With four centuries of history, this charming cottage lies in the picturesque village of Westbere, boasting a garden with space to throw family barbecues under the sun. The traditional furnishings, along with the exposed oak beams and open fireplace, provide a cosy ambience for curling up on the couch after a day of exploring. Westbere's claim to fame is one of the oldest pubs in the country, which you'll find just a couple minutes from your doorstep along with local independent shops. When it comes to traversing East Kent, you'll be well-connected here for day trips – the iconic city of Canterbury, along with towns like Whitstable and Margate, are all easily reached by car or bus.

Home truths
There is space to park for free on the premises for up to two cars. The turn onto the road is quite tight and will be more difficult for larger cars.
Your host can provide a free cot and high chair here if you're travelling with little ones. You may need to request this in advance.
This home is 400 years old, so there are steep stairs and low beams in some areas. It might not be suitable for taller guests, and younger children may need supervision on the stairs.
Access to the twin room is via the main double bedroom.
The traditional decor here might not be to everyone's taste. It feels a little dated in parts.
