Gary and Lucy were wonderful hosts, most helpful, without intrusion.. Their two dogs Bobby and Jess, 3 Shetland ponies, rescued chickens, squirrels and the regularly visiting foxes were a joy to see each day.
Bobby, sometimes accompanied by Jess, visited each morning to have his ball, stick or pine cone, thrown across the lawn, which he duly retrieved and nosed towards you for another go.
The accommodation lacked nothing that we could have wanted, and a regular walk through the owners adjoining woodland was much appreciated. So quiet with only the sound of birdsong to break the silence.
Within 20 miles are numerous places we visited, , Chartwell (Churchill’s home), Ightam Mote, Chatham Dockyard museum, Upnor Castle, Leeds Castle and Knowle Castle all worth a visit.
Our week there was over too soon and we wish them every success.
