12 Customer Reviews

The property

Faversham 4.2 miles.

Tucked away in Kent’s countryside in Graveney near the historic town of Faversham is Lodge Two, Country View Park.

This wonderful, dog-friendly lodge Lodge is on a five lodge site surrounded by fields and on several footpaths, leading to the Saxon Shore Way and benefits from a shared lawn with stunning views across the countryside, a private enclosed decking with furniture and a well thought out open-plan living space welcoming up to four guests, perfect for families or couples looking to explore the countryside.

After a full day in the countryside, cross the threshold and head straight for the fully-equipped kitchen to help rustle up a hearty meal to be enjoyed at the dining table.

Later, unwind in the sitting room and flick on the TV while the electric fire warms your feet, or step outside to delight in drinks while admiring the spectacular sunset over the rolling fields.

When the stars fill the sky, head inside to wash off the day’s adventures in the bathroom before choosing from a double or twin bedroom to catch your rest ahead of another fun-filled day in Kent.

Lodge Two is well positioned to explore both the countryside and the coast, with a variety of walks woven throughout the surrounding fields and the nearby coastal village of Seasalter where you can stroll along its miles of golden sands.

Those seeking something different can take to the water via paddle board or sailing boat to admire stunning views across the sea.

The historic town of Faversham is also a short drive away; here you can spend the day roaming its cobbled streets which house a market three times a week and a variety of independent shops and cafes, marvel at the stunning heritage building Maison Dieu, stroll along the Standard Quay or brush up on local history at Faversham Stone Chapel.

History enthusiasts, looking to immerse themselves in the past should head to Canterbury, famed for its pilgrimage, where they can visit The Crooked House, Canterbury Cathedral and St Augustine’s Abbey; there are even guided boat tours focusing on historic and literary sites!

Where you’ll be staying

SEASALTER

Whitstable 2 miles; Herne Bay 6 miles; Canterbury 5 miles; Faversham 5 miles; Westgate-on-Sea 10 miles.

Seasalter is a pretty village located by the sea on the north coast of Kent, between the towns of Whitstable and Faversham. The beach at Seasalter is mainly shingle and sand and therefore quieter than the more sandy bays at Westgate-on-Sea which is just along the coast. Seasalter Sailing Club, which has a clubhouse on Faversham Road, hosts catamaran boats which race on the River Swale Estuary, and there is also a private Water Ski Club with launch ramp. The Sportsman is a very popular pub and restaurant, earning a Michelin-star in 2008, so if you are celebrating a special event while visiting Seasalter this offers a mouthwatering menu, just make sure to book in advance. Public transport is very well covered in this village with regular buses to Canterbury, Whitstable and Faversham, each place offering visitors a day full of interest. Canterbury is ideal for a day exploring historic houses, taking walks or boat trips along the river, visiting a museum or two, a theatre evening or just enjoying a browse around the shops. A little less well known is that in Canterbury The Spitfire Ground is home to Kent County Cricket Club, and as well as cricket hosts other events during the year, so if a day of "leather on willow" is just for you or maybe a music event is more your scene, look to see what is on during your stay. Whitstable is a quaint coastal town, with cobbled streets, quirky shops and a well -visited fishing harbour where you can buy fish straight off of the boats, and if you want something to wash it down with, then take a trip to Faversham where you can take a guided tour around Shepherd Neame, Britain's oldest brewery dating back to 1698 and select a bottle to take home. After all the tours and sampling you may feel a day of walks and beachcombing could be just what you need, so pack a picnic and with a beach towel and a hat to shield the sun, make for the beach at Seasalter and enjoy the sound of the waves and the scent of the sea!
