Just outside the hamlet of Roydon, and two miles from Diss, this home sets the stage for cosy getaways. The photos make it look more secluded than it is (it’s attached to other buildings), however, that’s not necessarily a negative thing, especially if it’s a stylish barn conversion with beautiful surroundings that you’re after. The bedroom up in the eaves is like sleeping in a hayloft, with the wooden ceiling above you, but the sumptuous double bed and free-standing tub is a far cry from a bed of straw. On the ground floor, the open-plan kitchen, living and dining room is made for socialising where the main topic of conversation might be the horses in the paddock next door or the sweeping country vistas from walls of glass around you. The granite-topped kitchen has everything you need to knock up a country feast and there’s a double wood-burner in the living room to keep things warm and snug when the temperature drops. Outside, you’ll find wooden decking furnished with a picnic bench for barbecues in the sun, and walkways snaking past the pond and towards the fields. Walks in the area will cross streams and fields, and you can head to Bressingham Steam & Garden (a fifteen-minute walk) for a unique day out, admiring the steam machines in the fabulous grounds.
