Sitting on a quiet terrace in the leafy London district of Chiswick, this immaculate family home offers a laid-back yet luxurious getaway. With a sun trap garden, four luminous bedrooms and a high-spec kitchen-diner, the charming townhouse is set to be the backdrop of a memorable time in the capital. Though the home has a period exterior, the interiors are ultra-contemporary. Sleek sliding doors let light pour into the open-plan living space, where you can spend bright mornings pottering around the kitchen and gloomy afternoons curled up on the linen sofa. The kids can play safely in the garden with the football net and toys provided, and when you need a moment of calm, the free-standing bathtub upstairs encourages long bubbly soaks. Set slightly outside of the city centre, the terraced pad offers a level of tranquillity that's difficult to find in London. That said, it won't take you long to reach the sites on your itinerary, whether that's Kew Gardens or Chelsea. Hammersmith's trendy eateries are just a half-hour stroll away, and the walk back home will take you along the River Thames.

About Chiswick

Chiswick is a riverside village turned desirable suburb, where attractive period properties and ample green spaces, together with a vibrant mix of independent shops and restaurants on its leafy High Road attract families who want to retreat to a part of London with a real community feel. It's not the place to stay if you want to explore the city's nightlife, but would be ideal for visitors wanting a peaceful retreat to return to after hectic sightseeing.
