Description
Set in grounds of the owners' house in a tranquil spot in the Garden of England, The Studio is perfect for one or two people looking to escape to the countryside. It is a superb above garage conversion with great views from its first floor balcony entrance. The owners have a lovely large garden and pool which they are happy to share with their guests in the summer months and there is an additional seating area down by the pond to enjoy. The open plan interior has been beautifully decorated and styled and offers a comfortable seating area, a fully-equipped small kitchen area with everything in place to whip up breakfast, lunch or dinner! There is a king size bed which is partially partitioned off with shelving and a separate shower room; the interior is cool and contemporary and finished with great attention to detail. The area has lots of footpaths and trails right from the doorstep and makes an ideal base for walkers and cyclists but it also great for visiting National Trust properties, famous gardens and exploring the surrounding countryside. Ulcombe is 4 miles from Headcorn with a Sainsbury's Local, speciality shops, pubs and a mainline station to London. Close by you can explore Bodiam and Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens and Leeds Castle with Go-Ape and it also offers Segway Tours. There is a golf club at Chart Hills and fishing lakes at Cackle Hill. Historic Rye is 23 miles away, Camber Sands is just a few miles further along the Sussex coast or you can explore the beaches in Kent; Whitstable, famous for its oysters. The Kent and East Sussex Railway is in Tenterden, which is known as the Jewel in the Weald locally, with lots of independent shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs. There are vineyard tours and tastings at Chapel Down in Small Hythe and the Balfour Winery in Staplehurst. Famous Gardens to visit are Hole Park in Rolvenden and Great Dixter in Northiam. Learn to fly or just book a pleasure flight at Headcorn Aerodrome, which also hosts classic car meets. Canterbury is 24 miles away and is famous for its Cathedral, the Marlowe Theatre, museums and galleries, restaurants and bars. Boating on the Stour River (which runs through the centre of Canterbury), cycle paths and fishing along the Great Stour way (which leads to Chartham and beyond), or walking within the city walls and gardens is a must. There are many quintessential Kent villages surrounding Canterbury: perfect for a wander and afternoon tea.
