With over three centuries of history between its walls, this former Baptist Chapel has all the authentic character of an 18th century home with the added comforts of modern living. Perhaps most charming is that this Grade II listed building still has the original Victorian range installed, which sits prominently at the heart of the living space where it is both a statement piece. Gather around it after dinner in celebration of cosy, family movie nights, or when you're bringing out the board games – the ottoman easily doubles up as a makeshift tabletop. Sprawl out on one of the Chesterfield sofas where you can read Jane Austen and Oscar Wilde in peace under the original timbers. Top up your coffee in the sleek kitchen and go straight back to reading, or choose instead to proceed in the garden where you can lean against the stone wall and imagine yourself worlds away. Back inside, appreciate the rest of the original features, such as the exposed stone work and chapel windows, from the galleried landing. As you’ll find the elegant bedrooms right off the landing, we suggest taking a moment of pause here after waking up every morning and before making your way downstairs to get started on breakfast. Eat around the kitchen island or take a seat next to the reclaimed stone pillar where you can enjoy a Full English breakfast in the natural light streaming in through the window. Visit the spa next door for massage and wellness treatments whenever you’d like to really treat yourself, and explore Barnoldswick, only minutes away. Stop off at the pub for pint, but make it back in time to enjoy dinner alfresco at sunset.
