the shop. Perfect! Thank you.

The cottage is well situated to enjoy this part of Norfolk, close to a number of pubs and a well stocked Co-op.. A cosy little property but although there was only myself and my wife we felt that the fridge could do with being a lot bigger. Apart from that it was quite satisfactory.

This is a lovely cottage in a pleasant and friendly village with a co-op, 2 pubs, a restaurant and an excellent fish and chip shop.. The information given on the website is accurate but the photos do not give the full extent of the size of the property- it goes back and back with a lovely garden behind. The cottage is provided with everything you need and is warm and comfortable. Jacky gave us full control over the heating, which we found to be perfect. The parking is exactly as is said in the description. Our Golf fit on it and we found no problem getting onto it. Our daughter had brought her car, which she parked 50 yards away on a residential street with no issues. We found the cottage to be an excellent base for exploring North Norfolk and would have no hesitation in booking again.

There were a few problems, mainly with the parking on the ‘driveway’.. It is awkward to get on it as there is always traffic coming both ways. It was a very busy road which was not mentioned. The car also stuck out over the path. The settees were not at all comfortable, good job we were out all day! The heating is left on all day and night so in the middle of the night it comes on and wakes you up, so we had to turn it right down, consequently it was cold in the morning. To get hot water to flow in the kitchen we had to run out about a gallon of water every time. In these days of conversation that is a lot of water wasted every day. The beds in the second bedroom were really children’s beds and not at all suitable for adults. On the plus side the property was very clean and very very warm. Wouldn’t book the same one again though.

A wonderful cottage that is actually bigger than it appears in the pictures or even from the outside.. Situated in a beautiful little village and ideally located for visiting beaches, nature reserves and the sights of North West Norfolk.

The cottage was very welcoming and comfortable and well equipped although
The Queen Victoria just 5 minutes walk away did a very good breakfast and evening meal when we felt that little bit lazy.. Elizabeth

A comfortable, homely cottage, in a pleasant village and well located for visits to all sorts of places from the coast to stately homes.. There are pubs and a co-op in walking distance and a fish and chip shop ( lovely).

Unaware of steep stairs, bathroom could do with a lock also above wash basin could do with a shelf.. Other than that everything was there that was needed.

Duck Cottage was much roomier than we had expected, lovely feeling of light and space, kitchen very well equipped, and a welcome pack was gratefully received.. It was clean and warm, and of a very high standard. We would certainly go back there for another visit.

Stayed in February 2019, having already stayed in Feb 2018.. This is a lovely warm spacious cottage with everything you need and unlike others we have stayed at there is tons of wardrobe space. The conservatory is great and even in February you are treated to some fantastic sunsets. Only 5 minutes from the local shops and pubs and a short drive to the beach. We are serious walkers and this is a great base for exploring everything North Norfolk has to offer. Just up the road you have Snettisham Park which the kids will absolutely love and further up the cost you have the lovely seaside town of Hunstanton. The owners are great and ensure that you are well catered for and we were treated to a lovely welcome pack. We have already booked our stay for 2020.

This was our second visit to Duck Cottage, it was just as we remembered and did not disappoint.. The owners respond extremely quickly if you have a problem, however small.

Parking is awkward at this property so you need to be a confident driver.. Also, the stairs are very steep, it felt a bit scary carrying our baby down them and I think would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues.
Mr Mayes

Lovely cottage .. Ideal location for exploring the local area.

June 2018
The off road parking is very tight with no drop curve.. The stairs in the cottage are very steep with a awkward turn near the bottom. If you are young or fully fit no problem but if like me you have dodgy knees and hips
they can be challenging. Other than that the cottage is lovely, set in a beautiful friendly village which boasts two great pubs and a small but we'll stocked Co op. We really enjoyed our stay here and w I'll hopefully be back soon.

August 2016
We absolutely loved this cottage.. It had a beautiful mix of character features combined with contemporary style. The garden and conservatory were lovely places to enjoy breakfast and evening drinks. The cottage was situated within a really sweet village with access to lots of interesting places to visit. We would highly recommend the deer safari and Sandringham House. We also enjoyed a trip to Norfolk Lavender where we had a delicious lunch. The seaside town of Hunstanton offered crazy golf and arcades for the children to enjoy. The only minor problem was the lack of wifi as we would have liked to have checked the weather forecast, entry costs, opening times etc. However, the flip-side of no wifi meant that the teenagers were more sociable and didn't spend the entire time with their faces locked to their phones!
Thank you, Sykes, for another lovely holiday.
Mrs Fitch, August 2016
August 2016
The house was lovely in a beautiful location.. Quite pricey but as you would expect for August. The comfiest beds ever!
Downside had to be phone signal- or lack of. Obviously lovely in that we could leave home and work behind BUT teenagers found it difficult!
I would recommend this cottage to others.
Mrs McAuliffe, August 2016

A lovely comfortable cottage, very well located in a pretty village.. We used the Coast Hopper bus to walk the Norfolk Coastal path and to visit Kings Lynn.
